I've been thinking a lot about the info that the very FIRST person Beth Twitty spoke to was a DEA agent, who 'just happened to be in Aruba on other business.'  Nothing more has ever been said about this, but I've wondered all along if the DEA was working in conjunction with the Aruban police to uncover something larger.  All just speculation I know -- simply my own mind going over and over and over the little info we have.

pinemeadows - although you say that this has been discussed extensively on other forums, I, though browsing several other related sites, haven't seen it.  Perhaps others haven't seen it either.

My opinion was that his remarks were meant to dehumanize her and lead me to believe that he took a direct part in whatever happened to her.

I could be wrong, but that's the feeling I get from that.

I just discovered this forum today - It seems to have a lot of news that one cannot get  on tv - I have one big question that even FOX has not seemed to be able to answer - Has Paul Van der sloot been allowed to see his son yet - I have seen rumors that he has but FOX has not mentioned it at all - I find it hard to be able that over a week has gone by and a 17 year old has not been allowed to see his father. Many have questioned Aruban justice and how slow it is - I on the other hand find some of it a whole lot more harsh than the U. S.  I doubt seriously that these 3 young men would even be in jail in the U.S.  How long did it take before Scott Peterson was arrested - So please people quit acting like Aruba is not harsh enough. And what about Jon Benet Ramsey - where is her killer - and how long did it take to find Chandre Levy??  And was the Congressman in jail during that time?  Ok I have vented - but I would really like to know if Joran's father has been allowed to see him!!

I would bet anything he has -

1.  case is stymied, just spinning in circles - boys not opening up other than a story change that leads nowhere....

2.  judge rules he can see Joran

3.  suddenly case no longer stymied....situation changes almost immediately.....

and you all thought i was "horrible" when i said someone needs to talk to these three boys parents to "encourage" them to tell what has happened to Natalee, and end the torture for her family - one way or another.

Perhaps my methods was wrong - I freely admit that - but I believed then, and believe now that these boys do not have evil parents - and that their parents should have been encouraged to talk to their sons about honor in this case.....

It seems that papa Van Der Sloot was talked to by many....did talk to son...and suddenly son is telling all.  At least that is what it looks like to me.

If this is true, then there might be a scenario worth considering. If you go to that site with the problem link:

Type in "www.geocities.com/proud_college_republican/" but be sure to add the "http://". Some people have had a problem with a file....I am not giving a direct link. But check the second large picture of the Marriott....the beach picture. There are small boats and a dock. There are also some objects that look to be like large floats or something. I won't put out the idea of a boat trip scenario to some other place just yet.

3 observations:

1. Everything from the Aruba officials up to now has been "We can't say",
"We can't comment on the investigation", etc. When they make an OFFICIAL annoncement like this morning, that is a sign of a MAJOR event and this truly could be the turning point. Finally!

2. There has always been implicit in all this the statements of the bros that Natalee fell into the hands of an unknown person, in BOTH their stories.This is (other than the security guard flap) the 1st sign of that. Even Joran acts like he is hiding someone else's involvement. There is SOME "post-Joran" mystery here, I simply cannot believe that he decided that OK, tonight's the night I kill an American girl and that is the end of it. Something BEYOND all that deal in the car, some kind of history, is there.

3. This whole scenario says to me that there are darker and more complicated mysteries to me, things involving the youth sulture in Aruba and its connections with the drug/gambling/pornography lifestyle... things which we may not have conception of in America.

I REALLY want this girl to be still alive. I am getting more hopeful.

In addition to wondering if Joran has actually been allowed to see his father - I am curious if down in Aruba - Mr. Van der sloot has given any interviews??  I would be very curious as to how he sounds and what he says - on another forum he was discribed as trash??  I wish Greta would interview him!

I heard on some earlier news report, days ago, that if a person is convicted of kidnapping, or some other crimes, they can be extradited to the US...

Currently I can not name ANY country without death penalty where their judicial system accept requests of extradition from a country where the death penalty could be applied to the people extradicted.
