Amber Alert Issued for 3-Year-Old Southwest Va. Boy Tommy Lee Able Engle

An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday afternoon for a 3-year-old southwest Virginia boy.

According to Virginia State Police, Tommy Lee Able Engle was last seen Monday around 6:30 p.m. on Oak Hill Lane in Critz, Va.

Authorities believe the boy was abducted by his father, Tommy Lee Travis Engle, who they said has made suicidal and homicidal threats toward law enforcement.

The two may be traveling in a blue 2001 Dodge Neon with Virginia tags WNZ-9169. Engle may be armed with an AK-47 and a bulletproof vest.

CRITZ, Va. (WUSA9) -- An Amber Alert was issued for a child abducted in the Commonwealth of Virginia, officials said.

Tommy Lee Able Engle, 3, of Critz, Va. was abducted by his father, Tommy Lee Travis Engle, police said.

Police say Tommy Lee Able may be in serious danger, because his abductor is may be armed with an AK-47.

Tommy Lee Able is 3-feet-tall and 35lbs, with short blonde hair and blue eyes.

"White male, 6 feet 03 inches, 200 Lbs, Brown hair, Brown eyes. May be armed with AK-47 and in possession of ballistics vest. Has made suicidal threats and homicidal threats towards law enforcement," police said.

PATRICK COUNTY, Va. — The AMBER Alert issued Tuesday for three-year-old Tommy Lee Able Engle has been cancelled. Engle was found unharmed in Pikeville, Kentucky, according to Patrick Sheriff Dan Smith.
