writergal--

15 or 20 years ago, the U.S. MSM would defintely not pay for an interview. But, since they've found themselves more and more competing with "magazine" type shows--as well as actual magazines--I think they do pay on occasion now, for the really big ones. It's just something they don't talk about much.

As we speak (more or less), The Runaway Bride's parent are "negotiating" with ABC.[/quote]

Maybe they're negotiating for a interview but I guarantee you it's not for pay.
Either that or they're negotiating with ABC for a made-for-TV MOVIE (which is not considered the news department). In that case, they'd be paid. But ABC NEWS will not pay for an INTERVIEW. (I think I just heard Peter Jennings and Diane Sawyer hit the floor when you even implied they would.)

I'd send it to fox and let them verify.

Do you WORK for Fox?You are such a fan-- always promoting & defending them.A true champion of Fox as the best station. You even claimed (falsely I might add) that they have the best ratings for their news. In fact, they have hardly any viewers compared to other networks.

Duh, you just had to do that, didn't you Smile

Let me rephrase:  What exactly would you do with an IP?  Look it up?  And THEN what? That would validate everything?  I don't think so.

Duh!
If it traced to an isp or address on Aruba then it would certainly cast a more favorable light on WonderWomans posts rather than just a active imagination and a flair for the dramatic!

You don't believe it, I would move on. Some will choose to believe so won't. You aren't defending facts I don't agree with, it is just info we will not and do not have.

Hey ya'll...about the email...it might not be real, yes, someone might be making it up. But then again Dash and I could be lying about who we are...especially me, because ya'll have never seen me. So everything on the internet should be taken with a grain of salt. At this point, almost nothing is fact. Just keep that in mind, and don't worry about arguing about it.

More can be done with an IP than just being traced to an ISP.  Think of it as an active imagination if you choose too, but don't be surprised at the next story that comes out of Aruba.

Later they met at CNC after he snuck out.

Yikes, it took me forever to catch up.  Just a few quick thoughts:

-I feel that email could very well be from Deepak.  However, it's basically just the alibi of a suspected criminal.  I'm sure there's some truth in it, but we're pretty sure he didn't drop off Natalee at the Holiday Inn (even Jaron is saying otherwise, and unless you think Mickey lied, Deepak is now disputing this story).

-NBC does NOT pay for interview.  They didn't even pay for the Jennifer Wilbanks interview, which will likely get a double digit rating.  The tabloid show, A Current Affair is owned by, surprise, Rupert Murcoch's Fox.

-Dan's critique of Greta is nothing short of asinine.  What the hell is his problem?  She's gotten an unbelieveable amount of info on this case in just a few days.

-I'm just not seeing the quick jump to Jaron being innocent.  The possibility has always been there, but I don't see any more reason to believe that right now than previously.

It only takes a minute to get behind sometimes.  Did you watch Greta tonight?  That was very imformative.

No - we had our cable d/c'd.  (DH was addicted to History Channel, much like my addiction with Scared Monkeys.)

Was hoping to get a good recap here.

I do not work for fox, they happen to be the only ones with full primetime coverage of a case we are following. The ratings were posted by another poster and I am sorry but those are facts. They came from a ratings table publicly available.

So...after consultation with my (quite handsome and smart husband  Very Happy ) I am sticking with Absolut, RB and WW.

(Although I did have a tough time giving him all the details without his thinking I had gone off the deep end! At one point he said, "is this one of those chain letters like from the widow of the African leader who's money is tied up?)  Very Happy  Very Happy

FYI...in an interview....That Aruba editor (the american one)...Aruba live???  not sure..anyways...she said that the cameras at the HI drive entrance do not work...while she was saying this, they interrupted her...
Also, I am confused about them meeting (Joran and Natalee) in the Casino...wasn't it said that they met THAT NIGHT by the friends tonight??  I thought natalee's mom said that she saw video from the casino and that they had met a couple days before...I might be confused...who knows
Who had said that they had met a couple days before in the casino?

You think? How can you be at the SBF and at a black jack table at the same time, same night? The two girls left C&C at 12. Who did NH go to C&C with? Joran was picked up by his dad at 11 then snuck out. I'd like to know alot more about that 'scuffle" at the Aruban bar after hearing the 2 friends.
You know you are right....unless she met Joran during the day...hell, I have no idea...somebody is not telling the truth...imagine that! Shocked

Joran was seen on cam and by Nat's friends in the casino during the time the MBHS students were there but they didn't meet each other until that night.
Wait, I thought they met in the casino, met up in the bar? Oh man, I am soooo confused... Rolling Eyes But nothing new for me.. Wink

Okay, maybe that didn't make sense.  What I meant to say was that Joran had been seen around the casino by the other kids the whole week (and on cam).  NH and VDS met in the casino on her last afternoon/early evening and then ran into each other at CnC's.  The girls Greta interviewed said VDS was not flirting and that that NH introduced herself to him.  They said he told them Sunday was not a good night to party and they were surprised to see him there later.  Hope that makes a lil more sense.

Runaway has already been paid for her tv and theatrical rights. She can't sell them to anyone. Nor can her parents. When she received her advance, it was for not just the book but for the rights to her story for theatrical (meaning tv and movie) purposes.
Anyway, no one's saying that Peter and Diane are paying for interviews. What we are saying is that the magazine shows produced by the nets do pay.

I would do a reverse-address lookup and find out where it originated from.
www.arin.net or www.lacnic.net would be a good place to start. :)

Duh, you just had to do that, didn't you :)

Let me rephrase:  What exactly would you do with an IP?  Look it up?  And THEN what? That would validate everything?  I don't think so.

This is a standard method of validating and identifying emails.  The IP can tell you where the email is sent from....the country/city and ISP.  Viewing the header also tells you the date, time the email was sent.

It still doesn't ultimately prove Depak wrote it...but, if from Aruba on the date listed it would make it well worth considering.

I get the damn shows confused...sorry.  However,

"Freshly Los Angeles, Judith Regan is about to let the ink dry on a six-figure book deal with "Runaway Bride" Jennifer Wilbanks. The deal also includes television movie rights and network interview (both likely with NBC). That Judy, moving ahead with her synergy plans."

Again, it's subject to interpretation, I suppose. Smile

so anyway, I found an important part to be the direction in which they left CnC's....

excerpt

drove out of the carlos road and got on the mainroad there were natalees friends and she , pushed het head out of the window and screamed something i can't recall.so i was driving very slow to make a left to get in the next road and then one of natalees friend screamed for her to get out of the car

maybe not enough direction for any conclusion as to where they were headed Sad
