Hey Bearly -    how are you?

Baby bear - are you still reading here?  Think of you often and hope all is well in your personal life and with your health.  Hope you are enjoying travels and some trips to the casino.

My Mom was 94 last Sunday.  Two friends and I took her to the casino on Saturday.
We had lunch there and they fussed over her and server brought dessert and sang happy birthday. Sunday we celebrated again, at my home.  She has learned a new game from the ladies at her apartment.  Bid euchre.  She has taught us how to play and it's quite fun.

Further on Tuesday she took her driver's lic. tests.  She no longer drives but wanted lic. for photo i.d. purposes.  Her score was 100 out of a 100.  She seemed nonplussed.
Said she would have been surprised if she got less, since test was so easy.  Tests for those 80 and older have been changed.  My understanding is that it's mostly to weed out dementia., stroke damage, etc.

Good morning! I have been reading but not checking in. Brandi - if it gets below 15 or so may want to kick over to the aux heating  = that is about the lowest it is efficient to run the heat pump. Ours has been off for a couple of weeks - yesterday we got up to 20!!!! Got the shorts and flip flops out!  Another wind chill warning for today into tonight. I tell you, love these kids, but they need to go back to school!  I think they miss the routine too.

I am still laid up with the stupid leg. Been since October when I hurt it, and December when I finally dragged my butt into the doc. I have a Achilles tear. Just partial thank goodness, but seems to have been caused by or caused some tendinitis. The ortho who my doc sent me to is worthless. Did the PT and the cast, now I have, by his words, exhausted the conservative treatment. So he is referring me to another ortho - which I can not get into until March 12th. Meanwhile, I am supposed to be taking it easy. Kinda over that. May just go back to life and see what happens.  I am trying to be a good patient but am sort of over no one doing any thing. Monkey Devil!

Have you been in a cast since December?  If so, that's nasty.  Particularly when you have children to care for.  Must be so frustrating.  Hope the specialist you're seeing on the 12th can help you.

Lucky that I was only casted for a month. The original ortho is not happy how long the second opinion is taking to get me in so I go see him on Tuesday and he is going to discuss surgery. I am excited - not because I am looking forward to surgery, but I am looking forward to moving forward with recovery as opposed to just hanging out waiting!

TBM -  Glad to hear you have not been in a cast all this time.  Good luck with new ortho.  Hope surgery is not necessary, but if so, hope it soon and recovery is swift.

Well, after another round of 7" of snow last week, we are getting another 3-4" (prediction as of now) of snow tomorrow afternoon. Starting out as rain, turning to sleet, then snow. Tomorrow's low is to be 15º and Friday's low, 12º.

Have I mentioned that most of us here in Virginia are sick and tired of this stuff? LOL

To top it off, it was 60º here today, and we still have piles of the white stuff where hubby shoveled the drive and walkways.

TBM: Am thinking of you tonight and tomorrow. On your way to recovery!

Welcome home!

Glad you are already home and will soon have meds to ease your pain.

Sounds like you will have a very lengthy recovery period, but hopefully you will heal well and completely!

Thanks for checking in!

Wow TBM  I thought you would be in until tonight. Glad all went well and you are home. Sorry you are having pain. The meds should help. Are you going to get one of those knee chairs? Don't know what they are really called. So you can get around without putting any weight on your foot & leg. Continued prayers for a speedy recovery. Remember this to shall pass. At least you know there is going to be an end to your recovery. Now that you had your surgery.  an angelic monkey

Continued Prayers for you & your family can It does this old heart good to hear such happy news about your mom.
