Afternoon Monkeys   Continued Prayers for all in need.  an angelic monkey

Good to see you Can.  How you doing? Hows the family?

Cookie long time no see. Hows it going? Ready for Spring?

TBM  How are the boys doing?

4Donks how you doing?

Brandi haven't seen you on in a couple days. Hope your move is coming along.

To all Monkeys hope you are all doing well.  an angelic monkey

Been checking in daily, just not posting. Too tired. LOL

The plumber came Sat. morning and fixed the pipe that had frozen and burst in the LR ceiling. (So much for the winterizing they had done.) And he checked out everything else, and we are fine! No other plumbing problems. WooHoo! We lucked out.

Hubby and I and Brandi spent the whole day Sat. and Sunday at the house, moving some stuff over and he did a LOT of yardwork. I trimmed back the shrubs in front of the house, and got sore. LOL

Sunday, I took a little sunbath in the front yard (no one can see me, the house is set back quite far) and fell asleep! I never fall asleep sitting up. Got a little too much sun on my face! Anyway, hubby thought it was so cute, he came around and found me asleep in the chair and Brandi asleep on the front porch.

We are moving in bit by bit, changing locks, installing the washer and dryer (needed different hose clamps so all was done except for the dryer.) Just so much to do before we actually move in, but we are getting there.

Just got a call while typing this from the appraiser's office to meet the appraiser at the house tomorrow at 1 so he can follow up on the plumbing repair for the lender. It's all kept me very busy. I cleaned out a bunch of drawers today and packed a few boxes, went to the store for some new trash cans/waste baskets, etc.

Also had to deal with Ray's schedule (hospital appointments and rides to them) so I am really staying busy.

Thanks for thinking of me.

 an angelic monkey

That's wonderful news that there isn't any other plumbing problems. After tomorrow that will be off your list. Happy to hear you are getting stuff moved over little bye little. Before you know it you will be all moved in. Sounds like you have been very busy with your stuff and the neighbors stuff.

Thank you GE.  Between my own stuff and church -- sometimes it is overwhelming.
Two deaths last week -- one industrial accident and one other.  Just so much going on -- yet I know how blessed I am.

Hey GE (and all other monkeys!)  Boys and I are doing great - one with an arm in a cast but he is surviving - roller skating is very dangerous stuff!  Getting ready to leave tomarrow morning to take my mom, two 7 year old nieces and 7 year old son down to chicago to visit the oldest. The 15 year old thought he was way too cool to go with all those kids so he is staying home. Should be interesting!

That roller skating can be dangerous for sure. Hope he is doing okay. Mine broke his while playing frisbee with his cousins.  What fun going to go see your oldest. Hope you have a fun & safe trip.

Just flash floods in low areas but those areas were hit badly. I'm on high ground so no problems.

Ray, our neighbor will be okay. His other neighbor is going to keep his grass cut, keep an eye out for him, take him to the grocery once a week, and hubby will drop by once a week with a week's worth of doled out medications for him. (I do that now for him and order his meds, etc.) He will also pick up dirty laundry and return with clean laundry. I'll do that for him at the new house, just as I do here at the old one. I have already arranged for the DAV Need a Ride program to transport him to his hospital appointments (the Veteran's hospital) ...I just have to arrange each one by phone as they are scheduled. He has a good friend who visits every few weeks and takes him out. He is a homebody, so I think everything will be fine. I'll still probably talk to him by phone a couple of times a day.

I have been cleaning out drawers and throwing stuff out and re-arranging for when we move the chests/dressers, etc. We'll take the drawers out and move them manually, and then the chests/dressers won't be so heavy to move. I think I have all the Christmas stuff together now and all packed up to take to the garage at the new house.

Bought a Bissell Pet Pro steam cleaner through Craigslist last weekend to do the carpets at the new house and keep them nice and clean. (Brandi has a continence issue and is on Proin to help the leakage, but sometimes she has a few drops leak out.) I know, too much info. LOL But cleaning the carpet is going to be a regular thing to do.

Yesterday, I went to meet the appraiser (he was a surly old man!) for his check on the plumbing issues our lender mandated be fixed as part of our mortgage agreement. I assume all is well, as I have heard nothing back, and he certainly didn't share any info with me when he was there.

Finally found owner's manuals for all the kitchen appliances. We found out that the water intake valve was broken behind the refrigerator for water and ice to be dispensed in the door of the refrigerator, and we ordered a new one. That still needs to be installed. Hubby can only do stuff there on the weekends, since he works all week, so things are slow, but we will get there. One thing at a time. Still have some locks to change. There are at least 9 on the property that need changing. The front door has a knob lock that when you lock it from the outside, you cannot unlock it from inside! That's just crazy. That's the first thing to do this coming weekend, change that one. It also has a locking storm (glass) door and a digital deadbolt lock on it. The previous owners also had Protection One security system on the property. There are stickers for them all over the windows and property. Ugh. A couple will be fine to keep up, just so a wannabe burglar might be scared off.

Oh there I go again, talking my head off. I should be cleaning/packing. heh

So sorry about your son's arm, TBM. Yes, rollerskating IS dangerous. Hope your trip to Chicago is glorious!

4 Donks, good to hear you are on high ground. Hope your health continues to get better and better.

Sister, hang in there, I predict your burdens will lighten soon. Always thinking of you.

Green Eyes, thanks for asking! You are so sweet.

Trimm, Bearly, JSM, and all the other thread monkeys, where are you? Hope you all are doing well.

Wow Brandi you have been busy.  So glad the grumpy inspector is over. How nice of you, hubs and other neighbor for taking care of Ray your neighbor. Before long you will be all moved into your new place. I am so happy for you that all is going according to your plans.

We had a wonderful time on the visit. Hard to believe next year at this time we will be going for graduation!  I did not even have to tie one of the three 7 year olds to the roof the entire trip!

so what do you think of this -- I "may" do a baptism at sunrise Easter service.
It starts at 6 a.m. as the Son is rising.  Not sure yet if the family is going to go for it.  We shall see.  I think it would be awesome!
