A 5-year-old boy missing from Pulaski County has been found dead, according to sources.

Sources say the body of Noah Thomas was found in a septic or sewage tank, but so far no one has been arrested.

Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis had scheduled a 2 p.m. news conference, but canceled it moments earlier. Police received more than 100 tips from around the country in the search for Noah. Some tipsters said they had seen the boys, while others reported suspicious vehicles in the child's neighborhood.

Noah was last seen on Sunday morning by his mom at the family's Dublin home

Could it be that the septic tank was uncovered and Noah fell in when he left that house on Sunday morning while his mother slept?  I could be wrong but ... I cannot comprehend a child's body being disposed of in such revolting manner.  The implication would be that the person was void of a conscience.

Two of the three sources say 5-year-old Noah Thomas of Dublin was found in a septic system on the Highland Road property he went missing from.

A 6 p.m. news conference is scheduled.

Police activity, including FBI agents, are at Noah’s home. There is also a hazardous materials team at the scene.

Police tape is around the house, which is in the 5400 block of Highland Road in Dublin. Investigators wearing white hazmat-type suits are at the scene.

Previously, authorities canceled a 2 p.m. news conference scheduled for Thursday.

Pulaski Co. sheriff confirms death of Noah Thomas; no one in custody

The Pulaski County boy who went missing Sunday has been found dead, sheriff Jim Davis confirmed Thursday evening.

Noah Thomas was found around 1 p.m. Thursday in a septic tank near his Highland Road home.

At this time, no one is in custody. The cause of the 5-year-old's death has not been determined. Sheriff Davis said Noah's parents, Ashley White and Paul Thomas, are cooperating with investigators.

"We are very saddened to announce that we have recovered the body of Noah Thomas shortly after 1 p.m. today. He was found at a location near his home. His body was discovered in a septic tank during a more detailed and aggressive search," sheriff Davis said during a brief news conference. "The recovery of the body is now part of our investigation, and ongoing."

Earlier Thursday, there was a flurry of police activity, including FBI agents, near Noah’s home. A hazardous materials unit and a rescue team from Roanoke were at the scene. Police tape surrounded the home, which is in the 5400 block of Highland Road in Dublin. Some investigators at the scene wore white hazmat-type suits.
