there is collective brainpower on here.  this is sort of an armchair rumor control, crisis management operation.  If we can think of it it might have happened.

If Natalee is alive and is returned to her parents, it would be such a good thing.  Both for her family and for Aruba!  People would flock to Aruba to see all of the landmarks they have heard about.  Carlos and Charlies would be booming with lines of tourists.  There would be tours taking people to every place that she visited or was searched.  Americans are the most forgiving people on this earth, and once she was returned, I doubt they would even follow as to what the Aruba justice system did.  Fox might mention it from time to time, but there would be the next hurricane or tornado or murder to follow.  Perhaps even some of those involved in her abduction would profit from their hotels/casinos/boat and car rentals, etc.  Let's hope she is returned alive and it is good for everyone.  If I had her myself, I would just drop her off back at the Holiday Inn and tell her to claim to have amnesia and to have been blind-folded and drugged, so that she could get back home without further detaining.  She probably wants to go to college and not stay in Aruba in some investigation.

Also, I missed the part about that Dee woman ..what is her story?
I also want to let the Aruban folks on here know that not everyone dislikes them or feels they are to blame, etc. I enjoy reading their input and feel that it is very knowledgeable and helpful. I feel at times that we are getting the run around from Aruban officials, but i guess when you arent there, and when you dont exactly know how another country operates, then its easy to judge.Just wanna let you guys know that we arent all that way and arent all so quick to judge..at least i know i try not to be....
With that said, whats the deal with them finding her clothers in someone's house?

I'd like to know more about the rules for interrogating suspects in Aruba.  Since each of them are "lawyered up", it ususally becomes more difficult to get info from them.  Does anyone know if suspects are allowed to not answer questions, like in this country?  How much can a lawyer protect their client?

In some respects, I think lawyers could help as they can help broker deals that reveal key information.

As I follow this case of Natalee missing, I ponder what steps can parents or LE do to take action when such horrific situation would befall a family.  Why did this work versus other cases that did not...

Is the single most important factor the News Media?  Yes no?  Can the New Media be used like American Most Wanted, cept more real live and quicker?  What elements hooks such news media besides the obvious..(young, long blonde hair)  ..and can future abductions, count on ABC, NBC, Foxnews, CNN?
