The Arkansas man who faces capital murder charges in the death of a real estate broker whose body was found early Tuesday in a shallow grave told reporters she was chosen because "she was a woman that worked  alone—a rich broker."

Arron Lewis, the suspect, denied killing Beverly Carter, and mentioned a co-defendant during the brief interview with reporters while being led by police in handcuffs.

This is really sad news.    

My family has some rental property and we do the maintenance and management, but I stopped showing units myself to prospective residents years ago.  I use a leasing company to vet the prospects with criminal background checks and credit reports and if they pass muster, they then show the unit. (they must be pre-qualified)  Much safer for everyone.
