GE,
Yes, at least you are keeping your driving skills up.  Or at least that's what I told myself when I was making numerous highway trips to Mom's before she moved to my area.

Hope you are finding some time for yourself.

Hi Everyone...

Waiting for the weather to warm up to get Bailey and Jazz clipped for the summer. They both look like wooly mammoths. With all the rain we've had I'm way behind on bush hogging and general maintenance of the property.

Hobbs is doing well. Thank you Brandi for the fine art work..I saved it to my computer. Hobbs did manage to steal a pouch of chewing tobacco out of a man's pocket while we were trying to get him on his feet and up in the sling. While the vet is contemplating putting him down he's stealing.. . Got to love that little brat.

Hello Monkey's!

Ever wondered about the origins of Cinco de Mayo?

Why do we celebrate Cinco de Mayo?

By Todd Leopold, CNN

Updated 6:30 AM ET, Mon May 4, 2015

(CNN) Guacamole and fajitas. Mexican flags and mariachi bands. Margaritas, beer -- and more beer. (Sometimes with lime, thanks to that clever marketing campaign.)

It's May 5, and America is celebrating Cinco de Mayo -- but why?

The Mexican holiday is still celebrated in Mexico, but the local tributes pale next to the giant celebration in the United States, complete with restaurant specials, high-volume advertising and endless promotion. Here are five things you should know about May 5,

http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/04/living/feat-cinco-de-mayo-5-things/index.html

Have a happy Cinco de Mayo day, to our Texas Monkey's and to all who celebrate.  :Hat's off to Todd Leopold, for keeping our minds opened and informed.

Good morning,

Well, my sister Connie became a grandmother for the first time Saturday.  Can't believe I was the one who told her.
Going to see her tomorrow -- thanks to all of you for keeping her candles lit.
Blessingss.

Congratulations to your sister on becoming a grandmother for the first time.  I hope in time she will see the baby.  I know you will find a way to get a photo to her.

Well, Mom buried her husband recently.  He went into palliative care on the 10th so it was not unexpected.
My daughter and family are back home and son flew out this morning.

We will take Mom to visit her son next weekend.  My brother was too ill to attend the funeral, but bless his heart, he has been calling her daily.

Been pretty quiet around here!

Update on my leg - it is healing well, not much pain - just some swelling. Walking in a boot now and in about 4 weeks I get that off! Hoping to get back to normal soon!

This weekend we head off to graduation for the big one. He is graduating with three majors and a minor - kid worked his behind off. He will be then heading to Wisconsin to start work to save some money to go to grad school. Hard to believe my baby is all grown up!

Hope you all are well.

Thanks TBM.  I think we will all enjoy the visit.  My daughter is joining us and also my brothers' daughter.  He asked if we could bring her along since he hasn't seen her since she was diagnosed with stage 5 CKD.  We will be celebrating his/our birthday and we want to fuss over him.

Taking my 94 year old Mom for tooth extractions today.  I understand that older people can go into shock.  Please keep her in your thoughts.

Sister, TBM, Caddy,  -  thank you all so much!    She came through it with flying colors! no bleeding, no pain, didn't even feel the two needles.  Her canine was long and strong and the other tooth was imbedded.  She is one strong little gal, all 86 pounds of her!

Thank you Lord!   an angelic monkey
