Do they train the parents when they come to pick up the dogs?

I am amazed at the training methods and results from this place.

Most excellent.

Hello to Trimm!

Will not be long until Sister goes to get Belle!

Cookie, you have your hands full with a new puppy!

GE-- you always keep us in line over here- where are JSM  And CC?

So, I got a Chubbie story for y'all-

She is on a diet getting her scant cup in the morning and the evening.  After she eats, she licks the Criminal's bowl looking for scraps.  But the Criminal doesn't chew her food, she swallows it whole bites, another is nothing left in seconds.  So... Chubbie, the hunter, has decided that she can find/hunt her own food and has taken to the woods to kill/eat birds on the back porch!!!

So, how can I put her on a diet, if she is out finding her own food????

Silly mutt- ya she from the hills of West  Virginia!

Brandi,
I will spend a day being trained too!
I did a lot of research on the training methods, etc.  He was the closest.  It isn't close, but Belle is worth the 9 hour drive.
Just very excited to get her back.  Have had Mr. Jenkins for the last two nights.  He is such a cuddle bug with no discipline -- haha!

Ahhh ... Mr. Jenkins ...

Glad you have had his company for a few days!

I am glad you will get trained too, I am sure that is very important.

I doubt Belle will need much discipline after all this time being trained. She appears to have mastered everything she has been taught. And she seems to like it as well.

Cookie, they are on Facebook and on the web.  Solid K-9 training is the name. They take all kinds of dogs.  Some dogs just need a couple of days as they don't have to un-learn as much as say Belle who is about 2 years old and though I don't know her background, have concluded she was a watch dog allowed to roam free.  If you decide to check them out, they have lots of videos for different issues, like leash walking, learning down/stay, etc.  It was Jeff's philosophy that appealed to me the most.  They do "real world" training and want the dogs to have a stress-free life as well as the owners.  Belle had me so stressed I wondered if I had made the right decision getting a dog and it was breaking my heart.  But I believed she (and me) deserved the chance to live a good life.  I am so glad I found Jeff and his training.  He gives so much back, goes into NYC and works with shelters, fosters dogs to get them adoptable, etc.
How is beautiful Lilly doing?  Did I tell you I am greeeeeeen with envy, so happy you have her.  I truly think she is one of the most beautiful dogs in the whole wide world!

Yes, sweet Mr. Jenkins.  I am hoping some of Belle's training will rub off on him.  It could happen . . . maybe.

If the persons has to sit in the wheel chair the whole time, you will need a wheelchair van.
If the person can transfer to a car seat, there are several ways.  Let me know and I'll let you know tonight how I transfer and transport George.
Hope all is well.

My Mom used a simple manual wheel chair carrier that mounted on the back of her car while when my late father was wheel chair bound.  He was able to swing his legs out of the car and she helped him into the wheel chair.  Later on, he grew too weak to do this and the family chipped in and we found a good used van adapted for wheel chair use.  I'm not too sure which model she had or what brand, but here are some links. There are very simple tote models (which are great back savers & not so expensive) on up to fancier versions.

Hitch Mounted Carriers:

http://www.a1-medical-supplies.net/lifts-for-outside-of-car/

http://www.wheelchaircarrier.com/  She used a low cost tote carrier like Tilt N Tote Model 001.  You can see photos of it without the chair.
