ROWLETT, Texas -
The human bones found by hikers earlier this month near Miller Road and the President George Bush Turnpike are those of a woman reported missing more than nine years ago, according to Rowlett Police.

The remains are 41-year-old Shirley Geanes', who was reported missing to Richardson Police Sept. 23, 2004. Geanes' cause of death, however, is undetermined.

The remains were discovered on a trail in a wooded area Dec. 4. Rowlett Police responded, and the remains were taken to the medical examiner's office for identification.

Geanes owned a residential and commercial maid service, and the last time anyone heard from her was when she called a relative after cleaning a house in Rowlett.
