Minneapolis police searching for a missing college student Sunday have reported finding the young woman’s purse near a bar where she was last seen early Friday.

“Purse belonging to Jen Houle was located Friday/3:00 am,” Minneapolis Police Public Information Officer John Elder said on Twitter late Saturday afternoon. He said the block where the purse was found is about three blocks from the bar.

Four days before Jessica's disappearance an attack and rape on another university woman occurred only four blocks away from Blarney's Pub.

https://police.umn.edu/news/032315

March 23, 2015

On Monday, March 23 at approximately 12:45 a.m., a University of Minnesota student was the victim of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Rape. The crime occurred off campus near the intersection of 8th Street SE and 13th Avenue SE.

The victim was scraping snow from her car in a parking lot when the suspect approached from behind and sprayed her in the face with a chemical irritant. The suspect then forced the victim to the ground and sexually assaulted her. The suspect fled southbound through the alley. Minneapolis Police responded and searched the surrounding area but were not able to locate the suspect. The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center for medical treatment.

Using the victim's description and an image captured by University of Minnesota cameras as reference, the suspect is a white male, five feet ten inches to six feet one inch tall with a medium build. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants with three white stripes on the side.

Minneapolis Police are investigating these off-campus crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Tip Line at 612-692-8477 and reference case MP-15-099682.

On February 16th one male molested (groped) three females, two of whom were university students, on three separate occasion all during daylight hours.  He is described as a well dressed white male in his twenties, medium build, 5'10-6'.

On February 23rd a male was able to get another female student in his vehicle and drove her to an unknown location and assaulted her.  Similar description as above except he is described as having an accent.

Sadly, how many times must we tell young women not to leave their "wing-man" and to always travel in groups. Do not get separated from your friends.

Could you young girls please head the warnings of Beth Holloway, please!

Very sad. The authorities did not say whether she fell or jumped. I am certain that the video probably indicates whether it was one or the other. One has to wonder whether running into her ex-boyfriend that night coupled with alcohol caused extreme distress, was she having other issues or was it just the alcohol.

So very sad when one dies way too soon.

My condolences to Jennifer's family.  I hope with time her family can go forward and find peace.  I'm not certain there is anything such as closure, but more of learning to live without a loved one.  Very sad.  Rest in peace Jennifer.   an angelic monkey
