SAN DIEGO - An Amber Alert was issued Saturday night for a four-year-old boy, according to police.

Wesley Hilaire, 4, was last seen walking along the water just before 8 p.m. in the area of 2800 E. Mission Bay Dr on Fiesta Island, police said.

According to witnesses, Wesley was seen walking away with an adult male.

Wesley was visiting the beach for the first time with his aunt and other family members. The family was packing up for the day when they noticed him missing, San Diego police said.

Lifeguards will return to Fiesta Island at 5:30 a.m. to search the surrounding water ways.

Wesley is described as a black male, 4 feet 2 inches tall and 40 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing red shorts and no shirt.

Police describe the adult male as black, 6 feet tall, 235 pounds with short black hair, unshaven with a dark complexion. The man was last seen wearing a grey shirt, dark blue jeans with a hole in the right knee and wearing flip flops.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.
