Robert Seth Walter Foundation for Technology Education

Thank you for all of your prayers during this very difficult time. As many of you know Robert LOVED technology and was very excited to begin studying at UMKC this Fall. This fund has been established to assist students with the expense of books and supplies. We would like to provide as many scholarships as possible in honor of Robert.

If you would like to make a donation to Robert's fund via mail please send to:

Greater Kansas City Community Foundation
1055 Broadway, Suite 130
Kansas City, MO 64105
Attn: Robert Seth Walter for Technology Education Scholarship Fund

We will have a site set up soon to accept online donations through Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. We will post as soon as that information is available.

We will provide updates on this site with the scholarships your donations were able to provide.

an angelic monkey I would like to share the following entry that was left in Robert's online guest book...

August 25, 2013 Mr and Mrs Walter, I am so sorry to hear of Robert's passing. I only met him once, but the impression he left was unforgettable. Robert was my Apple Specialist a month ago. His knowledge, sense of humor, and caring nature was evident in his customer service. We talked about UMKC law school (my husband went to UMKC law), American Idol auditions, music and singing, and how to make sense out of my IPhone 5 and Mac computer. As I finished with my appointment, Robert said that it was a blessing that we got to work together that day. He was partially right, the blessing was that I got to meet Robert for an hour in the Apple Store. Thank you for raising such a special young man. I will continue to pray for your family at this difficult time.

an angelic monkey   an angelic monkey

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone will stay that way,
I found that peace at close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
 A friendship shared, a laugh a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I, too, will miss.

But not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life has been full, I've savoured much.
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief,
Lift up you hearts and share with me,
 God wanted me now,
 He set me free.

Help Bring Robert Home
8 minutes ago via mobile.

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that Robert's body has been found. It appears as though he had been in a horrible car accident and was found submerged in a pond. We appreciate all of your efforts, support and prayers. We will keep you up to date with information regarding service arrangements. We ask at this time that you allow the family time to grieve and find understanding in this tragedy.

Robert was an adventurous spirit and loved by many. He is gone, but never forgotten. His legacy will live on through his friends and the work they will do for his favorite cause; gay rights.

So sad    RIP Robert

Help Bring Robert Home
15 hours ago near Independence, MO.

Today we laid Robert to rest and shared memories of his crazy antics and zest for life. He was one of a kind and through our memories we will heal, laugh and sometimes cry. If we take only one thing away from this tragedy it is that life if precious and to live each day as if it were the last. Robert marched to the beat of his own drum and loved every second of it as we all should.

Thank you to those who shared this day with us and to his Apple family for making his final farewell unique, inspiring and heartwarming. I know that he was with us.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who shared updates, searched, prayed and offered kind words. It was your strength that carried us through this dark time and will continue to carry us as we heal and move forward.

We love you all and are forever in debt to you!
