So I suspicion it's a Dutch lab looking at the alleged remains. You know as well as I do from this board alone that these test can be concluded in 48 hours.

In my opinion TES did a thorough job looking at all areas - ya, I get it - allegedly 'moved'. I just don't see how Natalee could have been overlooked for 12 years in some "park" setting. Makes little to no sense. Someone would have stumbled upon her long before now.

If she was hidden in a morgue - yeah, hard to stumble upon her there if she is or was concealed. Aruba is only 19 miles by 7 miles - there are no unknown areas that aren't traversed by people all the time. This isn't like a 500 square mile State park where anything could get lost or be hidden.

Also, for anyone wondering if the authorities suddenly decided to "unearth" Natalee - no way. They made their bed and are content to live in it.

Just like you - I have no idea what's really going on here - however, I remain very skeptical. And that's not because I don't think Natalee won't be found or can't be found (and that's truly a possibility) it's just that this story so far doesn't lend alot of credence.

Peter R. de Vries puts big questions on 'find' Natalee Holloway

Crime reporter Peter R. de Vries puts big question on the finding of human remains on Aruba. The father of twelve years ago, missing Natalee Holloway, declared Wednesday that he found rests that may be of his daughter. De Vries speaks of 'a strange story' and a weird research.

Chris Klomp 17-08-17, 12:58 Last update: 13:08

Father Dave Holloway released Wednesday in the NBC program Today on the news that, after months of research, he collided with private detective T.J. Ward has been able to dig human remains in a park on the Caribbean island of Aruba. The investigation further showed that the girl was given ghb from Dutchman Joran van der Sloot and then stitched when she had to surrender.

That of human remains I find a very strange story
Peter R. de Vries
It is not accidental that Dave Holloway comes up with news on the matter. On the next Saturday, the US radio station Oxygen will broadcast a documentary about the father's search.

Question Marks
Crime reporter Peter R. de Vries puts a lot of questions on the discovery. "In the first place, you'll start the ears right away. But then you'll see what they've been doing online and are going to notice things. Thus, they claim to have found human remains, but it is, of course, bizarre that the police and justice of Aruba are completely out of place. That's even a death sentence in my eyes. That you are digging an assault on an alleged place, destroying traces and ensuring that the police and the judiciary can not capture the circumstances under which they took place. "

De Vries also has doubts about the finding of the remains himself. "They say that research has shown that it was about human remains, but what did you actually find? Because if there were a body there would you just be a skull and do not you have to investigate if anything is human or not? Do you see that right? A skull is one of the last things that perish, and if an animal had something to be excavated, I suppose traces would have occurred before. "

Dna
What was heavenly motivation to do this outside of the police and justice?
Peter R. de Vries
According to the crime reporter, the father did not find a whole body. "At least, no skeleton has been found and then I think: what's this? If you say your research needed, then it sounds like you've only found a few bones. They further claim that the DNA research will be available in a month. While they have been in possession of the evidence for a long time. If the Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) was involved, we would have just known it at the end of the week. "

On the suggestion that the father might have come out with the news to promote a documentary broadcast on Saturday, De Vries makes no statements. "I can not look into that. I used to be used to this before, sometimes things just collapse. "

De Vries still points out that the father's action may give rise to major problems for the evidence. "They owe some explanation. What was heavenly motivation to do this outside of the police and justice? For example, imagine a hole in the skull or other traces indicating a cause of death. If a judge wants something like that, then any future suspect, Joran van der Sloot, can say, what are those excavated things worth? These items are uncoverable for two months, which have been dug up and then swept those two months everywhere, who have gone to many private laboratories. Who says that nothing has happened to those things? "

The ghb story by Dave Holloway's tipger is somewhat similar to what has already been known. "Joran van der Sloot has previously stated that Natalee suddenly became unwell and began to shake and shake and had blind eyes, so at least Joran has previously hung up. But that of human remains I find a very strange story. "

De Vries's complaint is the only thing that gives me hope........ not involving the Aruban police!!!

Monks and Monkettes - look back at Paulus' behavior - was that the behavior of someone who thought she would be found?

His behavior told me that he was simply worried that some forensics would tie them to the crime. He didn't appear too worried Natalee was going to be found. Simply worried that Joran's pimp hut was the lynch-pin to bring it all down.

Oh, just thought of something else - what about the 12 other Americans that went missing on Aruba before Natalee? We documented all of those.

What about Max DeVries? Bud Larson? And many others. Bud never even made it into the water when he disappeared. In my opinion - it's more likely him.

Obviously, some crime happened to Bud. Rumors were that he was buried somewhere and never found.

This case could be closure for someone - but I have to wonder how likely it's Natalee when it could be more fitting for some others that vanished. Would love to be wrong.

Well, with the Aruban police kept out of it - at least maybe we can confirm they are not "donkey bones."

Also - any chance these remains belong to Robyn Gardner? I know this was supposed to have happened at Baby Beach - but that story is as sketchy as they come.

This is part of a transcription of a show John Ludwick was on back in 2010, kinda gives his version of the history between him and Joran at that time.

No matter what corner of the globe Joran van der Sloot traveled to he found his personal demons soon followed.  When his father died unexpectedly in February, 2010, Joran sold his failing coffeeshop in Thailand, flew back to Aruba and moved in with his mother.  A few days after he arrived Joran met John Ludwick.

Video of John Ludwick
"I told him I recognized him and he gave me his phone number and asked if I wanted to hang out, and we ended up hanging out.  About two days after I'd first met Joran is when his dad's memorial was being held in Aruba and he invited me to go so I went and I was actually his only friend his age there.  That's when right from the beginning he knew I was a real friend because I showed up at his dad's memorial and I just had met him."

Louis B. Schlesinger, Ph.D.
Forensic Psychologist
"Interestingly many other individuals will attach themselves to psychopaths.  So they can often be charming, they can be somewhat charismatic, and they can find that a lot of people want to associate with them."

Joran soon slipped into his old habits.

Video of John Ludwick
"When we'd go out to bars and stuff some girls would recognize him you know and want to talk to him, and be attracted to the celebrity if you call it...I mean he kind of liked the notoriety, you know he'd get them drinks, they'd hug on him and stuff; and they'd want to hang out with him later on.  I remember one time like probably two days after I met him, we're hanging out at the Excelsior casino at the Holiday Inn...the same place he met Natalee...and later that night we'd walked along the beach back behind the Marriott which is the area he said he was with Natalee...and you know we met some girls there and we picked them up.  That was just weird in my head like man I was just in the same casino and just the same spot that all this stuff happened with Natalee...and I'm with Joran doing the same stuff like...this is crazy."

Around this time the relationship became very tense between Joran and his mother.

Video of John Ludwick
"He had got home at like 6 in the morning from at the casino with me and she was sitting on his bed waiting for him.  And she got in a big fuss you know...you lied to me...all this stuff."

After being confronted by his mother, Joran moved in with Ludwick and soon van der Sloot started talking about what had happened to Natalee Holloway.  Some of this came as they watched a television movie about her disappearance.

Video of John Ludwick
"Yeah it was kinda weird the night we watched the Natalee Holloway movie together.  You know I'm sitting next to on the couch the guy that the movie's about.  And he told me what parts of the movie were true and not and stuff like when they said they were going up to the lighthouse to look for sharks, he said that wasn't true, you can't see sharks from up there."

Joran never revealed the specifics of what happened to Natalee Holloway but he implied that her death was an accident.

Video of John Ludwick
"I don't get the sense of regret you know I never got a sense of there was an intentional causing of anything.  I got more of a sense of you know the situation happened and there was nothing I could do about it."

But in the world of Joran van der Sloot the lines between fact and fiction had become so blurred that it was impossible to tell what was true and what wasn't.

Video of John Ludwick
"But I'd be like Joran you know you said you dumped her in the swamp...there's no way, that swamp is dry and stuff...and he'd laugh.  He knew it was a lie you know and he knew that I knew it was.  And he said I can't change the past, I can't change what happened, I am who I am and I might as well make money off of it."

Joran's next move would be one of his most audacious.  He made contact with Natalee's mom, Beth Holloway.

Video of John Ludwick
"He said he wanted to clear his conscience to Beth and I was kind of aware when he was trying to make contact to come clean as he would say."

Over a series of emails Joran told Beth that because his father had just died he was finally ready to come clean and reveal the location of Natalee's body, but it would come at a price...two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

Louis B. Schlesinger, Ph.D.
Forensic Psychologist
"He's using his father's death to help himself as an explanation for now why he's now gonna tell the truth and why Beth Holloway should now give him two hundred and fifty thousand dollars to tell the truth.  He wants to portray himself always as a victim.  What does this have to do with his father's death?  Nothing."

Video of Bryan Burrough
Special Correspondent, Vanity Fair
"I was stunned, both that he would be so stupid and so desperate.  He clearly believed that there was no way that he was going to be brought to justice for what had happened to Natalee.  I mean he'd already told what six, seven, eight...different stories...what's a ninth if I can get some money?"

The plan was to send Beth's lawyer John Q. Kelley to Aruba to handle the actual transaction with Joran.  Kelley contacted the FBI which assigned a dozen agents to the operation in Aruba.

Louis B. Schlesinger, Ph.D.
Forensic Psychologist
"Van der Sloot knew that Misses Holloway wanted to know really where her daughter's body was to gain some sense of closure, to be able to put this behind her in some way.  Van der Sloot was astute enough to enough to recognize that and he played on her emotion."

Meanwhile the FBI had placed audio bugs and hidden cameras throughout a hotel room in the Marriott and in Kelley's car to record the extortion attempt.  Once in room 443, van der Sloot signed an agreement after which Kelley gave him a twenty five thousand dollar down payment with the remainder of the money to be paid when Natalee's body was recovered.  Then van der Sloot and Kelley got into the rental car and drove to a location near the Aruba Racquet Club.  Van der Sloot pointed to a house and said it was his father who buried Natalee's body under the building.

Louis B. Schlesinger, Ph.D.
Forensic Psychologist
"Joran described himself as a pathological liar.  You can't believe anything he said because somebody like him lies when they don't have to lie, that's what a pathological liar is...they're not necessarily lying only to escape wrongdoing...they lie when they don't have to lie; because they feel a sense of control over other people."

No body was ever found and in an email exchange with Kelley dated May 17th...just a week after the alleged extortion Joran admitted to lying about the location of Natalee Holloway's remains.

Louis B. Schlesinger, Ph.D.
Forensic Psychologist
"He did it in a sadistic and cruel fashion which I think speaks volumes as to really what's inside of van der Sloot, which is nothing human; it's machine-like."

After getting his money Joran collected his things and got ready to leave Aruba.

Video of John Ludwick
"Joran told me he was going to Peru, just to get away from his mom and all the stress.  He told me he was just going to get an apartment and live down there for a year until he went back to Thailand."

Tipped off that he might be trying to leave the Country, Aruban investigators consulted with FBI officials who in a fateful decision decided not to arrest Joran for extortion while he was still in Aruba.

Peter Blanken
Chief Public Prosecutor, Aruba
"The FBI was not ready with their arrest warrant.  And they approved...the American authorities approved that he was going to go to another country...go to Colombia and to Peru and that when they were ready with their proceedings, he could be arrested in another country."

Van der Sloot left Aruba and by May 14th, he had checked into Room 309 at the Hotel Tac in Lima, Peru.  A week later van der Sloot met Stephany Flores, and in the early morning of May 30th...five years to the day that Natalee Holloway disappeared...the two were seen playing Poker together at the Atlantic City Casino in Lima.  At about five in the morning surveillance cameras show that they return to Joran's room at the Hotel Tac.  Less than four hours later, Joran left the room alone and fled Peru.

Stephany Flores was never seen alive again.

If what they're testing was actually first dug up in 2010, no.

Robyn went missing August 2, 2011.

A Father's Journey for Closure: Why Natalee Holloway's Dad Is Still Searching for Her

U.S.
A Father's Journey for Closure: Why Natalee Holloway's Dad Is Still Searching for Her
 Elaine Aradillas,People 5 hours ago
Reactions  Like  Reblog on Tumblr  Share  Tweet  Email
Dave Holloway is a father searching for closure.

Describing to PEOPLE the toll that searching for his daughter Natalee has taken on him, he says, “There are times when I’ve been in a panic situation – blood pressure goes up, you think you’re having a heart attack, and it all comes down to the stress of all of this.”

He adds, “You get to the point in your life and say, ‘Are you just going to forget about it?’ But you really can’t. If a lead comes up, you have to make a choice – you’re either going to pursue it or spend the rest of your life worrying about it.”

Natalee Holloway went missing during a high school graduation trip to Aruba more than 12 years ago. Dave’s quest to find out what happened to her is the focus of the six-part series The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, which premieres Saturday (7 p.m. ET) on Oxygen.

For a long time, authorities and Natalie’s family have suspected Joran van der Sloot was responsible for her disappearance. He has never faced trial in connection with the case, but he is currently serving a 28-year sentence for an unrelated murder in Peru.

Without information from van der Sloot to assist them, Dave and criminal investigator T.J. Ward have chased lead after lead, including one to Nicaragua, only to face many dead ends. Each time Dave pursues another fruitless lead, it’s as if he goes through the healing process again.

“How many times do we have to bury her?” he asks.

If a body were buried illegally in a shallow grave less than 2ft deep, the decomposition rate is only 18 months to three years. That's banking on disturbance by small mammals and insects. Whereas, with a proper burial, with the coffin deep in the ground, the decomposition rate is much slower. The ground conditions affect the decomposition rate. If the coffin is sealed in a very wet, heavy clay ground, the body tends to last longer because the air is not getting to the deceased. If the ground is light, dry soil, decomposition is quicker. Generally speaking, a body takes 10 or 15 years to decompose to a skeleton.
https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2008/feb/16/healthandwellbeing.weekend2

Skills learned at body farms can help across the globe. When mass graves are found in places like Kosovo, Iraq or Rwanda, examiners can determine the corpses' race and time of death, which helps identify the regime responsible for their death. It can also be determined if the victims were shot, beaten or killed with a blow to the head.

Hi Susebear!

Wish I knew what was going on too.

If I understand correctly, they've filmed six episodes, but still don't know if the remains are Natalee's or not.  That in itself is disconcerting to me if this find is the focus of the series.  Not to mention wondering if we need to watch the series to find out if it's really her.  Another six weeks of drama while we wait sprinkled with weekly doses of Gabriel Madrigal/John Ludwick intrigue?  My heart can't take it!  Maybe most of the time in each episode is focused on the events of the last twelve years, with segments of their current investigation in each episode?  Wouldn't you want to know before you put all the promotions out there?  I'm seen so many headlines saying she's found.  What if it's not her, or they can't prove it is?  Or maybe they do know, and are under agreement not to tell?  grrrr  I don't know, and I should have probably left it at that, lol.

Natalee Holloway's Dad Leads Investigators In New Special as Authorities Dispute Discovery of Remains

Inside Edition
August 17, 2017

Holloway has returned to Aruba for the six-part special on the Oxygen cable network, which begins Saturday.

Holloway and Ward say an informant has led them to the backyard of a house where Natalee's body could be buried. Bones were allegedly discovered at the location.

Based on an excerpt from the Oxygen special, police in Aruba were dubious about the new information, saying in a statement to Inside Edition that the bones found were not human remains.

Whatever the outcome of the DNA test, a father's quest for justice is as strong as ever.

Maybe they're hurting enough with the situation in Venezuela?  You know it has to be hitting them hard, whether they admit it or not.

TJ said if the remains aren't Natalee's, they need to know who they belong to.  Monkeys need to know who was in the fish trap too!

You know they've probably heard that the monkeys aren't buying the BS about the fish trap, and aren't going to shut up about it.   Monkey Devil!

They will never live this down staying comfortable in that bed they've made.

Justice for Natalee!

If you ask the wrong question, of course, you get the wrong answer. We find in design it’s much more important and difficult to ask the right question. Once you do that, the right answer becomes obvious.<br />Quote: Amory Lovins

From what I'm gathering, the person just decided to come forward with the information and location of the remains.  I will be shocked if the body is Natalee's.

Honestly, I don't know for sure.

One of the stories John Ludwick supposedly told is that he helped Joran or Joran paid him to dig up the remains in 2010 and they took them and cremated them and threw them in the ocean at low tide.  I've read on fb that was a lie.  I've also read on fb (from some that appear to be supporting Gabe) that they did cremate some, but not all of the remains, and that someone kept a souvenir.  I think what is being tested was only recovered in the last few months (end of April, I think), no idea how much was found.  If any of the first story was true, maybe only a souvenir?  Awful to even think about.

I stand with the girl, Natalee Holloway.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.

Hi again - just remembering how much time we all spent here, and some of the characters (Monkeys and random others). Remember the banana boat? bus? Christmas tree? many exertions on the murder & crime thread. (At this point I should say that I experienced several monumental family and health problems and simply lacked time or energy for other pursuits.)

Texas Mom, and OMG Klaas - you are amazing. Your personal memory, and what you've got tucked away in some computer place, is brilliant.

I don't expect anything from this latest version of the Natalee story. Just another attempt to make a buck off a tragedy.
