EXCLUSIVE: Relative of Hannah Anderson breaks her silence in new book to brand the kidnap victim's behavior 'downright disturbing' since her mother and brother's brutal double-murder
PUBLISHED: 13:28 EST, 22 October 2013  | UPDATED: 20:19 EST, 22 October 2013

Her conduct in the months since her rescue from the family friend who kidnapped her and allegedly murdered her mother and brother has been the subject of intense scrutiny.

Now, MailOnline can reveal, members of Hannah Anderson’s own family are confused by the 16-year-old’s behaviour in the aftermath of the brutal double murder and her kidnap, with one branding it, ‘downright disturbing.’

Jennifer Willis, Hannah’s great-aunt, has broken her silence in a soon to be published book, ‘The River of No Return: On the Trail of Hannah Anderson and Jim DiMaggio.’

Speaking to author and criminal profiler, Chelsea Hoffman, Mrs Willis admitted: ‘We haven’t seen her grieve at all.

‘It’s not the Hannah we know. It’s downright disturbing.’

Mrs Willis was so close to her niece Christina that the women were, she said, ‘more like sisters.’  Revealing her own profound pain in the aftermath of Christina and Ethan’s killings she said: ‘I can hardly breathe most of the time.’

She and several other relatives admitted to being deeply troubled by Hannah’s apparent lack of grief and string of outlandish, often sexually precocious, postings on social media, according to Hoffman.

On the day of her mother and brother’s funeral she tweeted pictures of herself and a friend, fingers posed like guns, with the hastag ‘true-thugs’

And the very day that the teenager spoke fully for the first time, reliving the ordeal of being forced to play Russian Roulette while hearing her brother crying from another room - on the Today show, she posted images of herself with a male friend, pouting, giggling and ‘twerking’ her New York hotel room.

While Hannah was there, she excitedly posted pictures on her Instagram account, including several close-ups of Miley Cyrus' live performance.

Two days ago she boasted online that her grandmother, with whom Hannah now lives, allowed her boyfriend to sleep over and pictured him shirtless and making her scrambled eggs for breakfast.

I'm a strong woman with a lot of hiking experience and I could not carry two fifty pound packs.  That story is hogwash.

More likely she had her abductor carrying the two packs while she carried the water.

This girl is very troubled.
I still say she knows more than she is willing to admit. Could she have had more to do with the murders and he set the fire to cover up for her? I think he was obsessed with her and would gave done anything for her.
All speculation on my behalf based on her behavior.

NBC in talks for documentary on Hannah Anderson kidnapping/murder case
Published: October 29

NBC said it is in negotiations with Brett and Hannah Anderson, the father and daughter who were caught up in a bizarre kidnapping and murder ordeal during the summer, to create “longform” non-fiction programming about the case.

Hannah Anderson, 16, was the subject of a multi-state manhunt in August after she was abducted by a family friend, James Lee DiMaggio Jr., who is suspected of killing her mother and younger brother near San Diego. DiMaggio was shot to death by FBI agents in a remote part of Idaho after he fled California with the girl. Anderson was released unharmed,

NBC News has already featured both Andersons in interviews broadcast on the “Today” show in August and October, and in a one-hour documentary on “Dateline NBC” in late August. They haven’t spoken to any other network, despite widespread media interest in the dramatic and lurid story.

Hannah's story is likely fiction
San Diego :  CA :  USA | Oct 29, 2013 at 4:53 PM PDT
By Chelsea Hoffman

Hannah Anderson's story is likely a monumental work of weakly concocted fiction, so why is NBC negotiating with the 'Lakeside Lolita' and her father in regards to a movie deal? Remember when they claimed this media arrangement was completely false when it was brought up a few weeks ago? Yeah, it doesn't look like honesty is a strong virtue in this girl's environment. Now that the cat's out of the bag, it's time to ponder on just what this so called documentary might contain.

First of all it's super convenient that this news broke today, because my book The River of No Return: On the trail of Hannah Anderson and Jim DiMaggio will be available long before this so called "documentary" is ever filmed. Before Hannah can think of another version of her story to tell that is fitting for high television ratings, the public will have read my book front-to-back -- and possibly more than once.

Coroner: Hannah Anderson’s abductor tested positive for drugs
6 hours ago

SAN DIEGO – James Lee DiMaggio, the Boulevard man who abducted 16-year-old Hannah Anderson, had drugs in his system when FBI agents shot and killed him in Idaho’s backcountry, authorities confirmed Wednesday.

The Valley County Coroner Nathan Hess told Fox5 that DiMaggio tested positive for legal prescription drugs and THC, the main mind-altering ingredient found in cannabis plants.

Hess did not elaborate on what types of prescription drugs were found in his system.

DiMaggio’s body was cremated, said Cathy Griffin, a spokeswoman for the DiMaggio family.

NBC News Subsidiary Gets Checkbook Journalism Charges Over Possible Hannah Anderson Deal
Posted: 11/01/2013 1:05 pm EDT

A potential deal between NBC News and Hannah Anderson and her father has some observers crying checkbook journalism.

Anderson was kidnapped last year by a family friend, who killed her mother and brother. The Washington Post reported Thursday that the network is currently in talks with the Andersons to do a special about Hannah's abduction. NBC News sources said that the Andersons could receive over $100,000 in the deal, though the network would not comment on the amount.

An NBC News spokesperson defended the network to the Post, saying that it wasn't paying Hannah or her father for their interviews. The spokesperson said that it was paying them to use "footage and personal material" in the programming instead. Peacock Productions, an NBC News subsidiary that produces long-form programming, is in the process of hammering out a contract, the Post reported.

Wonder if she also had drugs in her system? Of course she would not be tested at the time because she was an alleged kidnap victim.

She is still a little girl, in my opinion.

I saw briefly the story on H.A. and found myself not believing one word coming from her mouth, I turned off the TV after five minutes.

Geez, how can she keep layering all that mascara, and it never runs when she tears up?  What brand does she use?

She is still a little girl and not responsible for being put in the position her parents put her in with cool Uncle Jim. Sad

It is even more sad her little brother, will never live out his dreams, because the father (in my opinion), who was the irresponsible one who jeopardized his children's well being, with shifting his responsibilities to this stooge.

H.A. said it was going to be a day with food and fun, did she ever ask where was the food?  Something stinks.

Hannah Anderson still can't keep story straight a year later
Aug 05, 2014 at 3:20 PM PDT

A documentary aired on Friday, Aug. 1st, about the so-called kidnapping of the San Diego teen, but as most of us already know the interview portions of the documentary were filmed several months ago -- long before the San Diego County Sheriff's Dept. released surveillance footage that showed Hannah awake in the car with DiMaggio as they left California.

In the documentary, which -- again -- was made before recent investigative updates -- Hannah still stuck to the original claim that she was "asleep" on the way to Idaho. Keep in mind, however, that her very original story was that she was asleep before she even got into the car with Jim. The story has evolved, over the course of a year, to includ her memory of being in the car, but handcuffed. The folks who watched the NBC documentary on Friday were led to believe that this teen was unconscious through the entire trip -- but the truth of the mater is that she was indeed wide awake in that car when going through a checkpoint with DiMaggio -- and if she was indeed handcuffed, the border patrol officers surely didn't notice, even though they looked right into the car.
