This was originally posted on the Dylan Redwine Journey to Justice page, but it was deleted before I read it.  Curious, I read around and saw that the Durango Herald was supposed to be publishing a Mark, the poor grieving father that's being harassed article.

I don't think the article has come out yet...

Link to the post from Dylan's page:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B903GPyPwmk5WTVVemVqRDJBNDg/view?pli=1

Don't know who authors this blog, but I appreciate them making the post available for those of us that missed it!

http://radionewz.net/2015/07/dylan-redwine-warriors-pre-emptive-strike-at-durango-herald-over-coming-article/

I was really hoping they would do their research and see the truth, but honestly I'm not really surprised that didn't happen.  Not after the scathing Letter to the Editor from Naomi Beans that they also published, with her opinion that Elaine should just get over it.

Mark's support page on FB goes dark quite often, it's active the last time I checked.  The page gained likes by deceiving others with claims of being a page by Elaine's family, agreed to be taken down when an article or two came out about it, and then announced that Mark decided to keep it up for updates.  The rare updates have included (around Mother's Day) insinuating Dylan may have been distraught and committed suicide, and more recently that Elaine was the POI since Mark hadn't been contacted by LE and she had.  This is only one, of MANY disgusting pages they have been behind to hurt Dylan's family.  It's sickening!  When Dylan's warriors reacted and responded in kind, some of them went poof.  But now Mark's the victim?  GMAFB!

Mark and his group of internet bullies have been ruthless in their attacks on Dylan, everyone that loves him, and anyone that publicly supports them.  Most of the ones that have aligned themselves with Mark, have harassed other families of the missing as well.

SHAME ON YOU, Durango Herald.

This should have been an OPINION piece, if published at all!

Social media was quick to convict Mark Redwine
Online forums vilify much-maligned father for son’s death
By Chase Olivarius-Mcallister Herald staff writer Article Last Updated: Thursday, August 20, 2015 10:26pm

Quote
Though Mark Redwine has not been charged with any crime relating to his son’s death, the social-media campaign against him has been so vicious “as to shock a normal person’s conscience,” Redwine’s lawyer Christian Hatfield said in an interview Thursday.

Last week, Hatfield told the court that sites like Facebook contain “threats of violence, death threats, vandalism and intimidation so extreme that Mr. Redwine is forced to live mainly on the road as a trucker.”

The vitriol has rendered “Mark Redwine nearly unable to work, to live in his home without fear, or engage in many of the normal daily activities of life,” Hatfield wrote in response to Elaine Hall’s wrongful death lawsuit.

Freedom of speech?

Indeed, by June of this year, if you Googled Mark Redwine’s name, the first result was “Calling Mark Redwine,” a Facebook group with 3,784 “likes” where users posted photos of 6th Judicial District Attorney Todd Risberg to shame law enforcement into more vigorously pursuing Mark Redwine.

Mostly, it featured hundreds of posts accusing Mark Redwine of killing his son in terms so disturbing that much of its content is unprintable.

The legality of such sites is unclear, and they are difficult to police.

In June, The Durango Herald asked Facebook whether the group violated policies forbidding bullying, harassment and threats. Facebook said the group did not violate its standards. Shortly after the Herald began inquiring about the group, “Calling Mark Redwine” went dark without explanation, as did many Facebook-hosted sites of a similar bent.

Hatfield said that Redwine, whose home, car and belongings investigators have searched repeatedly, would by now have been eliminated as a suspect were it not for the “media debacle.”

Policing despite publicity

Earlier this summer, La Plata County Sheriff Sean Smith told the Herald’s editorial board that investigators were highly aware of online pitchforks aiming for Mark Redwine.

In a follow-up interview, Smith said public sentiment was not driving the investigation.

In a news release issued Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office said it had designated Mark Redwine a person of interest “based on evidence collected, inconsistent statements made by Mark Redwine, and his behavior throughout the investigation.”

Betsy is Mark's first ex-wife and the mother of two of his sons.

This article is not completely accurate. It has invited comments from pages such as Dylan Redwine - Search for the Truth that merged with Find Dylan Redwine and Find Dylan First. Three of the most vile pages that I've ever seen. Not only did they personally attack Elaine, Cory, Mike and other family members, they attacked Dylan himself. Imagine going after a child that was murdered! Hundreds of pages were created because each time a person commented, they were banned and deleted. Peoples personal profiles were reported for such attrocities as saying "Prayers to you Elaine". Elaine was even attacked when she wrote a very heartwarming letter to Dylan, her post was removed so many times that others started to copy and paste it for her.
Mark is not a victim here, I know that you probably think he is, he isn't. Mark is only a victim of his own actions. LPCSO deserves more credit than Mr. Hatfield is giving to them. Does he honestly believe that these seasoned detectives, with nothing to gain or lose, would actually rely solely upon facebook and a grieving mother to conduct their investigation? That's a slap in the face to all the officers that have dedicated thousands of hours into this investigation. Mr. Hatfield knows the laws, he's a lawyer afterall, he knows full well that a death certificate cannot be changed simply because a mother emplores the coroner to do so. Heck, if that were the case then thousands of death certificates would be changed on a daily basis. His assertions that Mark is so scared for his life, his property and his well being that he is forced to work as a truck driver is not only insulting to the millions of truck drivers in the world, but to the common sense of every person that makes a living on a daily basis. Mark isn't being forced on the road, he himself has stated many times that because of his job as a truck driver he rarely spent time at home. Remember Mr. Hatfield, your client maintains that he went to Walmart for groceries because he hadn't been home and didn't have food there. Not just the day that Dylan arrived but the day after as well.
The Durango Herald has their opinion, everyone does. I find it sad that a newspaper has gone to the level of making a person that is called a Person of interest in the murder of their son a victim of vitriol. There is a simple solution, unplug.

Guess it might be safe to say that Mark Redwine's had a really bad day.   Monkey Devil!

  Justice for Dylan!

So, Mark Redwine...how's that workin' for you?!!

Yesterday, I read somewhere that he's still trying to digest it all.  My guess is that his diapers have been full and plentiful.  I'm sure he considers the publicity about his countersuit and insinuations that FB vigilantes have lead the investigation as wins.  Maybe he wore something pretty last night to celebrate.

He works so hard to contradict everything LE does or Elaine says; and never lifted a finger for Dylan.

Cory has stated that Mark spent more time with Dylan in the three months after Elaine moved them than he had in the past three years.  He even stole a gift out of his bag that Dylan bought for Elaine on one of their trips, and then sent it to Elaine in Dec 2012.  He wanted to win in court.  He lost.  And he didn't communicate with Dylan at all until Dylan arrived in Durango November 18th, two months later.  The last picture of Dylan shows something was wrong, and I believe he was dead within hours.

A sweet innocent 13 year old boy.  His own father.

Justice is coming.

Dear God & Keeper of the Universe I come before you today to simply ask for justice for Dylan Redwine, I ask for retribution; I give thanks law enforcement has named a person of interest in Dyl's case, I ask for the wheels of justice to roll forward this year of 2015. I pray you help Elaine to get through this horrible time in her life, help her to get through her grief, this darkness & into the light the truth brings. Help the many broken hearts to heal. I ask that you provide your strength to those who are battling addictions, health problems, personal demons, or those having a rough time in their lives, help your children to overcome these hurdles. As always I ask you to reunite the estranged families, bring the lost or stolen home; & to never let the families of the lost lose hope they'll see their loved ones again, Amen

Dylan Redwine's death ruled a homicide; father ID'd as person of interest
By Stephen Hobbs

Dylan Redwine's mother, Elaine Hall, wipes a tear as she talks in her Monument, Colo. home Wednesday, August 19, 2015, about the news Wednesday that her son's death has been ruled a homicide and that her ex-husband, Dylan's father, Mark Redwine, has been named a person of interest in the homicide. Photo by Mark Reis, The Gazette

Quote
"It's encouraging," Dylan's mother, Elaine Hall, said in an interview at her Monument home on Wednesday. "Today's a good day in the journey for justice for Dylan."

Quote
"We will push until there's a trial, until there's a conviction," Hall said. Her husband, Mike, wore a bracelet with Dylan's name on it, and one of their cars has his picture on it. A painting of Dylan is the centerpiece in a wall of framed pictures in the Halls' living room.

Hall has long said she believes her ex-husband is responsible for Dylan's death, and she thought he had something to do with their son's disappearance since the day he went missing. She has publicly accused him of killing Dylan, lying about it and not cooperating with law enforcement, including on the TV show "Dr. Phil."

"He lied when we were married and he continues to lie today," she said. "It really bothers me when he says 'I'm going to live the life Dylan would want me to live.'"

Dylan would want his father to come forward, Hall said.

"Frustration is a daily activity. I'm frustrated that my son died, I'm frustrated his dad killed him, I'm frustrated it's been three years, I'm frustrated about many things," she said. But her family is strong. "Together as a family, we will move forward."

Quote
In January the La Plata County Sheriff's Office hired former FBI criminal profiler Pete Klismet to help with the case.

"Based on my involvement in the investigation, the decision they've arrived at is absolutely correct," he told The Gazette Wednesday. He declined to comment further.

In a clip from a "Dr. Phil" segment that aired in May, Redwine joined by phone as Elaine asked him to take another polygraph test and to allow her to walk through his house with investigators from the Sheriff's Office. He declined both requests.

"I don't owe the nation an explanation as to what I'm doing. Dylan is my son," Mark Redwine said on the show.

Dylan's brother, Cory, also appeared on the show and told Mark Redwine he owes Dylan an explanation.

The Sheriff's Office said that as part of their investigation, the Halls and Cory Redwine were cleared of any involvement in Dylan's death.

"I know he hears me, he hears me every day," Hall said. "I miss you (Dylan) and we're working on getting justice for you."

‘He would have called’
Mother of missing 13-year-old says someone knows where he is

Article Last Updated: Friday, November 23, 2012 8:47pm

IGNACIO – The mother of a 13-year-old boy, whom authorities have been searching for since he disappeared Monday around Vallecito, is convinced he didn’t vanish on his own volition.

JERRY McBRIDE/Durango Herald

11/23/12

Durango - Elaine Redwine said she feels helpless with no news of 13-year-old son Dylan’s whereabouts.

“He didn’t go on his own,” Elaine Redwine said of her son, Dylan, who was visiting his father, Mark Redwine, during Thanksgiving break.

The couple are divorced and she lives in Colorado Springs.

“Dylan wouldn’t have left willingly,” Redwine said during an interview at the home of a friend Friday afternoon. “If there was any way to communicate he would have called.”

A message left on Mark Redwine’s cellphone Friday was not returned.

The telephone at his residence at 2343 County Road 500 rang until it cut off.

Dylan is described as 5 feet tall, 105 pounds, blond hair. blue eyes and fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue-and-white Duke Blue Devils baseball cap, black Nike T-shirt and black Jordan tennis shoes.

Dylan was picked up Sunday by his father at Durango-La Plata County Airport, his mother said Friday. Dylan announced his arrival in a text message and ended it with the emoticon that is interpreted as a scowl, she said.

She declined to talk about her former spouse except to say he rarely exercised his visitation rights.

The last time Dylan visited Vallecito from Colorado Springs, where she moved this summer, was on Labor Day weekend, Redwine said.

“This is the fifth day Dylan has been missing, with few clues to work from,” Bender said. “We have to consider everything from foul play to a runaway.”

But Elaine Redwine won’t hear of Dylan being a runaway and discounts reported sightings of the boy Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

A Vallecito resident who knows Dylan reported seeing him walking with another boy of about the same age on Monday. Each boy had a backpack.

Redwine believes her son’s disappearance was involuntary. “Someone knows where he is,” she said.

The last time anyone she knows talked to Dylan was Sunday night, Redwine said. Dylan and a friend from Bayfield were to meet early Monday, she said.

Missing Boy's Mother Suspects Ex-Husband in Son's Disappearance
IGNACIO, Colo. Nov. 26, 2012

The mother of 13-year-old boy Dylan Redwine, who disappeared a week ago during a court ordered visit to his father, fears that the dad may have done something to "remove Dylan from the situation."

Dylan Redwine was last seen at the home of his father, Mark Redwine, when he vanished seven days ago.

"I was married to Mark for a lot of years, and I know the way he reacts to things," Elaine Redwine told ABC News. "If Dylan maybe did or said something that wasn't what Mark wanted to hear, I'm just afraid of how Mark would have reacted."

Elaine and Mark were divorced and live about five hours away from each other, ABC News affiliate KMGH reports. Dylan was staying at his father's home because of a court order granting his father visitation rights for Thanksgiving.

Elaine Redwine told ABC News she believes her ex-husband was upset that she was the court-mandated primary custodian of their son.

"I don't think Mark treats him very well," Elaine Redwine said. "I would not put it past Mark to have done something to remove Dylan from the situation. You know, like 'if I can't have him, nobody will.'"

In a phone interview with 7NEWS, Mark Redwine responded to his ex-wife's remarks by saying she is making this "more than it needs to be."

The father added that he "needs to not lash out" at his ex-wife.

Elaine Redwine told ABC News she was having a difficult time getting in touch with her ex-husband about their son.

"He hasn't had any contact with us. (My older son) tried to get a hold of him by texting him, and he wouldn't respond," she said. "I just find it odd that at a time like this, he would be so evasive."

Dylan’s mother and brother returned to the Durango area once he went missing. They insist Dylan wouldn't run away without contacting them. And if he did leave his father's home, he would have come to them.

"When he was afraid in any situation, he knew he could call me and I would drop everything and go out there, first thing," Dylan's brother, Cory Redwine, 21, told ABC News. "He knew that me, my mom, my step-dad, any of us, if he called us and said, 'I need your help,' he knew we'd be there."

Quote
Dylan's mother said she fears foul play.

"I think somebody knows where he is," she said. "I don't know if somebody is hiding him or if somebody's already done something horrible to him."

Redwine mystery ruled a homicide

The tragic disappearance of a young boy became a possible murder mystery this week following an announcement by law enforcement officials in Colorado.

The La Plata County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that the death of 13-year-old Dylan Redwine was no accident.

Redwine went missing Nov. 19, 2012, shortly after his arrival in Bayfield, Colorado, for a Thanksgiving visit with his father. His remains waited in silence for seven months on the side of a mountain near his father’s home until searchers, spurred on by the spring thaw, found him.

More than two years have passed since the discovery. Along the way, his parents, Mark Redwine and Elaine Hall, who are divorced, have played out a family drama of anger and betrayal that led to Hall filing a wrongful death lawsuit against her ex-husband in June.

In July, La Plata County Sheriff’s Office announced they had determined a person of interest in the case. Investigators declined to name the person but that didn’t stop the ongoing trial of Mark Redwine in social media and online. Part of Wednesday’s announcement included naming Mark Redwine as that person of interest. Redwine responded by filing a countersuit to his wife’s claim.

Ed. note: Dylan Redwine was the cousin of LaVerkin resident Jason Howard.

Sheriff: Redwine a person of interest in Dylan’s homicide

Denise Hess, one of the community members who helped organize the search for Dylan, said the two announcements are an important step.

“For a lot of us who have followed this, not just me, but people in the community and even worldwide who felt Mark had something to do with hurting Dylan,” she said, “we don’t look like we’re just crazily trying to accuse him, but that there’s actually some basis to our opinion.”

Like others, she has questions about what this means.

“They have not yet named him as a suspect, and we hope that happens sooner rather than later, “ she said. “The bigger step is the change on the death certificate to homicide – that’s huge.”

The timing for next steps is uncertain right now, Champaign said.

“There’s nothing set,” he said. “No set time, no set time frame or timeline for this. It’s a very complicated case, and they’re treating it with the utmost top priority. The more investigation they do, the better the case will be.”
