Amber alert issued for infant son of woman accused of starving 5-year-old stepson
October 6, 2014

A Houston regional Amber Alert for a 6-week-old baby has been canceled, less than 90 minutes after it was issued Monday afternoon. The alert, issued for the infant son of Tami Bleimeyer, was canceled about 4:20 p.m., after authorities found the baby was safe.

The Texas Center for the Missing and Child Protective Services had been looking for 6-week-old William Bleimeyer, the biological son of Tami Bleimeyer, who was previously charged with felony child endangerment regarding her severely malnourished 5-year-old stepson, Jordan Bleimeyer.

CPS previously removed all seven of her other children from the home, according to the Amber Alert.

A judge had ordered her to surrender the baby to CPS, but Bleimeyer, 33, could not immediately be found.

Amber Alert canceled: 6-week-old baby boy found safe
October 6, 2014

An Amber Alert for a 6-week-old baby boy has been canceled after he was found safe. No details about his whereabouts were released.

HOUSTON – An Amber Alert for a 6-week-old baby boy has been canceled after he was found safe.

The infant, William Bleimeyer, was with his mother Tami Bleimeyer, at a hospital in Porter. An employee recognized her from the Amber Alert and called authorities.

She was ordered to surrender the baby to CPS last week, but later disappeared.

Bleimeyer and her husband were charged with felony child endangerment earlier this year after her 5-year-old stepson was found beaten and starved in their Spring home. The couple forced the boy to live in a closet, according to court documents.

The victim is now living with relatives of his biological mother.

Bleimeyer later lost custody of her seven biological children.

Since then, she's been out on bond, awaiting trial.

Mother responsible for Amber Alert to appear in court for custody hearing
October 7, 2014

HOUSTON – The mother who triggered a two-hour long Amber Alert Monday was expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

Tammie Bleimeyer reportedly ignored court orders to turn her 6-week-old son over to Child Protective Services and instead took him to a doctor's appointment in Porter.

Bleimeyer already lost custody of her six other children after she was charged with child endangerment for what happened to her stepson.

In a case that grabbed headlines, the 5-year-old was found malnourished and living under a staircase at her home in Spring.

Tammi wants her kids back. But Tuesday's hearing focused on her parents, who are seeking custody of all seven children.

Her mother, Karen Dunn, took the stand. She's the one who called CPS in March to report that Jordan Bleimeyer was being abused. She told the court that she made the call even though she didn't think Tammi would let her see any of her grandchildren anymore.

"If she can't be reunited at this time while the case is still pending, grandparents would be the next best place," Caiata says.
