AUBURN, Maine —Police are searching for 15-year-old Lily Swearingen. Officials said Swearingen was first reported missing Feb. 27.



Police said they are asking for the public’s help since there are no leads to where the teenager may be.

Swearingen is described as being a white female, around 5 foot 4 inches tall with shoulder-length black hair. She is about 90 pounds and has hazel eyes, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 207-784-7331.

17-year-old Auburn girl dies in Augusta crash
 
Lily M. Swearingen, a passenger riding with Darrien Allard, 19, of Sidney, died when the car hit a culvert, police said.
A 17-year-old Auburn girl, Lily M. Swearingen, was killed Tuesday when a car driven by another teenager hit a culvert on Eastern Avenue about 6:30 p.m., police said.
 
Darrien Allard, 19, of Sidney, lost control of the 2008 Mazda MZ3 while driving east, veered off the road and hit the culvert, causing extensive damage, according to Augusta police Deputy Chief Jared Mills.
Swearingen was killed and Allard and two other passengers were taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta to be treated for their injuries.
 
Allard was treated and released from the hospital, a MaineGeneral spokeswoman said.
 
On Wednesday afternoon, police said Swearingen’s family had been notified of her death and that the investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing. They said they could not provide the identities of the other two passengers in the vehicle until the investigation is complete.
 
Swearingen was enrolled at Edward Little High School in Auburn this past spring, Principal Scott Annear said in an email Wednesday.
 
“It is with a heavy heart that I can confirm that Lily was a full time student at Edward Little High School,” Annear wrote. “She had just completed her 11th grade, junior year with us.”
