Can I view their interview online....? Foxnews.com maybe? Or I wonder if that Natalee Holloway tripod site has it up yet? Anyone know?

Beth mentioned the suit in the interview.  But they did not stop much.  Said they had contact through the lawyer.  Then mentioned that if they were going to have access they had to file something and she and Natalee's father decided they had to have a lawyer and do this.  I missed the whatever it was they were filing.

Is there a transcript of the interview.  I hate audio files and would much rather read it than hear it again.

If he is guilty and convicted, he is also a minor and would probably get even less due to his youth.  I'm not sure if they are allowed to charge him as an adult, like in this country.  Maybe someone knows, but if charged as a minor would get far less.  Maybe someone else can confirm that or add more.

Under dutch law anyone over the age of 16 is treated as an adult.
Lincoln Gomez is a very good friend of mine and I will ask him about the penalties tomorrow. But I believe it's 20 to life for murder cases......
(I cannot remember anyone getting more then 20 though)

Native - Does 20 years mean 20 years?  In other words, here in the states you can get a 20 year sentence and get out on parole in 7.

Thanks for your help as usual!

If you go to Greta's site on Fox you will find the transcripts.  It's a little hard to find as it's under archived interviews.  I'll go look and see if I can find it for you.

Someone in the Greta interview said it would be highly unlikely to convict without a body. Did anyone else hear that?

Another report from Dan Riehl:

Joran v d Sloot: A Contrast In Character
Following up on a story by Steve Huff of The Dark Side, having reviewed certain records, including text and images, which cannot be made public as they involve minors not implicated in this case, it does seem apparent that 17 year old high school senior Joran v d Sloot walked a strange and wide line between man and boy.

Apparently, at the same time 6'4" school athelete was said to be a proficient gambler frequenting the clubs and casinos in Aruba, he was also known to have had an apparent romantic involvement with a 7th grade girl of thirteen until her parents learned of the relationship and made their daughter break off the relationship back in March.

Read more about it here: http://www.planethuff.com/darkside/archives/cat_the_vanishing_of_natalee_holloway.html

What, if any, are the laws regarding statutory rape in Aruba?

Is it actually legal for a 17 year old to have sexual relations with a 13 year old there?

NO...It's Illegal

I think that's just a uniform for show, looks better than a t-shirt and jeans, goes with the theme of the boat.  Plus the people they have interviewed on tv make me believe he doesn't operate the boat.  Just my opinion.  Flame me......

I was wondering about that, too.  But in the photos, there are other staff wearing t-shirts that have the Tattoo logo on them, and only one or two men are wearing pilot's uniforms.  Maybe he just played Gilligan and helped out by operating the water taxis, but not the party boat itself...

No...20 is usually NOT 20...they do take time off for good behavior, for pre-trial time in custody, etc.

#2. As someone who is around teens a lot...A 16-17 year old and a 13-14 year old is certainly not a rare occurence in the southern United States. I've seen a lot of 13 year old girls act like they are going on 20 and a lot of 17 year old boys who act like they are 13. Kudos to the mother for breaking it off because it would seem too great an age discrepancy giving Joran's free styling ways, but it is not so outside of the norm that it should be the subject of speculation for anything other than what it appears to be on the surface.  Not that I would want to suggest that anyone curb speculation on this forum in any way...How foolish would that be....LOL...

http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/journals/2903097.html

No 13 year old can legally have sex in the United States.

In fact, in Alabama, if a 17 year old were to have sex with a 12 year old, he can be sentenced to death.

If I had a 13 year old daughter who was taken advantage of by the likes of JVDS, I would be going with the justifiable homicide defense.

Hi, I've been reading the board for over a week and finally registered today.  I love reading all your messages...when I can keep up, that is.  :)

Perhaps it's been mentioned before but does anyone have an address for the hotal Beth Twitty is staying at?  I'd love to send her a card and perhaps others might want to send something as well.  She may not have time to read our messages but at least she'll know that we're thinking of her and her family at this time.

You guys are great.  I look forward to reading more.  Adding my prayers and thoughts to many others for the Holloway family.

I THINK YOU ARE WRONG,  JORAN IS A MINOR FOR PURPOSES OF THIS CASE AND THAT IS CONFIRMED BY THE PUBLIC MINISTRY IN THE SUBJECT ARTICLE IN AMIGOE.   ARE YOU CONFUSING SEX CRIMES?   WHAT ARE THE DUTCH AGES OF CONSENT?

Native Lingo -- can you tell us what you've heard today on the other missing persons report and another possible murder (not the partial decapitation) that was discussed earlier today, and if there has been any association with the Holloway case?

Yikes; so if Jaron is charged and found guilty of murder (yeah, big assumption at this point), he could be out in his mid 30's??  Shocked
