Baby's father 'person of interest'; $10k reward offered

http://www.redding.com/news/local-news/baby-missing-from-crib-in-happy-valley

Quote
Matthew Graham, father of baby Ember Graham, has been named a "person of interest" in her disappearance, according to Shasta County Sheriff's Lt. Dave Kent.

Kent said no other person of interest has been identified in the case. Ember's mother, Jamie Lee Graham, is cooperating, he said.

"We have very limited information," Kent said.

As reported earlier, Matthew Graham has been in Shasta County Jail on a probation violation, and is being held without bail. He was the first to report the baby missing from her crib a little after 5 a.m. Thursday morning.

Kent said the violation stems from DUI and forgery cases. During questioning, Matthew Graham gave investigators information that he took medication that had not been disclosed to his probation officer, which is a violation of conditions, Kent said.

Sheriff: Missing baby Ember most likely not alive

http://www.krcrtv.com/sheriff-missing-baby-ember-most-likely-not-alive/34025116

Monday marks the fifth day search and rescue teams from all over California have been searching for missing 6-month-old Ember Sky Graham.

Ember was reported missing from her crib early Thursday morning by her father, Matthew Graham, who is a person of interest in the disappearance of the baby.

Almost 80 volunteers from statewide search and rescue teams and 60 family members searched the countryside on Monday for the six-month-old. The search efforts are concentrated in the area of Clear Creek Road in Happy Valley.

Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko said given the time that has passed and the heat over the last five days, they are looking to recover the body of baby Ember to see if there's any "recoverable evidence there."

"We don't have any viable leads of where to look, so it's a little bit of a needle in a haystack search," Bosenko shared.

This is just heart-breaking. So, so sad

ONO, Calif. (AP) — A father considered a person of interest in the disappearance of his 6-month-old daughter in Northern California became the subject of a manhunt after he stole a gun and fled, authorities said Saturday.

Matthew Graham, 23, skipped a meeting with his probation officer and stole a semi-automatic pistol from his mother after learning new information about the probe, Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko said.

Bosenko said deputies had spoken to Graham's mother and the baby's mother about a pacifier found in the sparsely populated Ono area Friday.

This doesn't bode well for Baby Ember.   I hope she can be found.

UPDATED: Mother holds out hope for missing baby Ember

REDDING, California - Jamie Lee Graham, the mother of a missing 6-month-old girl whose high-profile search was momentarily eclipsed when the baby's father went on the run and was killed by law enforcement officers, says she won’t rest until she knows where her daughter is — whether it’s underground in the Happy Valley area or in someone’s home across the country.

Graham, 19, broke her silence of more than two weeks to give the Record Searchlight an interview to bring the focus back on baby Ember Skye Graham and respond to a flurry of rumors that won’t let up on social media.

She spoke at length of her world being tossed into chaos and turmoil, the loss of her husband, Matthew Ryan Graham, and her worst fears being realized when detectives showed her Ember’s pacifier.

“It was in her mouth in the camera at the store. I didn’t want to believe that they (had found) it. I was hoping that they found something else,” she said. “When I saw it (on video), I knew that that’s what they were going to show me.”
