It is a stretch for Nurmi to accuse people of this.
It's not like they were singing Let's Kill Gary Kilmore.

They "said" they were singing about some restaurateur.
La Cucaracha. Nurmi implied it was a slant at his team, the lady who is
Hispanic.

Although, on second thought La Cucaracha does mean The Cockroach.

Jodi Arias update: Details revealed over courtroom closure

PHOENIX - The judge at Jodi Arias' sentencing retrial felt the convicted murderer was being manipulative when she said she wouldn't testify unless the public was barred from the courtroom, but still kicked out the public over concerns over how an appeals court may view her refusal to testify.

A transcript was unsealed Thursday of a closed-door hearing in late October in which the case's lawyers discussed Arias' request to have the courtroom cleared. Arias' attorneys argued social media posts on the trial could inspire people to send threats -- and that would affect Arias' ability to defend herself against the death penalty.

Arias won't address jury as sentencing retrial nears end

PHOENIX (AP) -- Convicted murderer Jodi Arias declined Monday to address a jury considering whether to sentence her to life in prison or death in the killing of her former boyfriend.

Arias said she wanted to make comments to jurors but insisted the courtroom be cleared. She said she wouldn't make any remarks if she could be seen and heard from a remote viewing room.

However, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens said an appeals court has forbidden Arias from making such comments behind closed doors.

Lawyers are scheduled to make closing arguments Tuesday in the proceeding that began in mid-October and has dragged on months longer than expected.

As much as I believe Jodi Arias deserves nothing less then the death penalty, this would result in years of appeals and attention seeking and putting the family and friends of Travis Alexander through more pain, I think her sentence should be life without parole.  End of drama.  JMHO

Jodi Arias' lawyer says ex-boyfriend sexually humiliated her
PHOENIX (AP) A lawyer for Jodi Arias pleaded for his client's life Tuesday as he told the jury deciding whether she'll be put to death that the ex-lover she killed sexually humiliated her and wanted to keep their trysts secret.

Defense attorney Kirk Nurmi began closing arguments in Arias' sentencing retrial by showing photos from happy moments in her life, such as an image of Arias resting her chin on boyfriend Travis Alexander's shoulder amid a forested background. Nurmi said Arias' problems stem from a personality disorder in which she tries to mold herself to the wishes of the men she dates.

Nurmi portrayed Arias' former boyfriend Travis Alexander as a man divided between his Mormon faith and sexual desires that led him to have relationships with several women. The attorney said Alexander used Arias to quench his sexual urges, called her demeaning names and told her she was soulless.

He asked jurors not to judge Arias entirely on her actions on the day of the killing, saying she is remorseful. "If you sentence Ms. Arias to death, you are killing this girl," Nurmi said, displaying a childhood photo of Arias and her brother.

Alexander's family abruptly left the courtroom once Nurmi started to read Arias' testimony in which she reflects on her former boyfriend's family.

The Alexander family returned to the courtroom shortly before prosecutor Juan Martinez was expected to begin making closing arguments.

Arias was convicted in 2013 of murdering Alexander, but her first jury deadlocked on her punishment. A jury that has been hearing testimony since mid-October will decide whether to sentence her to life in prison or death.

While I agree with you about Jodi deserving the DP and all the appeals she would do. And what those would do to Travis' family, and ending all her drama and put her away from the limelight she seeks. One part of me hopes she gets the DP. I hope what ever the jury decides that Travis' family feels justice has been served. They can find peace with it.

Nurmi dislikes her 9 out of 10 days, perhaps this was the one day he likes her so he offers to save her.

We have to remember and look back at the photos of Travis. What Jodi Arias did when she planned to murder him. The extent to which she went to in order to carry that out and cover up what she was going to do. That in itself deserves the Death Penalty.

I don't care if she sits in death row on her bed in a tiny cell alone and tries to manipulate her way through the court appeals system. Just her knowing day after day, year after year that she murdered a man for no good reason. Being remorseful after the fact is ridiculous for Nurmi to defend her on that. Let her live with it and then die for it. I think it would send the wrong message to other young girls that have boyfriends who reject them or use them for sex. Wake up call to women to stop being so willing to please a man in order to have one. Stand up for yourselves and learn how to love yourself. That is your protection against the cockroaches of society. I believe that Travis family will sleep safe and sound knowing Jodi is where she should be and justice was served.

I don't know what justice will hep bring some peace to the Alexander family -- whatever it is, is what I pray for . . .

Kermit, you are so correct about women learning to love themselves . . . it has to do with self-respect as well.

The jurors will start deliberating shorty. The Defense has finished. Nurmi ask them to make their decision on love & compassion. That made me ill. Where was her love & compassion when she slaughtered Travis. How long will the jurors be out?

Prayers for Travis' family. an angelic monkey
