Did anybody else catch Dan Riehl's critique of Greta's blog about the coverage from Aruba?

Damn! Pretty harsh interpretation, but an interpretation that fits my instincts about a high-profile MSM figure.

Apparently, he is not impressed at all about her show tonight.

http://www.riehlworldview.com/

I was rather shocked to see this on Dan's site.  Greta's blog is meant to be folksy and intimate. She writes from airplanes, airports, etc. I like it.  Dan also shares his emotions, and tells us in detail his challenges in covering this case on his blog.

I think he was off base on this one.

me too. Wonder if he's jealous because she scooped him? Wink

She has posted the whole letter what more do you want her to do, without her getting in trouble.

I'm not trying to scare WW, but she is probably already in trouble for posting this letter. It could be considered  evidence in a missing person investigation and withholding its original source could be considered tampering. The content of this letter is not as important as the date on which it was sent (before arrests were made).

I think she knows she's not in any trouble, because if they are real (and I have seen them elsewhere, or at least portions of them) I'm sure they have been obtained.  Hence why she would post the content.

I am sure some of you will mock at this, tell me to start my own page, that i shouldnt be taking up space in the "rumors " section, etc..
but, as we all know, some of us have made friends on this site...like it or not..
However, for those of you that do care, i found a "lump" and am having tests done tomorrow to decipher just exactly what that is...if you would be so inclined, when you pray for Nat tonight, please say a short one for me....

Night monkeys...lets hope tomorrow brings Natalee home....just like Brennan....
Will do. God Bless, and good luck.

...and he had, after all, just arrived from a long transatlantic flight.  I've made the route from Amstrdam to Atlanta and it takes at least 36 hours to remember who I am, drinks or none.

I thought it was established that Anita was the one in Holland, not Paul.

DW, you are probably right.  I am always behind on these posts.  But a few pages back there was a comment of him returning from the trip and just x hours later all this breaks loose.  My bad for skipping pages.  Embarassed

It only takes a minute to get behind sometimes.  Did you watch Greta tonight?  That was very imformative.

3. IF this really is from Deepak, it's his alibi which he's already told the police and is trying to stick to. Doesn't mean it's 100% true. There may be parts which are accurate, but I'm bet the ranch on it that he's lying lying lying.

Sounds like a good scheme to me if he did write it.  Hmmm, I bet if I send my account of what happened to so and so then it is written down that I told the story to someone.......and that will help me look innocent...

Just throwing out ideas from a gal that could lie like a rug to cover her azz in the good ole days.

All I care about at this moment homestly, is I truly believe that was probabaly the most beautiful moment I have ever seen on TV....I have always said there are many victims and have had feelings for all involved...As far as someone saying Anita did a fake or staged kiss, it is or at least I was raised in the dutch culture with giving a respectful kiss on  the cheek. That was the ULTIMATE show of respect to Beth on Anita's part.

Cali, this has me weeping.  Don't get FOX, the web video didn't show the kiss part.  I too have been saying all along that all the parents are victims.

You captured it beautifully. I think these are ALL loving parents in a heart breaking situation.  They have both lost their children.  No matter what the reason that has to be the most devastating thing to happen to a parent.

I got chills when the met at the gate.

It's too damn bad warring countries can't do the same.

I found it strange that the Joran's parents agreed to an interview.  I do not think its a PR thing, but just a folksy, small town mentality saying sure why not.  I saw that piece and you know what I ve been thinking?  Im about to do a 180 turn, from believing that the Joran and Kalpoes did it to some other explanation.  The main reason is that so far no clear cut confession.  Long interrogation by police, visiting judge, and maybe under supervision of DEA and FBI.  I also saw where Jossy Mansur seem too eager to have this blow over and point the fingers to these suspect.  Earlier post I read that the Mansur family is not all that clean and squeeky.  I m sure the FBI knows the story.

I've asked this before and didn't rec'd an answer. Here is the FBI's "What we investigate" site: http://www.fbi.gov/hq.htm

Can anyone tell me what on this list applies to this case because I'm not seeing what is could be?

hey Mole , from the FBI link you posted:

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Intelligence Program is to optimally position the FBI to meet current and emerging national security and criminal threats by:

- Aiming core investigative work proactively against threats to U.S. interests,
- Building and sustaining enterprise-wide intelligence policies and capabilities, and
- Providing useful, appropriate, and timely information and analysis to the national security, homeland security and law enforcement communities.

FYI...in an interview....That Aruba editor (the american one)...Aruba live???  not sure..anyways...she said that the cameras at the HI drive entrance do not work...while she was saying this, they interrupted her...

Also, I am confused about them meeting (Joran and Natalee) in the Casino...wasn't it said that they met THAT NIGHT by the friends tonight??  I thought natalee's mom said that she saw video from the casino and that they had met a couple days before...I might be confused...who knows

Who had said that they had met a couple days before in the casino?

You think? How can you be at the SBF and at a black jack table at the same time, same night? The two girls left C&C at 12. Who did NH go to C&C with? Joran was picked up by his dad at 11 then snuck out. I'd like to know alot more about that 'scuffle" at the Aruban bar after hearing the 2 friends.
You know you are right....unless she met Joran during the day...hell, I have no idea...somebody is not telling the truth...imagine that! Shocked

Sometimes, in some circumstances, legitimate news organizations do pay for interviews. It depends on what type of show it is. The BBC paid Monics Lewinsky for an interview about her relationship with Bill Clinton.

That's the BBC. Britain also charges about $150 for a household's TV license. You can't just buy a TV and watch it. They have TV police. You have to pay to watch.

US networks DON'T PAY FOR INTERVIEWS. Tabloids like maybe current affair might, but the big four don't pay for interviews.

Yes, I know, I lived in Britain for four years. But I stand by my statement that sometimes regular networks will pay for interviews. You won't see those interviews on the regular news shows, but on the "magazine" shows.

writergal--

15 or 20 years ago, the U.S. MSM would defintely not pay for an interview. But, since they've found themselves more and more competing with "magazine" type shows--as well as actual magazines--I think they do pay on occasion now, for the really big ones. It's just something they don't talk about much.

Have no fear for WW her company on this forum and across the web is wide at this point. The origin of the first leak would be difficult past the first or second forward.

absolut.... i have a question...you have been here for days and not been shy about your knowlege or input...if this post is web-wide major then why did you wait for WW to bring it to this forum???

Dallas or someone will post a new timeline, but she met him in the afternoon and on camera in the casino in HI and introduced herself.

Later they met at CNC after he snuck out.

I would do a reverse-address lookup and find out where it originated from.
www.arin.net or www.lacnic.net would be a good place to start. Smile
