3 Months Old Janna Rivera Missing Since 5/29/15 in Indianapolis, IN (Update: Authorities Don’t Believe the Baby is Alive, Baby Placed in Dumpster)

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!! ITS BAD ENOUGH ADULTS KILL ADULTS, TEENS AND KIDS ... BUT A 3 MONTH OLD CHILD?

Quote
3 month old Janna Rivera has been missing since Friday, May 29, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The original 911 call was placed around 8 AM Friday from a woman saying the child was missing and could be dead. Authorities searched for the missing baby on Friday within a five mile radius of the 4100 block of Candy Apple Boulevard. Sadly, the police believe that the baby is dead.  WISH-TV8 is reporting that investigators questioned a person of interest in connection to the disappearance of Janna Rivera, but they said he is not cooperating. The police announced around 3:50 p.m. that the search had been suspended after a five mile radius had been combed through.

The father has been named a person of interest in the case.

Indianapolis Police Search Landfill For Missing Infant

http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2015/05/31/indianapolis-indianapolis-police-search-landfill-for-missing-infant.html

Quote
Dozens of officers in white gear poked through the South Side Landfill on Sunday following a day of heavy rains searching for Janna Rivera. Her mother reported her missing from their home on the city’s northeast side Friday. Indianapolis police spokesman Lt. Richard Riddle says officers spent part of Saturday searching a trash transfer station, but found nothing.

Why the landfill? ... Police were prompted to look for Janna’s remains at “South Side Landfill” after the baby’s biological father tipped police that she was placed in a dumpster on the city’s east side. SICK, SICK, SICK!!!

INDIANAPOLIS - For the third day in a row, and at a third location, detectives have started and suspended their search for a missing three month old baby.

Three-month-old Janna Rivera was reported missing from a home on Candy Apple Blvd., near E. 42nd Street and Mitthoeffer Road around 11:00 Friday morning by her mother.

"We have had interviews with the father of the baby that have led us to believe that the baby was placed in a dumpster. That dumpster trash was then transferred to a Mount Comfort transfer station. Our detectives followed up on that lead and searched that facility yesterday," said IMPD Lt. Richard Riddle. "Trash from the east side was also brought to this landfill on the south side and now our detectives are following up down here and conducting a search of that trash to see if we can find any remains or evidence in this case."

The search at the south side landfill was suspended early Sunday afternoon.

Searches for missing baby halt with little hope
Justin L. Mack and Robert King 9:31 p.m. EDT May 31, 2015

A weekend of searches for a missing 3-month-old girl proved fruitless. Police say statements by the baby's father lead them to believe baby Janna Rivera is dead and that she was placed in a trash bin.

"Statements made by the father lead us to believe that baby Janna died on Friday, and that the baby was placed into a Dumpster on the Eastside," said Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Richard Riddle.

Police said Janna's father was in charge of watching her while the baby's mother was at work.

Police have questioned both parents. Initially, officers had trouble communicating with the mother because of a language barrier. The woman, who has two other young children, moved with them and the father, who is her boyfriend, into their two-story home just a few weeks ago, neighbors said.

The father remains a person of interest in the case, Riddle said, but police had no legal reason to hold him.

By Staff Reports Published: June 1, 2015, 1:34 pm Updated: June 1, 2015, 2:32 pm

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers continued the search Monday for missing 3-month-old Janna Rivera, who is presumed dead.

The search for Janna began on Friday around the baby’s home, and continued through the weekend at a local landfill. Monday, IMPD officials said they were searching another area for her, but they wouldn’t disclose where.

Monday afternoon, IMPD said the search turned up no evidence and no Janna.

Forensic psychologist troubled by letter from father of missing baby

http://fox59.com/2015/06/08/forensic-psychologist-troubled-by-letter-from-father-of-missing-baby/

Quote
Her father, Jeff Fairbanks, is the last known person to have seen her and the only person of interest named in the case.

He goes on to explain why he didn’t call 911.

“Believe it or not, it never even occured to me.  Once I couldn’t save her, all I could think about were the girls downstairs…  I guess, in some strange way, I was trying to protect them, because I knew she was already gone.”

Fairbanks said after driving “aimlessly, waiting for her to wake up, praying, thinking somehow she would,” he placed her body in a dumpster. Then he said he lied to his family and told them he had actually buried Janna, because he felt “so ashamed of what I had done.”

“He sounds guilty,” said legal expert and former prosecutor Jack Crawford. “The letter is extremely important to the prosecution of this case. It shows the thinking of Mr. Fairbanks and it shows – in my opinion – a guilty mind. When you make up a story so outlandish as this, lying to your own family about where you buried the little child, that indicates guilt.”

Quote
She was also concerned by other statements made by Fairbanks.

“The statement that ‘after the fact of Janna’s death’ taking the police to the dumpster was the hardest thing he ever did is also troubling because how could anything be harder than tossing your baby’s lifeless body into a trash dumpster in the first place?” she asked.

In the email, Fairbanks also mentions passing a polygraph test despite his nervousness. Dr. Keaton said polygraphs are not admissible in court and sometimes, people with psychopathic tendencies can easily pass polygraphs.

“Some individuals have flattened affect resulting in less strong emotions, especially less guilt/shame.   Such individuals may have a better chance of fooling a lie detector,” explained Keaton.

Mother says blanket found during landfill search belonged to missing baby Janna Rivera
Posted 5:27 PM, June 11, 2015, by Greg Margason - Web Producer

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 11, 2015)– Investigators found multiple blankets during the initial landfill search for missing baby Janna Rivera. According to police, DNA testing has not yet been conducted. The baby’s mother was able to identify one of the blankets as belonging to the missing child. Sources said the evidence indicates a possible crime of violence.

Nearly two weeks after going missing, police are still searching for the body of missing 3-month-old girl. Jeff Fairbanks, Janna’s father, is the only person of interest in the case. Detectives have extensively questioned him, but no arrests have been made.

Really? Investigators say that the father Jeffrey Fairbanks rolled over onto the infant while sleeping, smothering and ultimately killing the child. So then he threw the baby out with the trash. Really? What was his name, Casey Anthony?

NO BODY, NO CRIME???

Jeffrey Fairbanks, the father of missing and presumed dead 3 month old Janna Rivera, has been arrested in  Marion County, Indiana and charged with murder and the neglect of a dependent child resulting in a death. The Marion County Prosecutor’s office is expected to release more information about the arrest Friday. 3 month old Janna Rivera has been missing since Friday, May 29, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Authorities searched for the missing baby, including looking for the infant at a local landfill. It was suspected from the outset of this missing person case that the child was deceased. Initially, Fairbanks told Eyewitness News at the time the child died of natural causes, then he placed her body in a dumpster at an east Indianapolis apartment complex. Janna’s remains have never been found.

Why not just tell the truth?

I'm going to go ahead and move to the Missing and or Presumed Dead forum area.

That is exactly what I thought -- I remember Dr. G saying at CA's trial, that parents (note the word used) will call 911 even if they believe their child is deceased.  They (Parents) still hold out hope. . .
