Nice summary, Writenow. Not much but speculation, rumor and digression (of which I am as guilty as others tonight.) Felt a chill on the board tonight -- seemed there were several members working together to 'steer' the discussion certain ways. Since that sounds paranoid, it indicates to me perhaps I've spent way too much time here, so I'm signing off.

As always Monkeys . . . keep up the business.

Sounds about right, chloe2. Trust your intuition. Goodnight!

Hey ya'll...about the email...it might not be real, yes, someone might be making it up. But then again Dash and I could be lying about who we are...especially me, because ya'll have never seen me. So everything on the internet should be taken with a grain of salt. At this point, almost nothing is fact. Just keep that in mind, and don't worry about arguing about it.

Hey, aren't you Hyphen's "Boy Next Door," sort of?  Can you tell me something I've not seen reported anywhere?

Do you know what the ratio of males/females was on the Aruba trip?  It has sounded like it was top-heavy (no pun intended) with females, but that just may be because they're more talkative and they are Nat's girl friends.

Just wonderin'

Well I'm a girl...but yeah she's my neighbor down the street.
I don't know the answer to that-I wasn't on the trip.

Quote from: "Mom in Ark"
What has happened this evening?

Okay, Mom....I'll try to summarize quickly:

1) WonderWoman posted several e-mails (that was forwarded to her from a friend) from Deepak to a friend in the US.  They were very detailed and specific about what happened the night Natalee disappeared, even including details of how Nat met Joran.....saying she went up to him in the casino and introduced herself, asked him to help her win back money, then she bought him a drink and invited him to CnCs.  He called Deepak, and the three guys met up about midnight and went to CnCs about 12:30 am.

NOTE:  To me and others the e-mail seems suspiciously filled with unnecessary details that seem to corroborate his initial story to police....including them dropping her at the HI...

2)  Almost simultaneously, Greta interviewed two of Nat's friends who were in Aruba.....and they say virtually the same thing about how Nat met Joran.  That he sat down at the blackjack table and was approached by Nat....they even say he wasn't flirting with anyone, but she introduced herself.

IMHO, reading between the lines, it seems they knew that Nat wanted to spend time with him after Cncs closed and are covering for her.  Whether that means Nat wanted to "hook up" with him or not is open to speculation....I remember when I was that age....I would want to do some serious kissing, but not necessarily planning to "hook up."  I suspect that's what she was doing....but I thinkt he GFs were protecting her reputation.  Also, Nat and Joran apparently chatted about their plans and she undoubtedly knew he would be coming to Florida for college soon, and probably was infatuated with him....my take anyway.

3)  Greta showed Nat's mom approaching the VDS house and pop coming out and inviting them in with no cameras.  Talk lasted 90 minutes.  Key points:

Anita VDS believes son is innocent and he told her he left Nat on the beach.

Pop told Joran to stop talking to people, police got it on a phone tap, so that's why he can't talk to Joran.

Pop was wringing his hands, Mom was crying.  She gave Nat's mom a kiss on the cheek when leaving.
___________
That's as much of a nutshell as I can make!

Compananzi, if it was PVDS in Holland, then how would he be the one to pick up Joran and MCD's at 11 on the 29th and be the one to have woken Joran for school on the 30th?  This is all based on AVDS being out of town.

i missed part of greta and have a question.

did beth ask joren's mom/dad why joren has changed his alibi? i realize that she would probably not get an answer but their reaction would sure be interesting. joren's credibility, imo, would ride on his answer to this question. beth must have asked?       thanks

FYI, Fox's top rated show, The O'Reilly factor, averages 1.8 million viewers per night.  NBC Nightly News averages 8 million per night.

And your point is?

My point is the assertion that Fox has the highest rated news is ludicrous.  Top rated cable news is a different story.  Of course, none of their primetime shows are straight news programs.

Maybe I am wrong just not willing to go back and look. I don't think I said anything other than they were the highest rated in the post that i referred to, which has now been reposted and says what I said. If you need to be right then foxnews is behind the network news (a given since they are not on cable only) fine. But if you are looking for news on this case you are going to the cable 3 then you end up on fox. Did you watch greta tonight? Just curious.

Yes, I saw Greta and thought she did a great job as I mentioned earlier.  But honestly, she's the only on air personality on FOX that I can stomach.

WonderWoman was sent e-mails from someone who received them from someone from someone from someone from Deepak Kalpoe written allegedly after he was questioned by police but before he was arrested.
All e-mails on this rumor forum. you'll have to go back. i think there were three.

Then Greta on FOX went with Beth to the V,d. Sloots and they sent inside and talked for 90 minutes but not with a camera present. And they interviewed Natalee's roommates in aruba. but since i don't have cable, have no idea was was said other than the comments people made here.

Nice summary, Writenow. Not much but speculation, rumor and digression (of which I am as guilty as others tonight.) I think the steering was to actually get the emails on to the board. The negativity as usual to the poster was running them off. Sometimes a comforting supportive forum breeds information, not the unbridled skeptism that is so prevelent at times. But you can label those you don't agree with however you see fit.

nutshell recap - Greta showed footage of BTH going up to VDS house and callling over fence, PVDS came over, took a card from her and invited them in but no cameras, AVDS, PVDS, BTH and Greta talked for 90 mins.

BTH was strong and asked them to get Joran to tell where NH is.
AVDS was away in Holland that night.
Joran snuck out after returning home at 11 (PVDS picked him up at Mcdonalds at 11).

AVDS is allowed to see Joran but not to talk about the case.
PVDS is not allowed to see him after polis picked up him advising Joran not to talk about the case on a wiretap.

AVDS kissed BTH on cheek when they were leaving.

(my take is that the VDS's looked sincere and devastated as did BTH - PVDS was softspoken and civil.)

In other news, Wonder Woman posted several emails which claim to be from Deepak to a friend of his in the states and there's considerable disagreement as to their authenticity.

Also on Greta, the Diario editor is now out to convict Joran - and there's lots of doubt about the editor's background and credibility.

I think those are the highlights.

It was Paul who was in Holland, he is studying for his judgeship, and yes Greta must has gotten confused and said that Anita was in Holland...the second time when holland was mentioned.  Jossy Mansur owns Diario...and well I find it strange that is pointing fingers to JVDS.  I think in Aruba, there is a Nat overload already, and Jossy for reasons that he may not want more investigative powers to be to dwell in the Mansur family business is eager to make it all end.  However that is one story that will not surface.

Wait...I was certain they said it was Anita...because Paul was home alone the night Joran snuck out to meet Natalee.

As we speak (more or less), The Runaway Bride's parent are "negotiating" with ABC.

There is also the matter of "perks" and how they are treated as "payment."  Note how trial judges in the US are now having to spell out precisely what it is that jurors in high-profile cases may not accept from media within a specified amount of time after the trial is over - from 2-6 months, usually.

They have been getting by with "just getting" a trip to New York, limo service, makeover, PR person, on and on--and it wasn't considered "payment" by the news organization (but it is considered reportable in-kind income).

In the case of Wilbanks, they got the *alleged* $500,000 advance from the TV movie production *ARM* of NBC and in return, Katie Couric, of the NEWS *arm* got the get.

Transportation to the studios is a legitimate expense. They aren't getting cash for doing the interview. Everyone who goes on has benefit of the makeup artists.

Movie (entertainment division) is not the news division even if they are both owned by NBC. news departments do not pay for interviews. Movie division pays for the rights to the story. News does not.

One is free and real, one is paid to look real.

Dateline NBC pays for interviews,,,,its not easy sometimes to distinguish alot of news programming with "magazine" programming nowadays - - - i think its because the magazine type shows are now just as current as regular news division stuff (lots of spin-off cable channels to fill with programming)

I was just thinking the same thing... ugh. I was hoping they would re-play Greta's info.

Does anyone know if there is a transcript of what was said on the original 10pm newscast? I saw the video of the entering/exiting the VDS property but I'm curious what was said in between...

My kids are giving me a hard time because I've had Fox on so much lately...they know I hate the channel and think I've gone off the deep especially when they see I have O'Reilly on!

Greta is the best show they've got...the others are sensational, patronizing and just plain bad programming.  IN ADDITION, anyone with an ounce of journalistic intelligence knows Fox stinks.

It was Anita who was in Holland the night Natalee went missing. Paul was at home, he picked Joran up at McDonalds at 11.

Anita also told Beth that Joran told her that he left Natalee asleep on the Beach. And she said she believes him, so if that is the case then the e mail that is going around from Depak is bogus.
