Hi seahorse!  It has been a while.  I hope all is well.

Hey ... I'm just speculating on what is out there ... speculating that reported burner/ disposable phones purchased by Dede/Terri following the disappearance and ... possibly burner phones purchased by Dede/Terri prior to the disappearance  ... were thrown away following the secreting of Kyron on the morning of June 10, 2010.

Considering Kaine and Terri were meeting the bus on June 4, 2010 at the time of Jim Kelley's sighting ... could it be that it was Dede who was observed in the white truck?

seahorse ... I'm also speculating when I say that I believe that Dede has revealed all to investigators regarding her participation in the events that led up to the secreting of Kyron and has been afforded immunity from prosecution for her ongoing co-operation. In other words ... I believe Dede will be a witness for the prosecution in an upcoming trial.

The recent KGW article states ".... no new evidence prompted the search."  However ... this wannabe detective once again speculates.  I believe T's are being crossed and I's are being dotted prior to an arrest in the Kyron Horman case.

My hubby calls my speculation "wishful hoping".  He is probably right but after almost 52 years of marriage you would think is could just agree with me.  It would have been in his best interest.  He had requested teriyaki chicken for dinner.  Macroni and cheese is where it is at.  It's called "getting even".

Neighbors stop by Brooks Hill Historic church, across the street from the school, to mull over the investigation. "This kind of thing is unheard of," says Jim Kelley, 50.

Kelley, who lives about a mile and a half down hill, at the end of a winding, secluded country lane off Cornelius Pass, said police, federal agents, K-9 teams and helicopters scoured the area Saturday.

"We had two odd sightings of a vehicle on our road Friday," Kelley said. Around 3 p.m., he and a neighbor reported seeing a white pick-up truck with a female driver pull to the end of the long road, idle and then turn around. Then again at 2 a.m. Saturday morning, a similar white pickup truck appeared, idled and when a neighbor loosed her dogs, eased away."

"A, it was strange to have a car there, any car there, that we didn't know, and B, it was strange to have a vehicle come down our dead-end road twice in the same day, hours after a little boy goes missing," said Kelley. "That's beyond rare."

Kelley said authorities have twice searched the deep ravine, creek and railroad tracks located near the end of his street by air and on foot.

Fake name used to buy Horman-linked phones

KATU now knows that friends purchased cell phones to communicate with the stepmother of missing Kyron Horman after the second grader disappeared two months ago.

Additionally, one of those friends did so using a fake name, according to multiple sources on Friday.

A friend of Terri Horman said the secret phones were intended to provide some level of privacy with their conversations, which they felt were being monitored by law enforcement. She said they also wanted to use phones with numbers not known to the press.

The phones were purchased after Kyron's father, Kaine Horman, moved out of the family's home.

The friend, who is not DeDe Spicher, went to the Lloyd Center and bought a prepaid cell phone at an electronic store. The friend now says she regrets using a fake name and that it was “stupid” and “spur of the moment.”

She said the phone she bought was for herself to use and not for Terri Horman.

She insists the three of them – DeDe, Terri and her – only got the phones because the new AT&T service would allow them to make calls out of the Horman home at Shelter Nook Road. The home is in a remote area that does not receive Verizon service, which is what the friends had.

She insists she’s not guilty of anything besides trying to be supportive of her friend, Terri. However, the friend said the more she has worked with investigators the less support she has given Terri. She said she has turned over cell phone records, business phone records and all relevant e-mails to investigators.

It also has been confirmed that at least one of the phones was purchased by DeDe Spicher.

What remains unclear is why two additional prepaid phones were purchased at another store in downtown Portland the next day under the same fake name used at the Lloyd Center. The friend said she knows those phones were paid for in cash but she did not make the purchase.

I am not the best with maps but this area literally backs up to Westwind Farms where Dede worked.

 
Apparently you are better than you think because in 2015 Hockensmith purchased the additional (approx 40 acres) property below hers ( 13001towards SPringville and 128th) and THAT property abuts some of the NW Springville Rd parcels. I do encourage anyone reading here with an interest to pull up the Multnomah County Property maps, but also, then follow some of the routes via google if you want to get an idea just what this terrain is like.

You are correct Seahorse, there are no records of any burner phones purchased prior to late June 2010, the receipts of which I have reviewed personally.  They are a part of a grand jury record which precludes me from publishing them since I am aware of that.   The phones purchased were upon the advice of counsel, btw.  There is absolutely no record of any "burner" phone purchase or use prior to June 28, 2010.

Is everyone aware that the LE agencies involved in this case, have the capability to listen to both sides of the conversation on those bat phones within 100 yards of TH, which is probably how they learned about them in the first place? The deputy inside the home, and undoubtedly trailing TH in the following weeks was also wired. Point is, this little brain trust of hers, who now find themselves in the middle of a criminal investigation, are not masterminds.

What kind of conversations do you need to have outside of LE monitoring when their is a 7 year old missing would be my question. .... B

INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW

Why have MCSO and MCDA not taken action?  Why has Terri Horman at the very least not been held legally responsible for the illegal possession of a firearm?  In defiance of Oregon court restraining/no-contact/civil orders ... official reports confirm that Terri was in possession of a firearm when in November, 2015 California authorities responded to a complaint alleging she had stolen a firearm.

Terri is the definition of teflon when it comes to being held legally accountable for wrongdoing ... nothing sticks.

Moulton is accused of taking a handgun from her roommate in Marysville, Calif. back in November 2015.

Our sister-station in Sacramento confirmed that Moulton was charged with grand theft of a firearm.  Officers said she had the stolen gun on her when she was interviewed.

Police issued a warrant for her arrest when she missed her arraignment on the charge.

She was booked into the Yuba County Jail under the name Terry Moulton on July 4. 2016. She has a hearing in the case scheduled for December 16.

Terri Lynn Moulton, also known as Terri Horman, is facing charges for allegedly stealing the handgun in 2015. Her roommate said Moulton stole it from a safe in his Marysville, California home.  When contacted by police, officers say Moulton had the stolen gun in her possession.

The charges are unrelated to Kyron Horman's disappearance.

Terri Horman is not allowed within 150 feet of the home where her estranged husband, Kaine, lives with their daughter Kiara.

That's according to a civil no-contact order signed Thursday by Judge Henry Kantor.

It replaces a restraining order that had been in place since Kaine was told three years ago that law enforcement officials had evidence Terri had hired a hit man to kill him.

Kaine had just had the restraining order renewed a few weeks ago.

The order also prevents her from approaching Kiara’s daycare, Kaine's office at Intel in Hillsboro and the gym he works out at in Beaverton.

She is also prohibited from approaching Skyline Elementary where their son Kyron was last seen in June 2010.

The order is part of the ongoing divorce proceedings between the two.

The Court does not issue restraining orders like popcorn.  What proof did he have?

I agree.  There must have been a foundation for the restraining order.  Could it be that there was a 911 call?

Think about it.  In 2010 Kaine was issued a restraining order against Terri.  Terri was not allowed contact with Kiara.  Terri did referred to the MFH allegation in an interview as being the catalyst.

Considering investigative media reports are silent regarding details encompassing these restraining orders could it be that documents are sealed to the public?

Off to a local horse show to watch almost 16 year old granddaughter compete.  Papa is donning his "I hate horse shows" T-shirt ... a T-shirt that he wore to shows when her mother competed as a teenager.  Believe it or not this guy gets applause from other parents/grandparents when he enters the arena.

Apparently you are better than you think because in 2015 Hockensmith purchased the additional (approx 40 acres) property below hers ( 13001towards SPringville and 128th) and THAT property abuts some of the NW Springville Rd parcels. I do encourage anyone reading here with an interest to pull up the Multnomah County Property maps, but also, then follow some of the routes via google if you want to get an idea just what this terrain is like.

Where is cw618? I haven't been able to dig up the property, that Blink suggested from above.  I am interested to see where Westwind farms (Dede's old work place)
is on the map. Cw618 is good at geography and simplifying what seems to be hairy.

Hi seahorse- that post was from me, not Janet, but I appreciate your response.  I am sorry that you feel any posters are "unkind" to Desiree or Kaine- I try to be very moderate and probably go out of my way NOT to be unkind and factual but I can respect your opinion for sure.  I rarely post here because it seems only one person ever posts at all and it is 100% villifying a woman who has never been charged with a crime.

BOTTOM LINE!!  Considering Kaine and Desiree's ongoing briefings with investigators ... I NEVER doubt their respective words in regard to the investigation into their precious
son.  If the focus is Terri ... so be it!

CW618?  I agree. One of her Map Quest links would sure be appreciate in regards to the exact location of tomorrows search.  I would like to know if this area been searched in the past.  It may not be new info that has sparked this search but it do believe that search is beyond random.

Thanks CW.  My daughter and family have just arrived with Chinese food following a horse show. After we all have a bite I will have grandson or SIL follow your instructions. Good Morning seahorse

Hey ... not too long after dinner daughter and family left for their 45 drive home.  As their vehicle with a horse trailer in tow backed down the driveway ... I remembered that I was going to ask my grandson/SIL to baby-step me through CW's instructions. Anyways ... I have had my morning cuppa coffee and ... the cobwebs are clearing. Following church ... A DEDE TIP?

Today I am holding Kyron parents/family in my prayers.  The not-knowing must be h---.

My prayer is that the search today is all about locating burner phones ... burner phones that were reportedly purchased by Dede, Terri and a friend at the the end of June 2010. Could it be that contrary to past claims by Dede and Terri ... burner phones were also purchased prior to Kyron's disappearance?

Think about it.  Dede allegedly has immunity from prosecution in exchange for her cooperation with the investigation.  Dede's own attorney is stated that his client has had no contact with Terri since July 2010.

Searchers hit West Hills for renewed search for Kyron Horman

The seven-year-old investigation into the disappearance of Kyron Horman took to the West Hills on Sunday.

Multnomah County's search and rescue team along with other volunteers arrived at Northwest Springville Road and Skyline Boulevard early Sunday for a new search. The area is about five miles from Skyline Elementary School where Kyron was last seen at the age of 7.

Sgt. Brandon White, sheriff's spokesman, declined to say how many people would be involved. At least a dozen cars streamed past the barricade by 7:30 a.m. The search was due to start at 8 a.m.

Detectives did not appear to be following any new, hot clues.

"It's nothing new," White said. "Kyron Horman is an open case. It is a case that's near and dear to our hearts and we're not giving up."

Desiree Young, Kyron's mother, declined to comment on the search, saying she'd been instructed not to comment about specifics.

"I will say that our law enforcement team acts with intention and skill based on solid case tips and evidence," she said in an email. "No matter the outcome, it gives us hope that Kyron's team hasn't given up on him and they continue to search for him. I pray that this will help us in Kyron's case and that we will bring him home."
