Thank you Ting! Very true.

Just seems like when there is not much new to discuss, people seem to filter in with unbelievable comments.

Wow, we DO have alot to say, don't we?

Kauitzu (sp), LOL I wasn't attacking you!!!  I wouldn't attack anyone in my second family (which is what everyone is in this forum--I feel like I know everyone personally!!!)

But I DO have a handheld--the batteries are dead in it and I am lucky enough to live in an area where NOTHING happens, so I haven't tried to kick it back into existence, but yeah, it is legal...(as far as I know!!!--It was when I purchased it, so does that mean I am grandfathered into legalization??? LOL)

Love you guys, you are like family to me now!!!

Good evening! I am another one of those "dreaded newbies". I have been reading most all of your posts for the entire time Natalee has been missing. I agree that most posts/comments are very helpful and needed to assimilate all the news (truths and lies) that is being thrown at us. I have even appreciated the needed humor that has been shown. Hopefully I can also be accepted here as a thoughtful and intelligent poster.

With that being said, I would like to add a comment about the "chaperone" situation. I, myself, chaperone a group to the beach every year when school is out. I also consider my self a facilitator mostly. Forms are signed by parents that state that they realize that many unforseen things can happen and that they need to only let their child take the trip if they are responsible and realize the risks they face. Again, that being said, I will add this, I know where they are at all time (at least I think I do) and they do have curfews and sign in times for me to see their pretty faces during the day. If rules are broken they are restricted, if rules continue to be broken they are sent home.

They are told not the accept rides, accept drinks, or go off alone with strangers. But we have to remember that these kids (young adults) do not always think, they take risks not realizing that they are, and do tell lies and make up stories. It's scary to be responsible for them, but at the same time they are so enjoyable to be around. You just have to pray for their safety at all times.

Bottom line, I do not balme the chaperones, it could have been me many times and still I would have known in my heart that I had done and said everything possible to keep them safe. Sometimes they just don't listen.

Pray for Natalee

I wanted to pull this message over here so it doesn't get lost in the move over to the new thread.

Well said, DAG.  Welcome!

let's not blame the chaperones.....that is a moot point...

look at it for future reference though, when booking trips for teenagers....[/quote]

I agree with you on this point, nobody can change what happened, but I bet they wish they could.
This is a wake up call to a lot of parents, I would have sent my own child on this vacation( if he was of age) and not think twice about .
But after this, no way!!

If you look at the list of people on the forum, none of the Aruban posters that I know are on.  I'm anxious to hear what updates they have for us.  They all seem like really great people.

I'm yet ANOTHER dreaded newbie.  I am glad I found this forum.  Like so many, I have been intrigued by this tragedy since it started, maybe because I'm from Birmingham.

Forgive me if I am asking an old question, but has there been any word on whether they released those three?  God I hope not!

No satellite tv tonight so I can't keep with up Greta and Nancy.

They ARE! And very sensitive. I distinctly remember Arubagirl (before we had this new forum) getting her feelings VERY hurt with some unfair remarks. She had to be begged to come back...and it was TOM himself who came in and said how great she is as well as the other Arubans..in here...and the ones he met while on the island.

Someone had asked about the address of the Cyberzone Internet Cafe.

Cyberzone Ii Internet Cafe
Sabana Blanco 70 E..

I think it's south, near the International School of Aruba where Joran attended.
