At the beginning of this case I thought that it maybe a kidnapping and possibly selling of Natalee or a rape gone bad.  However, after the first 3 or 4 days I was convinced this is no typical case.  With each passing day I am more convinced that something much more different is at work.  It seems impossible that this was a rape gone badly.
There is little question in my mind that Joran Van Der Sloot is the ring leader of the group of three.  The fourth man we really no nothing about and it is very possible that he is not involved.  However, I think that Joran maybe under the control of his father.  We know that Joran's mother was not in the country the night Natalee disappeared.  There is little question in my mind that Paul Van Der Sloot has taught his son to gamble, drink and probably treat women as nothing more than property and most likely sexual property.
Has anyone looked into the financial situation of the Van Der Sloot's has Joran and Paul got the family into gambling debt?  There is a lot of trafficking in drugs, women and children in that part of the world.  I believe that to pay his debts Paul sent his son and friends out to find a nice young woman to payoff their debt.  If they were involved with a loan shark; he could easily have sold her or worked Natalee himself.
I am terrified that all searches, investigators and Natalee's family are conducting are in the water or other places to find a body.  The good news is at doing not think it is likely that there is a body.  However, I fear at most for her life and the conditions under which she might currently be living.  The worst part is that I do not think they are looking for the right evidence and will not find her unless they change direction.
I think she is either in Aruba being held against her will or taken from the island against her will.  I think Joran, maybe scared of both his father and possibly the people that may have Natalee.

I am a Political Science major and follow the news and investigations closely.  I have only been wrong once in a missing persons case and that was gladly Elizabeth Smart.  "The runaway bride" I said from day one and even after she was found and it was thought she had been kidnapped I knew other wise.  Natalee is alive and being held against her will and I would bet my life on that!

Can anybody confirmed that Natalee disappeared before?

A judge in training would not sent his minor child out to kidnap a well-connnected American citizen to sell her into white slavery to resolve his debts.

Joran may have screwed up and picked the wrong type of girl.  Also, keep in mind those with addiction and criminals get more daring and that is when they make mistakes and it all falls apart.  We hear that there is so little crime in Aruba, but since Natalee went missing we now know there are more problems then previously thought.  There always comes that watershed moment and maybe Natalee is it.

There is no reason to beleive that anyone involved in this tragedy was addicted. Tourists simply are not a target for human trafficing, period.

I was refering to an addicition to the thrill of crime.  Also, it is clear that Joran does have a gambling addiction.  He is under the legal gambling and drinking age and is a regular in bars and casinos.  That is a addiction!

one of the keys here may be just that...a 17 yr. old frequenting casinos !... major gambling debt perhaps which he (joran) suddenly had to pay off...less likely is the father in that role (who was also seen in the casinos...often with his son) ...though paulus, working in the justice system may well in fact know the sort of undesirable and dangerous organized crime heavies, who operate out of and through some of the casinos, who could have pressured joran into doing something he wouldn't have otherwise done...i still think the human trafficking thing may not necessarily apply here (the Amy Bradley case on the other hand needs and deserves much broader attention in that regard ---fbi get your asses back on that one!), but to a manchild who suddenly finds themselves in over their head in life, an exceedly stupid, rash, and deplorable action may not even be considered by them as indeed thoughtless in such a situation...often one notices an inverse correlation between the level of care and respect a person grants themselves and others with the level of external restrictions and even penalties imposed upon them by outside entities or circumstances...the caged animal will exist carelessly in its own filth...i'm not saying at all that he, joran, should be considered a victim here, for he obviously for whatever reason pretty much got himself into this mess, just that some of the extenuating circumstances involved perhaps may cloud such a would-be protagonists thinking...

I agree with that...

The brothers I think deepak is the anal one about his car, so his bro drives him to work ect, joran doesn't drive? natalie and joran were making out in the back seat which the one brother didn't like so he dropped them off at the beach.

I think he tried having sex with her, she refused and perhaps he banged her head off a rock and knocked her out. He then freaked out, thought she was dead, or was dead after he did that, and disposed of the body.

This is from the aruba.com message board concerning rip tides:

Over on the wild side is DANGEROUS!!! It is posted "NO SWIMMING". Some have ignored the signs and fatal tragedies have occurred. Nobody is coming in after you and get smashed in to the rocks beside you. SO STAY OUT LIKE THE SIGNS SAY and you will be fine!! The beaches in front of the resorts have a SLIGHT current which you will find yourself VERY SLOWLY drifting if you are on a float or just bouncing around in the water. However, during very stormy weather, I would not go swimming in any ocean anywhere.

---

That is where they could of disposed of the body.
