Nancy....interesting...I can't imagine a Jail being worse than a prison...do you have a link to this information...I am intrigued

I dont have a link but i can confirm you that yes the prison is better thatn jail....in the jail here at the police departments are cement beds and theirs a hole in the ground that serves as the toilet...adn you get fed i think its bread and cheese...and in prison theirs normal beds...real toilets and normal food and its cooler and less mosquitos and "more comfortable" i dont know how comfortable a prison can be but...its better than the jail in police department

It was an MSM report, can't recall when or where.  However, it confirmed exactly what AmericaninAruba is saying...they made a huge point of saying the jail conditions are really dreadful and very grim.  And yes, the jail was alot better.

181. Anyone suspected of having committed a criminal offence may be held by the police for questioning for a maximum of six hours (2) (section 41 of the Code of Criminal Procedure or "CCP").

Does this mean that they are formally charged?  Because it says here that they cant keep them in the prison for more than 6 hours.

Rob,

I am interested in general details.....I know in the US it is hardcore...there are prison gangs...Inmates that intimidate other inmates...physically, emotionally, sexually....just wondering if the same things occur in Aruba's prison....or if the inmates are more confined so that these acts don't occur.

Since the crime rate is so low (supposively) they cant be too bad.  Prisons are better than jails.  Most people in the US would tell you (inmates) that they would rather go to Prison than jail.

no its not really like that you dont get lots of "horrible" stories from the prison here its mostly liek the women all practically become lesbos and havce sex with eachother etc....but with the men just fights and stuff no big news really comes form there

They are not asking FBI for help.  The only thing they helped with was the DNA tests.

FOX report is now on the FBI involvement.

1. Offered to do polygraph...not normal procedure

2. Divers not used because no exact site could be pinpointed

3. Forensics are being handed off only to the Dutch

4. FBI there are only guests...used if asked

I wish they would let the FBI take over.  That makes me wonder.  If the FBI is involved Jorans dad couldnt pull any strings.
