After yesterday's Judge Nelson harassing and argumentative behavior toward the defense and badgering Zimmerman whether he was going to testify before the end of the Defense's case, I would dare say that she needs to be brought up on judicial conduct charges.

 

I just watched the video of the exchange.  Nelson was not forcing Zimmerman to make up his mind about testifying, she was merely asking if he knew yet whether or not he would and she made it clear he could give her an answer later after the defense ended.  I believe she was trying to keep a tight timeline and prepare for George possibly taking the stand.  At this point she was done with West and his disrespect.

The fat,ugly ass cow overuled West before she even knew what the objection was about. How's that for disrespect?

She knew exactly what his objection was going to be and she addressed it.   

Where in Law school do they teach mind reading? West needs it on the record for the appeals.

She didn't do anything appealable in this instance.

She only asked him if he knew yet whether or not he would be testifying.  She did not make him decide at that moment and clearly let him know he could take his time deciding and inform her later.  She only wanted to know if he knew yet and West, like he's done over and over again, wanted to take up more of the courts time unnecessarily.  He doesn't listen very well and it's a problem.  She's had to countlessly repeat herself to him and rephrase questions to keep him on task.  I bet he has a history of pissing judges off.

I was thinking about some thing yesterday when they did the "dummy" reenactment of the crime with TM on top and GZ on the bottom ... the State tried to get the witness to say that the gun shot angle could be at 90 degrees with TM leaning back.

However, that is 100% in disagreement with autopsy (gun shot wound, entry, area around wound) and expert testimony of pathologist Vincent Di Maio that the clothing was hanging down. Which could not happen if TM was leaning backward. Look for defense to use that in closing argument to jury.

Hi Red.  I agree it wasn't protocol but it's seems pretty clear Nelson's focus is keeping this trial to a tight timeline.  May have a lot to do with security costs and operations assumed by Sanford and outlying areas.  I think she only wanted to know if Zimmerman had decided to testify and wasn't trying to pressure him into deciding.

If there are protests after this trial any violence will be quashed VERY quickly, IMO.

I can try to find it in a bit, but I thought in the State's opening statement, GZ and TM were in standing position, with GZ shooting TM at close range.
