Oh, that's great news, 4 Donks!!!

Mine, well, isn't so great yet. Last night, realtor emailed and said the appraisal was "fine." So we got all excited for our close on Wednesday.

This morning, he forwards an email from our lender saying the loan was approved with one stipulation: the leaking pipe needs to be fixed. (The seller's bank said they would not do it.) So now he is going back to the seller and asking for permission for us to have it repaired and then we can have a letter from a licensed plumber sent to say it is fixed.
Waiting now on the seller to give us that permission. If they do not, the deal is dead. We won't be able to buy it because our lender will not approve the loan.

So it's pins and needles again. 50-50 on if they will allow us to fix it. *sigh*

Furniture maker renews warning after 2 kids die
February 27, 2014

NEW YORK (AP) — Lane Home Furniture is urging people to check if they own a cedar chest it stopped making nearly 30 years ago, after two children recently suffocated to death inside the chest.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said a latch on the chest automatically locks when closed. Lane originally recalled about 12 million of the chests in 1996 after other deaths, but the chests are still being bought at second-hand stores or handed down by families.
The chests were made between 1912 and 1987 and can be identified by the Lane and Virginia Maid brands inside of them.
Consumers who own the chest should immediately remove the latch and Lane at 800-327-6944 for replacement hardware.
The CPSC says a total of nine children have died inside the chests. The two who recently died were a brother and sister from Franklin, Mass., who were 7 and 8 years old.

I remember those chest Muffy. In fact in my senior year all the girls at school got a mini chest from them to keep small mementos in. Still have mine packed some where I think. Lost so many things when we moved to Texas. To many helpers when I was packing. Taking stuff to Goodwill that shouldn't have gone.

Thank you, Green Eyes.

Sorry you lost personal items in your move to Texas.

I know how it feels. Sometimes I see stuff in auctions where I used to have one that looked just like it ... I want to get it, but realize it's just because I used to have one, I don't really need it anymore. heh

I hear you Brandi. I had so much STUFF that I didn't and couldn't use it all any more that is true. It just makes me sad that some of the things that went missing were memory things. Hopefully they found good homes.

Took grandson to the movies today. Had a good time. He is now trying to decide what the next movie he wants to see. But senice Grandma doesn't like blood and guts or scary movies it's had to find one. Or so I am told.

I still have my 67' vintage Lane Cedar hope chest, its so full of "stuff" never gave any thoughts of kids climbing into.  In fact my sis has my moms 1930's hope chest with a similar latch, guess we should probably think about changing out although kids are grown but they will probably end up in a thrift shop once we are gone......Kids don't seem to have sentimental feelings anymore...guess its the "throw away" generation, keepsakes seem a thing of the past.

GE, I still have my mini chest too.........those were the days!

Here we go again!

Cold temps to go along with it, close to freezing for highs through Wed.

Hubby has to drive north towards DC Tuesday morning too, for immigration appointment. Supposed to be icy.

This is just getting ridiculous. We live in the 7" of snow area.

We had temps in the 70s Saturday, sunny too. Spent a few hours outside working on the yard, enjoying the day.

And now this. Is sleeting now.

Bah Humbug!

Hi all!
Donks...good news on your scan.

Brandy...the house will go through. Fingers crossed. Not a huge thing to gave a pipe fixed. Shouldn't banks grow a brain? Before they would beg people to take out a loan on a house without hardly any criteria. Now you have to almost promise your first born child to get them to look at you! Grrrrrrr....

Will do!

Just went out to feed the birds. It's still snowing. LOL

Even Brandi seemed to act like she has had enough of this white stuff. She came right in with me, didn't even look at me like she wanted to stay out in it.

Two days ago, I was lounging in the sun in shorts. Could build a snowman today.
