Evening Monkeys

My oldest Granddaughter in California is leaving in the morning with her church youth group for her 10 days in Haiti to do youth ministry. While I excited for her I am also worried. I would appreciate positive thoughts and Prayers for her and her friends on their trip. They have all worked very hard to raise the money for their trip.  an angelic monkey
Oh what a great opportunity for her! I am sure she will be fine and bring home memories that will last a lifetime. My thoughts are with her, and you!

What an adventure! Prayers for a safe and profitable mission!

Yipeeeeee  We are getting rain. We need it. It started about 4 this morning and suppose last almost all week. We have had almost an inch so far. While it's not a lot every little bit helps.  That and it's only 73 here today. Win win all the way around.

More rain here in North Texas. Yipeeeeee!!  Not only are the lakes levels starting to go up instead of down. The temps are staying down too.  Got up to 88 today and the rain came in and dropped to 74 here. Wonderful.

Hope everyone's doing well. Continued Prayers for all in need. an angelic monkey

Granddaughter is having a wonderful experience with her Haiti trip. Thank you all for the prayers for her and her youth group.

Oh! Me too! I just knew ahe would have a wonderful experience. Happy that you can relax about it a bit, GE!

Your weather in TX is better than ours in VA. LOL

But besides the squirrels eating my tomatoes, I have no complaints.

Anyone know a good method to stop them from doing that?!

I have decided to make love, not war, with the squirrels and loaded up the birdfeeder with stuff they like to eat... not seen one squirrel partake yet. Seen a few cardinals and robins though.

Try mixing some hot pepper sauce in water and spraying the tomatos - you can wash it off but the animals will not like it.

Brandi- put a net over your vegetable garden.  Put four stakes around it and drape a net over that.  Works for some people I know!!

Yum - fresh tomatoes!!

Mix some hot peppers in with the bird seed. Capsaicin, (the component in peppers that makes our mouths burn) is too hot for mammals to tolerate, but is completely tasteless to birds.

GreenEyes,

Good wishes and prayers for your Granddaughter!

Without giving out to many details, I am curious, is she living in a tent?  What on earth is she doing with her goodwill mission?

God Bless her and the Haitians!

Seahorse,  From what I have been told there is a facility that a group of churches has built to house youth groups from all over. Kind of a mini motel type place attached to a church. Then they bus them to different places in Haiti. This trip they have been at a local orphanage. They have helped paint buildings and had craft time with the children, bible study etc.  I don't think I have seen so many smiling & happy faces as in the pictures my son has sent.

Took all three grand kids to the movies today. Stopped and had lunch before the movie. Took them to see the new Transformer movie.  Very loud and very long. They all loved it. It's been awhile since we all of all been together having an outing.

You've inspired me.  Think I will go to the movies tomorrow.  Last time I went I saw "Horton Gives a Who" or something like that.  Any suggestions anyone?  You can tell what kind of movies I favor.

I watched Frozen at home last night - checked it out at the library.  It was cute.  Not sure it was as great as I had heard.

My daughter went to see Fault in our Stars.  Haven't see it but read the book.  It's a tear jerker and PG17 I believe.

I don't tach many movies or go to the theaters either- but that is my two cents.

Thanks Caddy (shack) lol,
I heard it is a tear jerker too.  I have enough of that in my real world.
Going out today to help find a friend's son.  It hasn't even made the papers yet.  He went missing Monday.  His name is Shane Gandy.  Everyone please be in prayer.  His Mom believes he is a runaway.
Blessings.
