Police launch search for missing Eastport woman

Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 6:23 am

EASTPORT (AP) — Authorities are launching a search for an eastern Maine woman who went missing a decade ago.
State and local police with dog teams are scheduled to begin searching a 14-acre tract of land behind Marilyn Lehan's former Eastport home on Thursday.

Lehan, who would be 59, lived in the home from 2002 until 2004. It is now owned by another family.

Family members said she may have moved away in 2004 but they have not seen or heard from her since. Repeated attempts to locate her have failed. Her family officially reported her missing to Eastport police last summer. She often went long periods with no contact with family.

Her husband has relocated to California.

Lehan is described as 5-feet-9, with brown hair and brown eyes.

might be a little hard to track, how she left the island, if she did leave the island
after 10yr, one road and ferry or plane to get off, there is a state park, on the south
end of island.   http://goo.gl/maps/qpHr1

Lehan is 59-years-old, 5’9″ tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. The photos below are from the 1990s.

Family members say she may have moved away, but they have not heard from her since.

They have told police it was not uncommon for her to be out of touch for long periods of time.

They officially reported her missing to Eastport Police in the summer of 2013.

Thursday morning, dog teams will search through a 14 acre area behind her old home.

Anyone who knows where she might be is asked to call Eastport Police or Det. Micah Perkins of the State Police at 1-800-432-7381.

I felt the urge to add a word to the title.
