'Nancy Grace' will air missing Stillwater woman's story

The disappearance of Abbey Russell, a 24-year-old Stillwater woman who has been missing since early Saturday, will get national attention Wednesday night on the HLN show "Nancy Grace."

Nancy Grace will feature Russell on her show, which airs at 7 p.m. CST.

Crews in Stillwater have searched for Russell on the ground, in the river and by air since her disappearance. Russell left her house in the 1700 block of North Broadway on foot and last had contact with family about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Ken Russell, Abbey's father, says it is out of character for his daughter not to be in touch.

Abbey Russell, who works as a server at Pub 112 in downtown Stillwater, left without her keys, cellphone, purse, identification, money or her beloved dog, he said. "He's a schnoodle (a Schnauzer-poodle mix) named Oliver, and up until this point, at age 24, he's the love of her life. He's her main true confidante."

Abbey Russell also left without her pink baby blanket, he said Wednesday. "She had it since the day she was born," he said. "It's in shreds, and it's got knots tied into it, and it's all stringy. She's always had it with her, and she doesn't now. We want her home because we know she's missing Oliver and her blankie."

RELEASE: Body found in St. Croix River identified as Abbey Russell
Updated: Sun 6:12 PM, May 03, 2015

STILLWATER, Minn. (WEAU)-- The search for the missing 24-year-old woman from Stillwater has officially come to an end.

On Sunday, the Washington County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that the body of 24-year-old Abbey Russell has been found in the St. Croix River.

Abbey was first reported missing nine days ago, and since then, crews have been searching by water, by air and by foot.

We were able to make contact with Abbey Russell's family, and they ask if we respect their privacy during this very difficult time.

We also had the opportunity to stop at Pub 112 in downtown Stillwater. We spoke with one of Abbey's coworkers that had worked several shifts with her there, and although she only worked there for two weeks, he said she was a very nice girl, but yet you never really know what's going through another person’s mind.

We expect to learn more from the Washington Co. Sheriff’s office on Monday.
