Happy belated Birthday TBM

Today was my scheduled maintenance on the generator. They even wax the unit...I could use them doing housework. Bet they don't wax anything in their own homes.

Tomorrow going to the local animal control. This year for Christmas each of us will pay for the spay/neuter, shots and licencing for an older cat or dog for senior citizens to adopt cost free. Trying to get the county commission to start a program similar to this because the need is great for older pets and a proven benefit for seniors.

The donks are doing great and are just full of themselves as usual. Mac is getting so old that he spends most of his time napping...a real couch potato. Does not like the cold at all.

Keeping all the monkeys in my thoughts.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

The idea for seniors and animals is so great. I know that my mom would be lost without her cat - even though she has lots of people around - we are not there 24/7 so she has someone to take care of and just be there.  You are an angel for doing that for someone!

Yes those in the path of this storm be safe. We got it yesterday and early this morning. Ended up with about 3 inches of icy rain. Wont be going any where for a few days. We are lucky here no power outage or down trees. East of us not so much. Hope everyone stays safe & warm.

Hope our Monkeys that are still in the path of the storm stay safe and warm. The east coast is getting it now. Today we will be above freezing for the first time in almost 4 days.  That's a long time for us Texas Monkeys. Still have solid ice all over the roads here. We had 2/3 inches of ice on our back porch we couldn't open the door. So hubs had to go break it up and shovel it away from the door so we could open it.

Continued prayers for all our Monkeys in need. Stay safe & warm

Good to hear from you GE. Been thinking of you with this weather. I know your area is not used to this mess. Babs is also okay?

Yes, we are getting it as we speak... ice has been accumulating from a freezing rain earlier and we are getting intermittent sleet. Hubby has treated our porch with "ice melt" since Brandi has already slipped a couple of times during her potty breaks.

She is 14 now, and just had her annual physical Friday. They found a urinary tract infection, and we are now treating her with an antibiotic. She has had incontinence for the past 18 months and has been on Proin (she hates the "delicious liver flavored pills" and I have to cut them up and hide the pieces in a pill pocket.) She often still spits a piece or two of it out! LOL And she has to take it twice a day. My suspicion of arthritis in her hind parts was correct. I have been giving her a buffered, non-coated aspirin 2x/day for the past month, and the vet said to go ahead with that treatment. She did say I should also be giving her 10mg of PepcidAC with the aspirins to help minimize any stomach irritation. But overall, she did well with the physical. Being deaf has really helped at the vets. She had a great time, not being able to hear other dogs and cats and people walking around and doors opening and closing. Much less anxiousness. And she was such a nice girl when they had her on the table, although she kept looking at me, as if to say, "Can't you make these people stop?" She had blood pulled and was due for all of her shots! Every single one of them. Happy to report she had almost no lethargy or soreness the next day. So, here's to another happy, healthy year for her!

Yes Babs is ok too. Just stuck in the house due to all the ice. Neither one of us will try driving on it. I am very glad we are warming up some so the ice can start to melt.  Daughter went out yesterday and it took her 3 hours to make a 15 mile round trip to the store and they spun out three times. Not my idea of fun. But she got her Christmas tree.

Hope you guys stay safe and warm. Glad to hear Brandi did so well at the vets. Poor baby with a urinary tract infection. But her meds should clear it up. Give her a hug from me. So happy she is doing well. I t sounds like she handled all her shots well too.

Youngest son will be here for Christmas this year. So happy now if we could get the oldest one to make the trip.

Hi you all!
Brandi...glad that Brandi is hanging  in there...those pill pockets are the best aren't they.

It is cold here and I hate it. If kids would move, hubs and I would move to warmer climate.

Hope all is good with everyone.

Hi cookie! Good to see you post. Your posts are too far and few between!

Yes, pill pockets are great, but darn it, she has started spitting out the fragments of pills I put in them again! Now that she has to take 4 pills twice a day. (aspirin, proin, pepcidac and antibiotic each twice a day) I pick the fragments up off the floor and wrap them in another pill pocket each time. It's getting real expensive, those pill pockets aren't cheap. LOL

I know what you mean about the cold. I really, really love the spring and summer and early fall. Just love being in the sun, now that I am taking extra Vit. D and sitting out in the sun during those months for an hour or so for the Vit. D. Also makes me feel so much better then!

One nice snow a year, and I am done with cold months! Bring on the spring!

Hi Brandi!  Have you tried putting her pills in some soft bread with some peanut butter or cream cheese rolled in a ball? Smush it all together.

Works for my mutts when I have tablets.
