Well I really can't imagine that that Zimmerman will take the stand. If you ever wanted to see the pictorial definition of nervous, its George Zimmerman.

He is almost in brain lock at this point because of the circumstances as seen by his answers to the judge of what would be easy to respond to.  GZ has obviously not been prepped to testify.

Defense calls last witness; Zimmerman deciding whether he’ll testify

Defense attorneys said Wednesday they are finished calling witnesses in George Zimmerman’s second-degree murder trial.
Court is currently in recess and will resume shortly. At that time, Zimmerman will let Judge Debra Nelson know whether he wants to testify.

When asked by Nelson earlier, Zimmerman said he hoped to make a decision by the end of the day.
Defense attorney Don West objected several times to the judge's asking if Zimmerman would testify, but the judge sternly overruled him.

Jurors were out of the courtroom at the time.

Judge allows evidence of Trayvon Martin's marijuana use

The Florida judge presiding over George Zimmerman's murder trial ruled Monday that jurors will be allowed to hear about marijuana found in Trayvon Martin's system the night he was fatally shot.

Prosecutors argued the amount was so minimal that "we just don't know" what effect it had on Martin. They also accused the defense of trying to "backdoor some very negative character evidence" into the trial.

But the defense said the amount found in Martin's system would have affected his judgment that night and is therefore relevant to the case.

Judge Debra Nelson ruled she would allow the testimony about Martin's toxicology results in front of the jury and told the prosecutors they would be able to cross-examine the defense's witness and present rebuttal witnesses of their own.

This is not rebuttal!!! The witness is being called back to stand to smear him. This question should have been done during cross, not now. The prosecution knows this and its a sleazy way to get this in front of the jury. They should be sanctioned for this crap.

This is why O'Mara asked the judge that he wanted to know what the State was going to ask this rebuttal witness. The judge said that he could object when asked. GUESS SHE BLEW IT AGAIN!!!

You cant put the genie back in the bottle. The jury heard the question that was completely improper, and the State knew it was.

IF the background of one is relevant … it would go without saying that the background of BOTH Martin and Zimmerman would be relevant. There does appears to be a prosecution and judicial double standard regarding the submission of evidence?

Judge allows George Zimmerman school records into evidence

The prosecution in the George Zimmerman murder case introduced his school and medical records into evidence Wednesday, a move aimed at showing that the neighborhood watch volunteer was familiar with self-defense law and had hopes of a career in law enforcement. …

Judge Debra S. Nelson on Wednesday ruled in favor of a prosecution motion to admit Zimmerman’s school records, his job application to a Virginia police agency and his request to the Sanford police to go on a ride-along with officers.

The defense had argued that the records were irrelevant to what happened on the rainy night when Zimmerman and Martin had their clash.

The prosecution is hoping the records and applications will support the theory that Zimmerman was a wannabe cop who became increasingly frustrated by incidents of crime in his gated community. When Zimmerman saw Martin, the prosecution maintains, the neighborhood watch volunteer profiled the teenager, followed him and then had a confrontation that led to Martin being shot to death.

Judge Rules Whether Trayvon’s Alleged Past Drug Use And School Suspension Permitted In Zimmerman Trial

During a pre-trial hearing Tuesday afternoon, a Florida judge ruled that George Zimmerman’s defense team cannot use the late Trayvon Martin’s alleged prior marijuana use, school suspension, past fighting, personal text messages or pictures during its opening statement in next month’s high-profile second-degree murder trial.

This comes nearly a week after Zimmerman’s lawyer Mark O’Mara made the cable news rounds, showing off new photographs taken from Martin’s cellphone, including a shot of a marijuana plant and an unidentified hand holding a gun:

O’Mara had also claimed his team had obtained text messages in which Martin talks about organized fighting. “He got mo hits cause in da 1st round. He had me on da ground nd I couldn’t do ntn,” reads one text from November 2011. ….

The judge also ruled that she might allow the fact that a small amount of marijuana was found in Martin’s blood the night of the shooting, but only after hearing from experts about the toxicology tests performed on the late teenager. ….

O’Mara also informed the court that his team had obtained video of three fights, two of which include Martin acting as referee. “There is certainly enough evidence,” he told the judge, “that’s going to suggest Trayvon Martin involved himself ongoingly with fighting with other people.”
