Jodi Arias: Lawyers Will Withdraw if Jury Finds Out She Wanted Kirk Nurmi Fired
Thu., Feb. 13 2014 at 5:19 PM

Jodi Arias doesn't want her new jury to know what she thinks of her lawyer, or about a former cellmate who claims Arias wants prosecutor Juan Martinez killed.

Two motions filed in Maricopa County Superior Court today ask Judge Sherry Stephens to stop the information from coming out in the upcoming sentencing-phase trial.

If the new jury hears about an October 22nd handwritten motion Arias made for a change of counsel, both of her lawyers will have to withdraw from the case, one of the new motions states.

I'm just sick and tired of so much emphasis on Jodi Arias. Why does it seem it's all about her?

I hope there will be peace for the family, friends and co-workers of Travis Alexander.  May he rest in peace.  an angelic monkey

Just a reminder that the trial will not begin on March 17 as scheduled:

Jodi Arias Trial: Sentencing Phase Not Rescheduled Yet by Judge
February 27, 2014
The sentencing phase for Jodi Arias still hasn’t been decided on after an abrupt postponement earlier this month.

Jury selection for the sentencing phase was supposed to start on March 17. That date was set after months of hearings.

No Plea Deal! Jodi Arias WILL Be Tried Again For Death Penalty Sentence In Brutal Murder Of Travis Alexander
Posted on Mar 17, 2014 @ 12:47PM

Despite her handwritten pleas and multiple legal filings, Jodi Arias is facing the death penalty and will be tried again in the sentencing phase following her conviction of first degree murder for the brutal slaying of Travis Alexander.

Prosecutor Juan Martinez will again try and convince a jury that Arias should be put to death, rather than stay behind bars for the rest of her life.  If the jury is deadlocked again the judge will make the decision if she faces life in jail with or without the possibility of parole.

Sheriff's office bans Jodi Arias defense aide from jail
March 18, 2014

PHOENIX -- A colored-pencil drawing of a pinwheel has gotten a member of Jodi Arias' defense team banned from the Phoenix jail where she's being held until her murder case's penalty phase starts in September.

Mitigation specialist Maria De La Rosa was accused of trying to take the drawing by Arias out of the jail last month.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office officials said the drawing is contraband and De La Rosa cannot deliver things for Arias, who was convicted in May of first-degree murder in the 2008 killing of her boyfriend.

As of last Friday, De La Rosa has been banned from the jails that are run by the sheriff's office although she has at least five other clients facing the death penalty.

"I believe that it's a stupid publicity stunt by MCSO that is consistent with their harassment of inmates at the jail," Dan Raynak, an attorney for De La Rosa, said Tuesday. "She can't have any private calls from jail and can't send or receive any letters from her clients. That undermines the attorney-client privilege."

As a mitigation specialist, De La Rosa gathers evidence and anecdotes from the defendant's life in an attempt to persuade jurors against imposing the death penalty.

De La Rosa was carrying the drawing in a packet of legal papers and apparently was taking them to Arias' attorneys.

"She basically was acting as a conduit," MCSO Deputy Chief Jack MacIntyre said. "She can't circumvent the rules. She's not a rookie at this business. She knows what the contraband rules are for the jails."

As a mitigation specialist, De La Rosa gathers evidence and anecdotes from the defendant's life in an attempt to persuade jurors against imposing the death penalty.

Raynak said he planned to meet with attorneys for the sheriff's office to work toward a solution to getting De la Rosa's ban lifted.

Keeping De La Rosa from her clients in jail could present trial issues for them because they are entitled to present mitigation in their cases, Raynak said.

Arias' artwork was presented in her first sentencing trial, and her lawyer said the confiscated drawing was of potential use in the mitigation case.

<respectfully snipped by Tamikosmom>

I went to see the GYN. Specialist on Monday! He was the dr, that got my treatments rolling, with his confirmation that it was cancer.

Monday he said (treatments) looked successful, because he could neither feel or see any cancer, he ordered blood tests, which confirmed that, I am severely enemic and my blood is thin and also my blood count (red and white)  is almost normal. Ok on feb 22nd I will do a pet scan to confirm that, there's no cancer left. If anyone of you have had a pet scan you will know that! You fast and drink a lot of water the day before, if there's any cancer, the pet scan will light up like a Christmas tree, in the cancer areas.

My daughter's MIL just had a pet scan at Vancouver's cancer center last week.  It had been about four months since her surgery for breast cancer.  She explained to me that she was praying that the affected area would not light up like a Christmas tree and ... PRAISE GOD ... it didn't.  Akin to you ... her strength is taking it time returning to normal but ... when she looks back where she was four months ago ... she realizes there is progression.

Our church's ladies' prayer chain continue to uphold "loca" in prayer.

Happy Valentines Day!

Ok hello everyone update
On February 10th my GYN dr ordered a pet scan to confirm how much cancer was left.  The pet scan showed that the cervical cancer had mastesised to the liver. One spot 3 cm long I don't think that I'm a candidate for liver surjery. It's not considered liver cancer, because it did not originate in the liver. It's cervical cancer, the dr will talk to a liver surjeon, there' are other treatment options. I did a ct scan a week ago . I had a blood transfusion! At the end of the first unit, I broke out in hives, it was Friday and my liver biopsy was scheduled for, Monday at 9:30 am
So I'm waiting for my dr to return. During this time, as I awaited, my pet scan results! My aunt got her pet scan results same day. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, in her lungs, cervix, liver and other areas. The cancer got in her blood stream, causing massive leg swelling. She was given 6-9 months to live, she didn't quite make it two weeks. As I was awaitng my liver biopsy she passed away.  I am fighting for my life, and am optimistic, I have no more cancer in the pelvic or cervix. Hey I'm still here! Last July as I began my cancer journey! I weighed 172
I'm down to 130
All I can say is god is faithful! Thank you to all of you for your prayers. I've been so fatigued!
Just wanted to update you. I'll be back when, I get. Liver biopsy results.
Thank you
For keeping me in prayer

I haven't seen much in the news lately about Jodi Arias.  I don't care about her art work, her tweets or anything.  I'm waiting for her punishment to be decided for the murder of Travis Alexander.

OT- It's good to hear from you loca!

Thanks you for sharing loca.  It has been a while.

It was not the outcome we were praying for but this is where faith enters the scenario ... faith that our Heavenly Father ... who loved us so much ... hold our lives in His hands.  At times it is difficult to comprehend but in those moments of doubt ... others upholding us in prayer affords the required strength ... encouragement ... peace of mind ... to endure.  My daughter's mother-in-law shared that out of the depths of despair following breast cancer surgery a relationship with Christ emerged ... a relationship she had never experienced since making that personal decision to follow Christ over sixty years ago.

Love, Janet

Philippians 4:6-7

Fret not about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus
