ok someone had posted a MAX ARENDS of a speed shop had been arrested, this is a very well known freind (better known than steve...recent friend) it was NOT him...apparently it was JOrans class mate that was already interviewed by the police.......he is in the saem class as JOran.....but again im not 100% sure of that but i AM sure it wasnt maxito arends of the speed shop

So, just to clarify, you are saying that Max Arends, friend of JvdS from International School WAS the one questioned by police?  As far as you know Maxito the race car driver WAS NOT questioned?

So are there 2 Max Arends or not? has this been resolved?

Yes there are 2.  One is a classmate of joran, not the same guy questioned.  The other is in his 20's and was questioned and released

One topic about supposedly "how she partied." If she had drinks--WHO CARES... Come on people--was everyone an innocent angel when they were 18 and abided ALL RULES?

I know for a fact at 18--I was not perfect-went to parties and drank.  Guys and Girls hook up...

Good Gosh--was everyone not a drinker until 21, a smoker until 18 and didn't have sex until marriage..........

"down south" people?!?!  What are you trying to say?  I'm from a suburb of Atlanta.  I planned / organized my high school trip.  There were 16 of us, and we went to Jamaica, with no chaperones, and it's not exactly a "safe" destination.  I was the one pretty much "in charge" and I was 17 at the time.  We all made it back safe and sound, although there is always the possibility of something going wrong.  Some of my classmates were hanging out with locals while we were there, fortunately for us, we happened to have met good people from the island.

I would say that I am surprised that she felt comfortable to leave on her own with them, but that's what makes me think that perhaps something was slipped in her drink.  I was with a friend who had something slipped in her drink, and I know first-hand how she acted.  On the other hand, if she had hung out with him for a few days prior, it's not all that unusual.  I've gotten in a car with someone that I've only known for a couple of days and not thought twice about it.

 I agree with you..everyone is entitled to their own opinions..I am new..and have been reading this for weeks.I decided to join today finally....I have read all that I could ..not only on this site but others!! I have asked questions on here and got no answers either..!! I guess us newbie people dont matter cuz we wernt here from the beginning..thats IMO...!! I have read ALOT and feel like I know everyone...I wish I would of joined sooner..

I doubt your questions were ignored.  Sometimes the posts move so fast it is hard to keep up and you were probably just overlooked.  I wasn't here from day one either, but I feel like I am welcome here.  I think the main point is that nobody here wants to read any posts that are negative about Natalee or anyone else on the trip.  It is human nature to speculate and that is fine, but let's just please try to keep any rude comments about Natalee out of this forum.  She is the victim, whether was was drunk or not, whether she got in the car willingly or not...and whether she was wanting to spend time with Joran in the wee hours of the morn on her last night in Aruba or not....she is the VICTIM.  If you are part of the minority that thinks otherwise, perhaps your comments would be more appreciated on another blog.   And when I say "you" or "your" I mean that generally.  I'm not point to anyone specific (except maybe one who's name I won't mention but it starts with a "D" and ends with "evilsadvocate")

Thank you.. I am surely not here to bash anyone.. I agree she is the victim.. And there have been posts I have read where others attacked chaperones ..friends.. etc... I worked with PD for years.. and my heart goes out to everyone that I tryed to help...I did it because I care for people...and perhaps this is why I am interested in this case also.. for justice to be served. The truth will come out and hopefully soon.. it always does!

I think the consensus is that the Max Arends who was arrested was the other one, who went to high school with Joren.

well i am new and didnt know this had all been discussed sheesh.

It's ok. I just hope you understand that we have all discussed it and come to pretty much the same opinion.  Certainly no one is perfect, but most of us agree that Natalee wasn't doing anything "slutty" or immoral that night.

Well we know she was drunk, and sick in a bar where drugs are being sold. Then left with 3 guys she doesnt know to an isolated beach. Maybe she was willing to make a gangbang video? Who knows? Who cares? All this talk about her character is totally irrelevent! Shut up about "Natalee is a goodie goodie 2 shoes southern belle Scarlet O'hara and would never do anything bad" allready! You are insulting everyones intelligence!

Let me make this clear, I don't think she was a goodie 2 shoes who would never do anything bad. I wouldn't doubt it that she did do some bad things in aruba.  But in this particular case we have no evidence she did anything wrong.
Lots of girls get in cars with guys at night and think nothing of it, several posters have already attested to this.

The only people who have said she drunk were the suspects who have already lied and changed their stories. If you want to believe them then go ahead, but it could just as easily be that she was drugged.  And how wsa she supposed to know drugs were sold there? Did she research the entire island?  

She might have done all the things you said, but until I see evidence I will believe her friends family instead of the speculations and rumors you're so fond of posting here and the stories of three liars who may have killed her.  

The reason her character matters is that many people seem to be placing the blame on her, something that happens in cases like this.

the scuffle between Joran and some of the boys from Mountain Brook took place at the Holiday Inn Casino when Joran was with Natalee then, a few days earlier, as reported by the Birmingham News

This must be one of the cases which information is not mentioned or contained. Yes there was a shoving match that very same night, to me it sounds like something serious. almost to blows, but we do not know the reason ...I think this is a crucial information and some will dismiss this as nonrelevant.

There was a rumor that Natalee had a boyfriend from Mountain Brook that made the trip. It would be interesting to hear more about the scuffle in the bar.

It has been stated that she did NOT have a boy friend.

Maybe this is a dumb question.. Has anyone or any of her roomates actually seen her pack her bags that were in the hotel room?? When would she have done that??  If a roomate was there..perhaps they may have seen her do so. I havnt heard anything about that.. I just wondered  about that..

1) I never said he was arrested. I posted his name but I thought everyone knew he was only questioned and released.

2) According to his sister, it is NOT the Max Arends who went to school with Joran. she said her brother is totally freaked out because the press is calling him for an interview and he doesn't know what they're talking about. Joran's classmate says he's NEVER talked to the police.
