Trial of George Zimmerman in the Death of Trayvon Martin #7 7/9/2013-7/11/13

Let's face it. Every thing about this case is wrong. It is unfortunate that TM died and no one is arguing that, but this has gotten out of control just to prevent riots at the cost of a defendants right to a fair trial.

It was forced to have been brought against Zimmerman.

The judge has not acted in a fair and impartial manner.

And now the Court is allowing a Prosecutorial screw job to a defendant with this last second ambush.

Child abuse? Really? After not allowing all the evidence in on TM texts, she is going to allow this? What a travesty of justice to make sure GZ gets tried for something and the Al Sharpton's and Jesse Jackson's can have their pound of flesh.

If the judge allows this, whatever the verdict is will get reversed on appeal. This is what happens in 3rd world countries, not the USA

I agree Red. What this judge has done is guarantee that the case will continue to be a race issue for years ahead. Sad that GZ is being wronged like this. Where is the ACLU and Panthers during this violation of rights?

It appears the the Prosecution is determined that GZ is not going to walk ... one way or another.  Somehow I believe the judiciary will comply.  The arrest of GZ has never been about justice for GZ.  It is all about a PC appeasement of the many within the Black community.  IMO

The Closing arguments set to begin in Zimmerman trial

Prosecutors are expected to deliver closing arguments this afternoon in the trial of George Zimmerman, after the judge rules on several key issues – including whether the jury can find the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer guilty of manslaughter in the death last year of Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman’s lead attorney, Mark O’Mara, told reporters Wednesday after resting his case that the jury’s only option should be the second-degree murder charge brought by prosecutors. If jurors are unable to convict Zimmerman or murder, then he should be acquitted, O’Mara said, because the shooting on Feb. 26, 2012 was intentional.

“What George did was an intentional act that he knew he was pulling the trigger, the reason why he did it was self defense and that doesn’t suggest the manslaughter charge would be appropriate,” O’Mara said.

Jury can consider manslaughter charge in Zimmerman trial

George Zimmerman can still be convicted of manslaughter if the jury can't agree on a second-degree murder verdict, the judge in the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer's trial ruled Thursday. ....

Defense lawyers, who say Zimmerman acted in self-defense, argued against including manslaughter instructions to the jury. When prosecutors sought other lesser charges -- including felony murder based on a charge of child abuse -- Zimmerman attorney Don West lashed out in court.

"Just when I thought this case couldn't get any more bizarre, the state is seeking third degree murder charges based on child abuse?" he said after the prosecution's request. "It's outrageous that the state would seek to do this at this point."

What next for charges? Jaywalking?
They can not prove their case so they will put any charges on and hope that something will stick. Which something will stick now because the jury has so many options! Not fair to change and b allowed by the court. The judge lives in the  Sanford area. She is covering her own butt for re election and also  trying to stop the riots that can happen. I am outraged by this and I really hope that George walks now. But he won't and he is not getting a fair trial. Jmo!
