Relatives of a missing “Frozen River” actress say they have canceled an online fundraising campaign due to negative comments and are “very heartbroken and afraid,” six days after they say she disappeared.

Misty Upham, 32, was last seen Sunday, Oct. 5 after she left an apartment in Auburn, Washington, near Seattle, Reuters reported. Her sister lived there, and Upham told her family she was headed to visit friends, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Police said they responded to a suicide call from the apartment, but Upham — a prominent Native American actress and activist — was gone when they arrived.

NEWS/ Misty Upham's Family Confirms She Is Dead as Meryl Streep and Juliette Lewis Offer Condolences
October 17 2014

More than two weeks after Misty Upham was reported missing, the actress' family has confirmed she is dead. The Auburn Police Department told E! News Thursday that it had found a body "presumed" to be Misty, 32, though it was awaiting "positive identification" from the King County medical examiner. Later, a spokeswoman for the Uphams confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the body was indeed Misty's.
Local filmmaker Tracy Rector, a longtime friend of Misty's, said the August: Osage County star's uncle, Robert Upham, found her body along with two other searchers. Charles Upham, Misty's father, later confirmed the Mystic River star's identity to the authorities. "We waited at the site where the team found the body," said Tracy, who was part of the search party. "It took about five-and-a-half hours to confirm. Then we gathered around her body to say prayers and now we're all gathered at the church."
Misty's cause of death has yet to be determined. However, as the Auburn Police Department told E! News Thursday, "At this point we do not have any evidence or information to believe there is foul play."

http://news.kron4.com/news/medical-examiner-actress-misty-upham-died-from-blunt-force-injuries/

(CNN) — Actress Misty Upham, whose body was found in October along a river in suburban Seattle, died from blunt force injuries to her head and torso, the King County Medical Examiner said Thursday.
The manner of her death has not yet been determined, the medical examiner’s office said.
Investigators found Upham’s body during a search for the missing actress. It lay at the bottom of a steep embankment near the White River.
Upham, 32, was last seen alive October 5 walking from her sister’s apartment, according to a statement sent to media outlets by her father, Charles Upham. Authorities say she died that day, but it wasn’t until more than a week later that investigators found her body.
Her father said she had bipolar disorder and bouts of depression and anxiety, but he didn’t think she was suicidal. Police have said they don’t have evidence of foul play.
Upham had small roles in “Django Unchained” and “August: Osage County,” and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her performance in 2008′s “Frozen River.” She’s also had roles in the TV series “Big Love” and the TV movie “Skinwalkers.”

I think there's something very strange about her death. :/
