33 yo Leanne Hecht Bearden Missing Since 1/17/14

You know, I can sympathize with this woman.  I have been off work for almost 2 years, cannot find a job because of the economy and my age, decided to go on and retire.  The thought of going back to work now gives me chills.  I find that I don't want to rejoin the workforce, have lost all my confidence in myself, and cannot seem to accept my new life.  Maybe she is going through these similar things.  No matter what anyone says being off work for this length of time makes it extremely hard to come to terms of going back to the way life should be, not traveling the world and spending every minute, every waking hour with your husband.  I would think both of them learned a LOT about each other over the course of the last 2 years.  I love my family and wouldn't trade it for anything but it is different spending every waking minute with your loved ones.  Sometimes I just "go for a walk" to be alone but never have I had the feeling that I want to keep walking.  JMO after reading through this.

One more thing, I would really rather hear from her family on what is going on instead of his family.  Again, JMO.

SAN ANTONIO -

The family of missing woman Leanne Bearden posted on their Facebook that evidence leads them to believe she may have voluntarily left the area of Garden Ridge.

A local private investigator reviewed several text, email, and voicemail messages over the last three months and said there is a strong possibility that Bearden was not happy being back in the United States after travelling the world for two years.

Leanne Bearden has been missing for the past 12 days. She was last seen leaving her in-law's house in Garden Ridge for what she said was to be a one hour walk. She has not been seen or heard from by her family. After an extensive air and land search of a 23 square-mile area including Garden Ridge and the immediate surrounding area, no evidence was found of her presence.

Private investigator Charlie Parker said he won't stop looking until she's found.

“We're searching every aspect and still interviewing people. We're interviewing any lead that we get, and we're keeping track of it. The Garden Ridge Police Department is working with us, and they're ... not giving up," said Parker.

I'd like to hear what her friends have to say too.  It bugged me when I read a comment on FB that the family had asked Leanne's friends not to speak to the media (something like they wanted to make sure only accurate information was reported).

I hope Leanne walked away because that would mean that she could be safe somewhere, but it just doesn't ring true for me.  If she has contacted someone, they need to let LE and the  public know she's o.k., the rest is her business.  She is 33 years old, had a career, was the lead singer in a band(s?), and bought her own home BEFORE she married Josh.  Those are signs of independence and stability imo.  From what I've read, she had been in contact with friends and made plans to meet up with some when she returned to Denver.  If she'd planned to walk away from her marriage, I don't think she would have done it this way; unless she felt like she didn't have a choice.  Leanne and Josh were at his parent's alone, no one really knows what was going on. 

The red flags are still there for me, I really hope I'm wrong.

Leanne Bearden, Two Weeks Later

It was two weeks ago today that Leanne Bearden vanished.

Here is the statement I recieved today from Garden Ridge Police Chief Donna O'Conner:

"I met with Josh, his parents & Mr. Parker. No new evidence has developed to cause us to believe that foul play was involved. The possibility that Ms. Bearden is in a period of adjustment could make her vulnerable and I continue to ask others to notify their local police agency if they see her. Our mutual goal is to find Leanne and provide her the support that she needs."

Josh is Josh Bearden, Leanne's husband.  Mr Parker is Private Investigator Charlie Parker.

Here's the timeline as best as I can put it togheter.

1:30 - leanne leaves

Josh notices she is going. Goes searching. Can't find her. Freaks out. Calls parents. They tell him to call the cops

5:20 - police are called.

Literally, that's all we can pin down.

Other wise why  take your credit cards with you. But they haven't been used as far as I know. So has something happened to her. I hope she is found safe & soon.

I was in the same place until it dawned on me that we don't know if she took her credit cards or if they were 'disappeared' with her intentionally or not.  Unless I am mistaken, we only know of the credit cards because Josh said that's what happened.  The harder I fight the thoughts that he knows more than he's telling, the more reasons I find to believe that she didn't take off on her own.

Clues Add To Mystery Of Leanne Bearden's Disappearance

"It's hard," Bearden's husband, Josh Bearden, told The Huffington Post. "In the beginning I was crying a lot and not sleeping. I'm still not sleeping much, but I am crying less because I'm so confused and trying to find out what happened."
 
According to Josh Bearden, he recently discovered his backpack and some nutrition bars are missing from the couple's belongings. Additionally, a person recently came forward with what police believe is a credible story of a sighting of a person matching Leanne Bearden's description and walking toward Texas 1-35 on the day of her disappearance. As a result, Josh Bearden is wondering if his wife could have taken off of her own accord.

"We just don't know what happened that day," he said. "We know she left own her own, but we don't know what happened to her after that."
 
The missing backpack and the possible sighting has Josh Bearden wondering if the pressure of transitioning from a two-year trip back into a "normal" life could have prompted his wife to take off.

"She was very anxious about coming back to America, but things were not bad [between us], and I never in a million years thought she would leave," he said.

According to Josh Bearden, his wife took her wallet with her on her walk, but had very little cash. He estimates the amount to be $60 or less. He also said she did not have a cell phone with her at the time.

The Garden Ridge Police Department is leading the investigation in Bearden's disappearance. According to a spokesperson, authorities have "no indication at this time that this is criminal in nature."

While Josh Bearden does acknowledge the possibility that his wife may have taken off, he said that does not mean she is not in danger now.

"Nobody has seen her since the day she went missing," he said. "My worst fear is she got abducted. All of us are fearing the worst right now."

Kind of off topic, but I'm wondering how you travel the world.  Do you have a tour guide?  I would think after traveling the world for two years, she would have welcomed the opportunity to lay her head in the same place for an extended time.  I wonder if she was running from something.  Herself?  I'm thinking she would definitely be able to use the skills she learned while traveling to kind of disappear herself if that's what she wanted.  Very curious thing.

It is a video of Josh and Leanne in bumper cars in Saranda, Albania.  I watched it, thought his comments were odd too, considering.

So...Josh makes the video private (instead of just deleting Peter's comment or disabling comments) and is now commenting on a Youtube Peter Hyatt uploaded in 2010. 

WHY?

I've actually seen the video and the comments mentioned in other forums as well, so maybe that had something to do with his making it private.  But if it's innocent, why care what others think about it?  Why not let everyone judge for themselves?

Why is he letting Peter Hyatt's statement analysis get under his skin?

Why be concerned with this at all right now if he truly believes Leanne is really missing and vulnerable?

Can't help but wonder if the Josh's statement could come from a place of understanding?

I've seen a lot of people question whether Leanne met up with someone, was having an affair etc.

What about him?

They had been staying on his home turf for a few weeks when Leanne disappeared.  What contacts has he had with old friends?  Was he having contact with anyone he'd met during their travels?  In reading their travel blogs I noticed that they met up with one of his female friends from Denver that had moved to Buenos Aires.  Not that it means anything other than what was described, but there is obviously contact with old friends.  http://www.goexplore365.com/2013_11_03_archive.html

Did he resent Leanne for any reason?  Just from the little I've looked at them, I can see some possibilities.  His dad made a statement about them being opposites, that makes sense to me the more I've seen and read about them.  In normal life those differences may not cause problems when you're both working and doing all the other things life requires, but when you're together 24/7 for 22 months maybe some resentment builds?

Was she the only one having anxiety or trouble adjusting?  The first statement I saw about that came from his sister.  Did she get that information from actually speaking with Leanne or from Josh?

Just some questions I've been thinking about...and as always JMO.

Why not just share it from his account and tag her in the post?  Surely he expected LE to be monitoring her account?  Not to mention her family and friends seeing a notification that she'd shared something!
