Hi Cookie, Brandi, and good monkeys!

Life is good!

It only takes a teaspoon of courage, to get through the day.  Sing a song, hum a tune, and keep marching forward.

Finally, it's over. It's been a long 4 months of paying for two mortgages, two electricity bills, two cable/internet bills, two water bills, two phone bills, two homeowners insurance bills, and probably some others that I can't think of right now.  All of that after having nearly depleted our savings to pay the downpayment on our new place. Just keeping up with and paying all those bills on time was a fulltime job! But, we finally got everything out of the old place and got the old place spiffed up, having scrubbed walls, floors, etc.

I had placed a For Sale sign out 4 months ago, when we closed on our new house, and 18 people left their phone numbers with me. I told them I'd call them when we were ready to show it. I didn't dare show it until I was happy with how clean it was and had staged it a bit. I never placed an ad for it, since I had so many people already interested in it. So, on Saturday, we let the first person who called come in and we showed it to him and his wife. They bought it that day. Wrote us a check for our asking price! They also asked for immediate possession, and we granted that. I was concerned a bit because all the utilities were still on, in our name. But I managed to get the phone disconnected that night. The electricity was to be disconnected on Monday, and Comcast says our cable and internet has been disconnected as of Tuesday. They are switching the water over to their name, and I think we can finally close that chapter. I also had the unpleasant job of calling the other 17 people to let them know it had been sold. But I think I have done everything now and we are officially out of the old place and in our new place, although we have been living here for months.

It's surprising to me that I felt the sale (which was really financially important) bittersweet. Our new place is infinitely better for us, larger, in a great location, with so much more to offer us, but I felt a little sad leaving our old place when we handed over the keys and said goodbye. Now we have to locate all the comcast equipment, (3 TV boxes, remotes and the cable modem) box them up and return them to comcast, and that will be done. We love our new triple-play with Verizon FIOS at the new place. It's cheaper (locked in for two years) than comcast's double play we had for 14 years!

I'll certainly not miss the 40-mile trip over to the old place to pack and transport boxes in my SUV over and over. With our 15-year old dog in the backseat! (She has become very attached to me, and frets when I am not with her, so I took her with me every time. I think she may have a touch of dementia along with her deafness, which makes her so dependent on me.)

Wanted to share the great news about our move being finished! Started in the Spring, and finished before Autumn. LOL

I know this is a long post, but I am just making up for all the time I have been too busy and too overwhelmed to make posts here over the past few months. Wink

P.S. Hi Seahorse! I did see you say hi to me. I have been keeping up with reading here. I think I may start doing jumping jacks outside too!

Well, it's never a dull moment in my life.

One of Connie's sons who had been keeping her dog, Mr. Jenkins, now tells me the dog will be going to the pound because he and his (evil) wife can't afford to keep him.  That is total BS as they both work at a university.  Pleaaassee!!!

So now I am trying to find Mr. Jenkins a new home.  Lord help me.

I am happy for all monkeys.  Hi Greeneyes

Brandi
, All  of my avatars (and myself) are happy for  you! Smile

Have you tried jump jacks outside?  It is a paradise outside and heavenly to jump around outside among the fresh flowers, beautiful scents and the garden growing.

Brandi (or monkey friends) do you have any suggestions how to build up the top of the arms like Popeye?  I know one monkey
stands on her head Smile does that help?  I am not doing pushups, that will build up arms, but not mine.

I am looking for a full size hula hoop, the smaller hoops do not work for me.  I will hula hoop, outside, soon.

Brandi are you canning?  drying out herbs?

Your dog loves the loyalty you show, Brandi. Dog's are so worth every last day we give them friendship.  I am a friend through thick and thin for dog friends.  I do not abandon them when the chips are down, either.

Missed you    Glad you are back

Toot, Toot!

Just a cute story to make you  all smile:

Y'all know my Siberian Husky's name is Cadillac,  aka Caddy, aka The Criminal.

Well I had a houseguest who came with a friend to spend the night.  We had never met.  When she got out of her car, there goes Caddy all over her - jumping and a humping.  It is so embarrassing and exhausting.  I apologized for "Caddy's" behavior.  She laughed and said her daughter had a Siberian Husky as well.

In a few minutes, she pulled up a picture of her daughter's husky on her phone.  The dog was IDENTICAL to The Criminal.  The she says, "meet Cadillac."  I looked at her strangely, because I was sure I had called my mutt Caddy.  I said "what did you say?"  She said " Meet Cadillac - my daughter's dog."

I then told her that was actually Caddy's name too!

We laughed all night because who in the world would think two identical Siberian Husky's from two different towns would end up with the same name??

Shut the front door!!!

Love to all - Chubbie and the Criminal
