The Decline, Fall and the Rebirth of Adicora
It has always been a bit out of the way to travel to with [b]no direct flights [/b]other than from Aruba or Caracas, [/b]but a combination of various other things are the main results of its slip from popularity. An incredible increase of the Venezuelan currency makes living costs only slightly cheaper than Europe, (it used to be dirt cheap). A world recession has caused people to work longer instead of taking longer holidays. More established windsurfing destinations have become cheap and easy to get to and a reduction of adventurous travelling windsurfers have all been factors responsible for Adicora's decline. A couple of shark attack stories also threw a few people off the trail, despite them being at a completely different location, (see later for the gory details.)
