grace-land, thanks for posting the legal insurrection website. it's great and the commenters there (most of them) seem pretty informed and i have been reading there (thanks to you!) since you first posted the link a week ago. thank you thank you thank you!!!!

my opinion on yesterday, was that it was the states strongest day (and that is NOT saying much).  if sybrina fulton is their last witness and they don't call the ME who performed Trayvon's autopsy I would be really puzzled by that if i were a juror.  Could you imagine if the defense called the ME instead of the state?  wow.  Either way, there is still reasonable doubt everywhere and the defense hasn't even started their case yet.  I'm interested in seeing if the cross examination skills of this persecution (no thats not a typo) team are better than their skills on direct examination.

at this point,  since only the state has presented it's case, jurors aren't supposed to have so much reasonable doubt, i think it's only get worse when the defense goes.  the prosecution hasn't lived up to their promises from opening statements.  grand standing and a HOT attorney (Mr. Guy) are not evidence!

On another note, Happy 4th of July everyone!!! I am grateful to live in a country that affords us so many rights and freedoms.  I hope that George's are not taken from him.  God bless and God Bless american!!!  have a wonderful day everyone!

Expert: No Martin DNA on gun grip
SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — Trayvon Martin's DNA was not found on the grip of George Zimmerman's gun, and Zimmerman's DNA was not found under the unarmed teen's fingernails, a law enforcement expert said Wednesday in testimony that prosecutors hope will refute the neighborhood watch volunteer's self-defense claim.
Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and says he shot the 17-year-old in the chest to protect himself as Martin reached for his firearm during a fight.
Judge Debra Nelson dismissed jurors without the prosecution having rested its case as it had hoped to do by day's end. Nelson won't resume testimony until Friday morning, giving jurors the Fourth of July off. They will remain sequestered during the holiday break.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement DNA expert Anthony Gorgone also testified that Zimmerman's DNA was found among blood on a shirt Martin was wearing under his hooded sweatshirt.

What is wrong with this picture?  If the background of one is relevant ... it would go without saying that the background of both Martin and Zimmerman would be relevent.  IMO only the happenings on the fateful evening prior to Martin's death is relevant.  Nevertheless ... there appears to be a judicial double standard regarding the submission of evidence?

GEORGE ZIMMERMAN

Judge allows George Zimmerman school records into evidence
July 3, 2013

The prosecution in the George Zimmerman murder case introduced his school and medical records into evidence Wednesday, a move aimed at showing that the neighborhood watch volunteer was familiar with self-defense law and had hopes of a career in law enforcement. ...

Judge Debra S. Nelson on Wednesday ruled in favor of a prosecution motion to admit Zimmerman's school records, his job application to a Virginia police agency and his request to the Sanford police to go on a ride-along with officers.

The defense had argued that the records were irrelevant to what happened on the rainy night when Zimmerman and Martin had their clash.

The prosecution is hoping the records and applications will support the theory that Zimmerman was a wannabe cop who became increasingly frustrated by incidents of crime in his gated community. When Zimmerman saw Martin, the prosecution maintains, the neighborhood watch volunteer profiled the teenager, followed him and then had a confrontation that led to Martin being shot to death.

TRAYVON MARTIN

Suspension Permitted In Zimmerman Trial
5:25 pm, May 28th, 2013

During a pre-trial hearing Tuesday afternoon, a Florida judge ruled that George Zimmerman’s defense team cannot use the late Trayvon Martin’s alleged prior marijuana use, school suspension, past fighting, personal text messages or pictures during its opening statement in next month’s high-profile second-degree murder trial.

This comes nearly a week after Zimmerman’s lawyer Mark O’Mara made the cable news rounds, showing off new photographs taken from Martin’s cellphone, including a shot of a marijuana plant and an unidentified hand holding a gun:

O’Mara had also claimed his team had obtained text messages in which Martin talks about organized fighting. “He got mo hits cause in da 1st round. He had me on da ground nd I couldn’t do ntn,” reads one text from November 2011.

I agree with you.  There is a standard in Michigan (not sure about FL) that allows for the previous acts to be brought in if they tend to show the actions in the current case. In my opinion, the fact that TM liked to fight and had a history of drug use is just as important as GZ taking a class about stand your ground. But I think the judge is terrified of being overturned on appeal and is doing much the same as we saw in the CA case - showing favoritism.

Zimmerman trial judge is no-nonsense
Yamiche Alcindor and Steph Solis, USA TODAY 1 a.m. EDT July 5, 2013

SANFORD, Fla.-- When a 39-year-old woman snatched a baby from a Florida hospital in 2008, Circuit Judge Debra Nelson wasn't swayed by the fact that the child was missing for only about an hour. She sentenced the kidnapper to 30 years in prison.

Nelson is in the spotlight again as the presiding judge in one of America's most controversial murder cases: the killing of Trayvon Martin. Her reputation among some as a tough-on-defendants judge may be transformed as she balances both sides of the emotionally charged debate about why George Zimmerman fatally shot the 17-year-old.

"Lawyers appearing before her know that her reputation is to be a law-oriented, no-nonsense judge," said Daniel Gerber an Orlando defense attorney who argued a civil case before Nelson. "We know not to cross that line."

Hi Alagary!
Thanks for posting that link. I read it and really do not disagree. This was never about race. The people that profit financialy and politically are pushing that agenda. And yes, I would rather see wall to wall coverage on the irs scandal, bengazi and the nsa ... Our media is driven by the agenda on the left. Not a secret. I am still stuck on GZ not getting out of his vehicle and waiting for the police. I am ready for any verdict.
