(CNN) -- New York City police are searching for a 22-year-old Sudanese model who has been missing since August 6.

Ataui-Deng Hopkins, known in the fashion world as Ataui Deng, was last seen that night about 11 p.m. on West 48th Street in Midtown Manhattan, according to a New York City Police Department statement released Monday.

Hopkins has worked with designers from Oscar de la Renta to Diane von Furstenberg, according to Corinne Nicolas, president of Trump Model Management. She has been featured in Vogue and worked for names such as Hermes and Kenzo.

She was born in Sudan and immigrated to San Antonio, Texas, before signing with Trump Models in 2008, Nicholas told CNN.

"She's a much-loved model," Nicholas said. "She's got a great personality, a great heart. She's someone that people enjoy working with."

Hopkins is the niece of Sudanese supermodel Alek Wek, according to a profile of her in New York Magazine.

Police described Hopkins as 6'1", weighing 110 lbs. and having black hair, dark complexion and a thin build. She lives in Manhattan's East Village, according to police.

It's good to know Ms. Hopkins has been located and she's alive.  For whatever reason she's been hospitalized, I wish her a quick and complete recovery.
