14 year old Margarita Chaparro has been missing since Thursday, August 29, 2013 in Hollister, California.  Family members reported Magarita Chaparro missing to the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office at noon Thursday. She was last seen at 8 a.m. outside her residence. The police believe she is endangered and in the company of 42 year old Carlos Arellano.

PERSON OF INEREST: 45-Year-old Jose C. Arrellano. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-10, light skin with a medium build.

VEHICLE:: A late model Chevy 4 door truck, light gray in color and described as a Texas Edition model with the license plate 77106H1.

14-year-old Margarita Chaparro. Chaparro is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5' 2", 115 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light blue blouse and light blue, ripped jeans with black/white low top Converse shoes.

Arrellano is an acquaintance of the family and was recently seen with Margarita Chaparro. According to the family, Arrellano was acting Inappropriately towards the 14-year-old and even sent her flowers on her birthday. "I'm scared he might have sold her. He might have killed her, He might have taken her into prostitution," said the victim's sister Emy Rodriguez.

The family told Central Coast News that Arrellano was warned to stay away from Margarita a few weeks before.

Police have named Arrellano as a person of interest because of his past behavior towards Arrellano.

Hollister Police Investigating Missing Person

The Hollister Police Department has named Hollister resident Jose C. Arrellano as a person of interest in the disappearance of 14-year-old Hollister resident Margarita Chaparro.

After checking the area, the family reported her missing.  She is described as a Hispanic female, 5-foot-2, 115 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a light blue blouse and light blue ripped jeans with black and while low-top Converse shoes.

He is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-10, light skin with a medium build. He was seen driving a late model light grey Chevy 4-door pickup, described as a Texas Edition.

Missing Hollister teen Margarita Chaparro found safe by police

HOLLISTER, Calif. —Teen Margarita Chaparro, missing since Thursday, was found by Hollister police on Saturday, officials said.

The 14-year-old girl was located in a Central Valley city in good health, authorities said. Her family was notified.

Chaparro was reported missing by her family and was last seen walking out of her house on Prune Street to take the garbage out at 8:25 a.m. Thursday.

Chaparro's family had believed she was abducted by 42-year-old Jose Arrellano, a family friend.

Police located Arrellano's truck in a private lot in Lodi on Friday and began surveillance of it.

Investigators said they learned Saturday that Chaparro was at a shopping center in Lodi and she was found. They said Chaparro provided information about Arrellano's whereabouts, but he was not there.
