I'd send it to fox and let them verify.

Do you WORK for Fox?You are such a fan-- always promoting & defending them.A true champion of Fox as the best station. You even claimed (falsely I might add) that they have the best ratings for their news. In fact, they have hardly any viewers compared to other networks.

I do not work for fox, they happen to be the only ones with full primetime coverage of a case we are following. The ratings were posted by another poster and I am sorry but those are facts. They came from a ratings table publicly available.

And what ratings table would that be? It's not Nielsen.

As a matter of fact, they are, but for cable news only:

Friday Ratings: P2+ & 25-54 Demo
"Bug spray or not, once again FNC somehow managed to double the other three nets COMBINED in primetime Friday," an e-mailer says. Another e-mailer put it this way: "1 FNC = 8.5 MSNBC's." Here are all the numbers:

Total viewers:

Total day: FNC: 932,000 / CNN: 371,000 / MSNBC: 171,000 / HLN: 238,000 / CNBC: 108,000

Primetime: FNC: 1,821,000 / CNN: 562,000 / MSNBC: 172,000 / HLN: 430,000 / CNBC: 77,000

25-54 demographic:

Total day: FNC: 307,000 / CNN: 104,000 / MSNBC: 57,000 / HLN: 107,000 / CNBC: 35,000

Primetime: FNC: 548,000 / CNN: 188,000 / MSNBC: 71,000 / HLN: 146,000 / CNBC: 42,000

The hourlies:

6pm: Hume: 1,292,000 / Dobbs: 472,000 / Abrams: 239,000 / Mad Money: 193,000

7pm: Shep: 1,239,000 / Cooper (sub host): 407,000 / Hardball: 181,000 / Showbiz: 187,000 / Conan: 88,000

8pm: O'Reilly: 2,000,000 / Zahn: 393,000 / Countdown (sub host): 134,000 / Grace: 551,000 / Contender: 102,000

9pm: H&C: 1,793,000 / King: 830,000 / Situation: 172,000 / Prime News: 287,000 / Mad Money repeat: 83,000

10pm: Greta: 1,670,000 / NewsNight: 463,000 / Scarborough (sub host): 210,000 / Grace repeat: 452,000 / Deutsch repeat: 45,000

FYI, Fox's top rated show, The O'Reilly factor, averages 1.8 million viewers per night.  NBC Nightly News averages 8 million per night.

As far as someone saying Anita did a fake or staged kiss, it is or at least I was raised in the dutch culture with giving a respectful kiss on  the cheek. That was the ULTIMATE show of respect to Beth on Anita's part.

I thought the kiss was genuine, as well.  Both Moms are distraught.  One has a missing daughter, one has a son in jail accused of knowing what happened.  In the end they are both Mom's who love their kids.  It ain't easy being either one about now.

The ultimate show of respect is not to place a kiss on the cheek. Even Judas was able to manage that much. The ultimate show of respect would be to recognize Beth Holloway's right to the truth.

Mama knows less than us.  Even if evidence was right in front of her, she'd probably be in total denial.

Did anybody else catch Dan Riehl's critique of Greta's blog about the coverage from Aruba?

Damn! Pretty harsh interpretation, but an interpretation that fits my instincts about a high-profile MSM figure.

Apparently, he is not impressed at all about her show tonight.

http://www.riehlworldview.com/

I know this is rally late, but was searching aimlessly.I cannot find my post on this or comments that were made when Greta first sent to Aruba. First, what she has is not a blog. It is no different than any other column on the Fox page. No interaction, email does not count. From a technical stand point hardly a blog.

What is MSM?

Also is another network carrying this in primetime and I missed it. Which was my original point.

Frankly, I think one of the big reasons Fox is covering this story in such a big way is RATINGS. It was recently reported that O'Reilly's ratings have continually decreased since his little sexual harassment payoff.

I'm thrilled Fox is covering this story because I'm following it. BUT, the other cable networks are really providing far more balanced news programming.  In reality, the Natalee Holloway story is pretty far down the list of important stories. CNN and MSNBC are acting far more responsibly by balancing their news stories in a healhty informative fashion.

Chloe,

It is true that amongst the CABLE news networks, on any given night, Fox News' ratings are generally better than CNN, CNN Headline News, CNBC, and MSNBC combined.

However, in relation to the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC), Fox News generates one-fifth the audience.

You'll forgive me if it seems that I'm talking outta turn here, but it does seem that you know quite a bit more about this letter and are getting kind of defensive. And RB has gone into full-blown paranoid, protectorate mode.
 [/editorialize]

The letter may be fine for consumption and speculation on the web, but if anyone thinks that here on earth networks or papers will bite on it without proper confirmation, they're smoking something they need to share with the rest of "we."  No journalist worth their spit would run that letter without absolute confirmation, and they're not gonna get that from Aruban LE. Which leaves it back on the compost heap with the rest of the swirling rumors.

Any thoughts on that one?

You don't believe it, I would move on. Some will choose to believe so won't. You aren't defending facts I don't agree with, it is just info we will not and do not have.

ok so you tell me if we had the header information and it traced back to the 'Internet Cafe' that Crues and Deepak frequented you wouldn't belive it ???

Great point, Perforator! Not only tracked back to the Internet Cafe, but other evidence as well. If this is a hoax, so be it. If it is real, then it may shed light on some new evidence. The Holloways are hiring attorneys/suing the Aruban government in an attempt to get information that has been available on the internet via emails sent directly from one of the suspects of the case, before he was ever arrested. Sure, he (Deepok) may have been trying to set up his alibi, but what if he wasn't? What if he was telling the truth? We have no idea.

I find the security guard's story hard to believe. Why would Deepoke confess to a complete stranger while in jail?
