Soldier In Fort Hood Sexual Assault Office Accused Of Abuse
May 15, 2013

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Army says the coordinator of a sexual assault prevention program at Fort Hood, Texas, is under investigation for "abusive sexual contact" and other alleged misconduct. He has been suspended from all duties.

The announcement Wednesday evening came just days after the arrest of the Air Force's head of sexual assault prevention on charges of groping a woman in a northern Virginia parking lot.

The Army said a sergeant first class, whose name was not released, is accused of pandering, abusive sexual contact, assault and maltreatment of subordinates.

He had been assigned as an equal opportunity adviser and coordinator of a sexual harassment-assault prevention program at the Army's 3rd Corps headquarters at Fort Hood when the allegation arose.

Army sergeant who watchdogs sex assault cases now accused of sex crimes
May 15, 2013

A senior-ranking Army sergeant who handles sexual assault cases at Fort Hood, Texas, is now being investigated for several sex crimes, including ties to prostitution.

Several sources said the sergeant first class, whose name is being withheld because no charges have yet been filed, is under investigation for accusations related to prostitution, United Press International reported.

A staffer on Capitol Hill said to USA Today that the senior-level sergeant was facing investigation for forcing a lower-ranked solider into prostitution, and for sexually abusing two other individuals. And two unnamed Pentagon officials confirmed to USA Today that the sergeant was accused of running a prostitution ring.

The sergeant is being investigated by the Army Criminal Investigation Command for “abusive sexual contact,” the Pentagon said, UPI reported. The sergeant also faces suspicions of mistreating subordinates and assault.

The sergeant has been taken off duties as an “equal opportunity adviser,” and sexual harassment and assault prevention officer, while the investigation continues, UPI reported.

Leader of Fort Hood sex assault prevention program accused of abuse
May 14, 2013

WASHINGTON — A soldier assigned to coordinate a sexual assault prevention program at Fort Hood is under investigation after being accused of “abusive sexual contact” and other misconduct and has been suspended from his duties, the Army announced Tuesday.
The announcement came just days after the arrest of the Air Force’s head of sexual assault prevention on charges of groping a woman in a northern Virginia parking lot.
The Army said a sergeant first class, whose name was not released, is accused of pandering, abusive sexual contact, assault and maltreatment of subordinates.
He had been assigned as an equal opportunity adviser and coordinator of a sexual harassment-assault prevention program at the Army’s 3rd Corps headquarters at Fort Hood when the allegation arose.

The announcement comes as the Pentagon continues to struggle with what it calls a growing epidemic of sexual assaults across the military. In a report last week, the Defense Department estimated that as many as 26,000 military members might have been sexually assaulted last year, based on survey results.
Of those, fewer than 3,400 reported the incidents, and nearly 800 of them sought help but declined to file formal complaints against their attackers.
