Grand daughters dog would keep getting them too. The vet told her to keep the ear clean. So she would use some dish soap on a cotton ball and clean his ear. Then use another cotton ball dipped in a weak saline solution to rinse his ear. Then use neosporin ointment in his ear. It seemed to help some.

Thanks GE - we'll try that!

I use a water/vinegar rinse to help prevent dog's ear problems, particularly the ones with floppy ears.   You can buy over the counter ear cleaners from places like Petco & Petsmart, but I make my own.

That is a good idea Muffy. Vinegar is useful for so many things. Will tell granddaughter to try it.

Green Eyes.....Thanksgiving with your daughter sounds so nice.  My daughter and son-in-law have a family Christmas gathering....sort of huge so I do not mind Thanksgiving at all.

Did the shopping yesterday and will start prepping today...set the table and clean house.

Don't know where you are but I am watching your earthquake notices....sounds sort of scary.

Blue Moon, I am missing the yearly snow which always started the week of Thanksgiving.  I learned to love it.....how to walk, how to drive, how to salt the drive so I could get out of the driveway....lol.

Hope everyone is getting ready for a wonderful holiday.

Mere, you old hometown is getting at  least 6" snow tonight.  We have about an inch yesterday.  Suppose to get a little more tonight and it is so cold.  Our new wood burning fireplace is getting a workout for sure.  Snow is pretty but the older I get the less I like seeing winter come around.  Heck, I fully expect by this time next week to have more tornadoes.  I told my hubby if we could find part time jobs down in Gulf Shores, Al, I would love to move down there during the winter months.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.  Enjoy having your families around. We will split the holiday between hubby's family and then my family on Friday.  By Saturday we will not want to see another turkey dinner until next year.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2013 From Scared Monkeys … Thank You To All

A special Happy Thanksgiving wish from Scared Monkeys …

As you spend time today with family, friends and loved ones while feasting on turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, cranberry and maybe watching some football, please take the time to remember what you are thankful for and give thanks. We all have something to be thankful for, sometimes we just all too soon forget.  As President Ronald Reagan said on Thanksgiving Day 1986, “Perhaps no custom reveals our character as a Nation so clearly as our celebration of Thanksgiving Day. Rooted deeply in our Judeo-Christian heritage, the practice of offering thanksgiving underscores our unshakable belief in God as the foundation of our Nation and our firm reliance upon Him from Whom all blessings flow.”

I would be remiss if I did not say thanks to the many readers of Scared Monkeys both on the front page and in the forum who make it a joyous adventure. We do not all have to agree, that would make life pretty boring. But we do have to find a way to agree  to make America work. I am so thankful to the moderators, past & present, in the Monkey cage at Scared Monkeys.net, San, CBB, Bearlyhere and Nut44x4, who volunteer their time who keep the peace and add their incite to so many stories going on in the news. And MuffyBee, who although is no longer a mod, adds much content and comments to the conversation.  Thank you to Blink, at Blink on Crime who does such excellent and tireless work and crime sleuthing. I don’t say it enough Blink, but thanks for all you do and giving me a smack upside the head every so often. A special shout out and thanks to Dana Pretzer of the ‘Dana Pretzer Radio Show’ who brings us some of they best crime guests, and pundits in the game today and provides us with fantastic interview of crime and missing persons cases! And a special thanks to Klaas, the oil that makes the engine work. Her hard work and caring of crime and missing persons cases is only outdone by here work behind the scenes. THANK YOU TO ALL!!!
