Well look, when people blame Natalee, her friends, chaperones, family, or say she isn't a victim, say she acted stupidly....etc...people will get angry at you, and they should. There is a Theory and Speculation forum, and that's where those things belong. In here we discuss news and actual facts, and the people in here, including me and other people from Mountain Brook, do not put up with slander. That's why everyone is getting so annoyed.

If she o.d.'d on a drug she willingly took; not a victim (unless you nit-pick and say, in these cases, she's a victim of her own stupidity). If she died of alcohol poisoning after over-doing the partying; not a victim. If she willingly disappeared for whatever reason; not a victim. If she committed suicide while tripping on acid; not a victim. If she guzzled white-lightening and cracked her head open on a boat-ramp; not a victim.

If the airline messed up and sent luggage to Alabama and nh to Venezuela; THEN she'd be a victim, but merely of typical airline incompetence.

Point being, it's not known yet. Even if I assume, for the sake of delineating a theory, that she IS a victim of routine homocide, it's also quite relevant to discuss what led up to her involvement with the hypothetical killers.

Victim or no victim, this is a place for speculation, which I, and lots of others, will continue to do.

THe problem that a lot of us have with those scenarios is why would the three lie and point the finger at one another. I mean if she just drank too much and fell off a cliff or something why try and hide the body and not tell the truth? Doesn't make sense.  The O.D. theory is something that makes good sense I think, sense the boys may have supplied her with the drugs, giving them a reason for her not to be found. It might also explain the party boat captains involvement.

That is the VERY BEST INVESTIGATIVE QUESTION I'VE HEARD IN THREE WEEKS..good job!!! see WHO SHE TOOK PICS OF!! MAYBE ON THE TATTOO..if she did truly go there??

UPDATE 30:The latest updates in the Natalee Holloway case concerns mostly reports on the van der Sloot family. The media has been reporting widely that Paulus van der Sloot has been questioned by police on Saturday and Sunday. Police superintendent Jan van der Straaten affirmed that van der Sloot was purely questioned as a witness, no more or no less, but the fact remains that Paulus van der Sloot has also been suspended from his duties as judge-in-training by the court of the Dutch Antilles and Aruba. Also according to a recent article in AD, The mother of Joran van der Sloot, Anita, stated that the intention was to send Joran to the United States so he could continue with his studies there. So if this case had not taken place, Joran would have been in the United States right now arranging his personal affairs to establish himself there for the next few years. So this case is affecting the van der Sloot family as a whole, but the fact that Joran has not collaborated truthfully until now (considering the fact that he and the brothers Kalpoe have been changing there testimonies numerous times) is certainly not helping. The latest story Hasibokos.com got from Joran is what the ex-suspect Abraham Jones told his attorney after he had spoken to van der Sloot who was in cel next to him (Update 21). According to Abraham Jones, Joran said that he caught a ride home with the Kapoe brothers when he left C‘NC and that Natalee was in the car a that time. On the other hand, in recent interview conducted by FoxNews this weekend with students who were part of the group that went to Aruba, they indicated that Joran was seen dancing with Natalee in C’NC and was consequently also seen leaving with him. The students also indicated that Joran was seen frequently (sometimes in company of Natalee) at the Casino of their hotel. These conflicting stories are causing chaos, hindering the developments in solving the case and also burdening all the families Holloway, van der Sloot, Kalpoe and recently Croes who are all personally affected by this case.

Of the last one it’s not yet known what he is being suspected of precisely. The same article in the AD reported that in contrast with the others, the fourth suspect, Steve Croes is not believed to be close friends with the group of Joran van der S. and the brothers K. According to his boss Marcus Wiggins, C knows Deepak K. from an internet cafe. He said that Croes was arrested on Friday after he had given a voluntarily testimony the day before. The family of Croes, who are also not allowed to visit him, do not understand why he is being detained. “Steve would never murder anyone “, says Jeanet Gei who is his ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, the 3-year-old Steve junior. ,, He would easily start crying just after he’d stepped on a lizard'' Even the lawyer of Steve Croes has indicated that he doesn’t have a clue of what his client is being suspected of, as he hasn’t received any documents from the justice department.

We shouldn’t forget that Aruba as an island and the locals from Alabama are also going trough a terrible time. It’s certainly in everyone’s best interest that this case is resolved shortly

Re camera:

NBC yesterday did a piece on this. Said her camera was with her packed bags in her hotel room. She found the camera and finally decided to look at the pictures. Had her prom pics on it, her graduation and photos from Aruba. I think for sure the FBI is checking out the photos.

Her parents are staying in her room, with her belongings, I am sure they already got the pictures developed.  Some of the pictures that they have been showing was when she was in Aruba.  I am sure she had pics and the police probably have them.

35mm??  Nowadays any well repected student has DIGITAL CAMERAS

Let me begin by saying in no way am I trying to tick anyone off.  

I’ve been lurking here since the beginning of this case, and I post every now and again.  Today (like most days) there seems to be confusion and disagreement about what transpired in the time immediately before Natalee’s mysterious disappearance.  I came across the following post many days ago, and later Dash told us here at Scared Monkeys that it was written by her mother.  I have emailed Dash's mother, and she confirmed that she wrote it and gave me permission to copy and paste it if it will help clear up misconceptions.  Dash was on the trip.  She was Natalee's partner in Calculus, and knows her very well.  If you have any questions about why Natalee “got in a car with three boys she didn’t really know” or why “her friends didn’t stop her,” PLEASE read it:

“. . .NATALEE WAS NOT THE GIRL WHO WAS SICK IN THE BATHROOM AT C&C's! My daughter had already told me she was puzzled by that story 'cause she neither saw nor heard anything of the kind regarding Natalee. We were at the vigil yesterday and they were discussing that... It turned out to be other girls on the trip. Somebody had mentioned that at church and these girls went, "Oh no! That was US!" It was definitely not Natalee. You can understand the error. Have you noticed from the photos that 80% of the girls look just alike?

My daughter spoke with Natalee right after C&C's closed. My daughter & her friends came across Nat & Joran as all were exiting the club, and all were walking more or less together toward another group of classmates.

Natalee was walking unassisted (not falling down drunk), spoke ok (though not answering in long sentences), and was not touching Joran. My daughter only noticed that Joran was tall, dark-haired, American-looking; he did not speak and she couldn't read his facial expressions. Nat turned down my daughter's invitation to go with her little group. (Ironically, they were about to circle the inside of another club to make sure no others were left behind.)

Nat assured them that she was fine, and said she was going to go back to the hotel "with THEM," pointing to the MBHS group just a few yards ahead. The Kalpoes were nowhere in sight; neither was the car.

Next {woman’s daughter} heard was that Natalee got into a car that many in the group had thought was a taxi. (Those look like regular cars.) It may be that the Kalpoes pulled up on the street before Natalee reached the next group; Joran may have deliberately stalled her. The group may not have even realized she was behind them, approaching.

But while we hear that she got in the car willingly, we know from her comments that it was not her pre-planned intention. Because of this, I do not believe she knew she would be going anywhere but a fairly short distance down to the hotel. Her plans changed in the blink of an eye, and she was gone . . .“
